I realize I am very late to the party, but just watched your wonderful vlog--LOVED. I watched the footage from Stephen and Penelope's at least three times. What a fantastic place, and your photography did it justice. Considering you taught yourself to knit socks just a few weeks ago, your progress is amazing. Must tell you, you inspired me to order the 52 weeks of socks book. I have been churning out too many plain vanilla socks for way too many years.

Dear Carmen, thank you so much for your visit, your kind words and the lovely footage of the shop. It’s fun to see my own shop through your lens. Lammegien holds a very special place in my heart, she is a beautiful sampler and I am so honored that Jacob presented her on our Stitching Day in 2022. As for the credit card, it is just not in my budget to accept credit cards. Nobody in the Netherlands really uses them having a debit card instead. And please, do come back so we can meet and if you are stitching her at that time, please bring Lammegien as well. Have a great time stitching her. Best wishes, Annemiek

What a cool video - and what a lot of work must have went into it. You really captured the charm of the Netherlands. I’m very impressed with your editing skills as well as the results of your knitting and cross stitch projects. I’m into cross stitch as a relative newbie, but totally get your enthusiasm for knitting. I also like your taste in cross stitch projects, they mirror what I hope to accomplish. I took note of the fact you don’t drive. Me too. I’m almost 78 and have never driven a car. I like to refer to myself as a “devout pedestrian.” Luckily public transit is also very good where I live. I’m catching up on the last few flosstubes you’ve posted after a bit of downtime after a health problem. Getting back into stitching now and your channel is among those I find very inspiring. Taking lots of notes. Thank you so much.😮

Love the vlog style flosstube. You've picked the three best stores our country has! Nice choice on the orange yarn. 💕
I'll be back to your flosstube to see your progress on Lammegien Pot. Have a lovely weekend! Joanita 🌷

Watching your socks and the orange yarn makes me itch to try knitting too!!! It looks so much fun. And you are absolutely right about the eye candy aspect. I could stare at a wall of colour and marvel endlessly hahah 😂 fun fact, when you mentioned the lack of purple in samplers, back in the day when threads where dyed naturally, purple was a challenging dye material to come by, so my assumption here is that’s why it’s not as prevalent in samplers. And just for fun, red was widely available, but to achieve a bright deep red was considered a great skill.
Thank you for sharing your trip! It exposed me to some shops places to check out ❤ hope you are doing well, and enjoying the sunshine here in Canada 😊

Delightful, energetic flasstube. Thank you. Your socks from the beginning are a Finnish designer and Sisu in Finnish means fortitude. I think Pam and Stephanie visited the Soed Idee on there trip last fall. They have flosstube called Just Keep Sitchin'.

Love your flosstube! Started 'de randjes' in 2014 and finished it in november 2020. I made it into a square. I used several years. Never been to Soed Idee or de Handwerkboetiek despite living in the Netherlands. Seeing your flosstube makes me want to buy the GH pattern (the initials of my son 😊) groetjes Bernadet

Thank you for mentioning our SAL for GH1857, and we would be incredibly honored for you to join us on June 1. Absolutely loved your recap of Atelier Soed Idee. We stitched Ivlie Godefroid as a SAL last year. You will love stitching that sweet sampler. I ordered All Randjes while watching your video. Pre-ordered Tona’s Randjes the first day I saw Simone open pre-order sales. Simone is definitely a talented designer!
    Happy stitching! 🧵🪡

Lived in NL in late '80s for 3 yrs, miss it so much, was stitching American patterns at the time, hope to get back soon. Loved video, your details. Have some Soed Idee patterns, had been eyeing border books, pulled out what I had during video, motivated to kit up asap. Keep videos coming.

Yay, Aurifil! Love their thread. It’s made in Italy and wonderful customer service. I know it from quilting but they do make embroidery floss. I believe the pattern you are looking for is by Stacy Nash Primitives called Rose Cotrage Sampler Pinkeep. Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip.

This was so good! Thank you! I'm joining the GH 1857 SAL on 6/1. It was so enjoyable to see the shop and the original in your video. We're stopping through Amsterdam on our next trip, but we're only there for 2 nights. Is it possible to get to both shops in a day? Maybe you shared this, and I missed it, but approximately how long of drive to/from and in-between these shops would you say?

Thanks for the trip. I am definitely an armchair traveler, and beginning student of the sampler. I enjoy learning from you, but won’t try to keep up. As a former knitter, I appreciated your socks and sweaters. I would have bought the wool.

I live in Sweden and several years ago my bank switched my Visa to Maestro so I think it must be the Visa company that stopped working (or as much asprevious) inEurope? Maybe? I never got an explenation as for why they switched my card brand.
I love your mums taste in patterns. :)
