Thank you for this detailed video! I set mine up today. I wished I had watched your video first.
I’m so happy it was helpful! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Enjoy your new machine!
Wow, I actually really enjoyed your review. Well done !!! I have a Cameo 3 now, but looking to get the 24" Cameo 4 down the road. Your review was a great help. Keep up the awesome work. Much love from Canada.
Great information, I love you’re craft room!
Thank you so much!
Thank you that was very informative I appreciate your help
Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you found it helpful.
I swear we live in a information less world. I have a sheet. A 24 inch sheet of stickers. Can this be used to cut? How would I get those registration marks on the sheet paper?
Is the sheet already printed? Do you have the same image/design on your computer?
For the best print and cut the registration marks are turned on when designing and printed with the design.
You should be able to print and cut on a 24” sheet if you have a printer or access to one that prints on that size material.
If it is already printed without the registration marks and depending on the design you could cut the sheet down and use a PixScan mat.
@@LittleGraySquirrel thank you
Can this Maching Cut , 3mm Foam Board? 24x24
Excellent information. I don't have a Cameo but I'm starting to research them so this was very helpful. Thank you.
🌻🌸🌺💐🏵🌷🌼💖
Thank you 😊
Let me know if you have any questions about the machines or the software or projects or materials too.
@@LittleGraySquirrel
I absolutely will. You definitely know more than anyone I've watched so far!!
Thank you!
Very informative,, Thank You!
Thank you for watching!
??? Have you cut larger then 24" and with out the mat? How did it work for you?
thanks
😃
I have cut poster board 28” long without a mat. It went well. I was using the pop out cut feature. In hindsight my blade was too deep because it was cutting all the way through instead of leaving the bridges. But I was pretty pleased with it. I have not cut vinyl without a mat in it yet though. I thought I had a video but I haven’t put it together yet. Here is a link to my blog post about it. www.littlegraysquirrel.com/diy-giant-file-folders-using-cameo-4-pro/
Where did you buy your table
I got it from Amazon. Here is the video about the table. ruclips.net/video/OJ-JRjfZa5s/видео.html the link is in the description.
Thank you for the info
You are welcome!
I'm loosing patience with mine. Doesn't want to cut on the lines in the studio even after calibration and it's a chore to get the registration sorted
Are you trying to do print and cut with the Cameo Pro?
It rarely needs to actually be calibrated. Here are some tips for a successful print and cut:
Only use official Silhouette mats for print and cut.
Make sure your Media Size in silhouette (design screen page), actual media size, and printer size are all the same (turn on print border and cut border for a visual).
Make sure your page Orientation is set to Portrait and your registration marks show a square in the top left and corner line in top right and lower left.
Make sure you only have cut lines where you want them (the bright red lines in the send screen).
Don’t try adjusting registration marks during troubleshooting.
Make sure your design is within the red cut border and not in the gray crosshatch area.
Test this on a piece of regular printer paper if possible to rule out reflection if you plan to use a glossy material.
Place your printed design with the square registration mark in the upper left corner of your mat. On the Cameo Pro, make sure you are putting the paper on the mat where the software tells you to. If it is a regular letter size it will actually be on the 1/2” line moth the outer line of the grid on the mat.
Use both hands if possible to load the mat so it loads evenly (if it looks like the mat is going in and out crooked, unload and load again).
Use the mat support in front of the machine and make sure the mat travels in and out of the machine as level as possible especially when it is registering.
Send.
Watch while it registers and begins to cut. If it starts to cut where it shouldn’t, pause it, unload, try again.
If your printer doesn’t print black really well you can try tracing the registration marks with a sharpie.
Let me know if you need more help.
I just got our cameo 4 pro a few days ago. Still working on trying to figure it out. It's cutting uneven. Thanks for the video
You are welcome! Would you like some help troubleshooting?
@@LittleGraySquirrel maybe. Lol Thanks for the offer. I will know in a couple hours 🥺🤣

UPDATE! January 31st 2022. Cameo Pro are in stock and ready to ship! Link in description above.
can u cut thick papers with this? like calling cards and packaging boxes?
Yes. Poster board is one of my favorite things to cut and that is just with the regular 1mm blade. It could thicker than that depending on how dense the material is. There is a chipboard cut setting in the software.
The cameo 4 models have a feature called pop out cut where you can actually cut card stock and thick papers like poster board without a mat too.
Does this cameo cut on balsa wood too? I currently have the very first cameo 1 works well. But I am thinking on purchase the 15" or 24" silhouette cameo for bigger projects.
Technically, yes but not very detailed designs and it takes some special settings and several passes to cut through . I haven’t tried it myself yet though.
I tried cutting 2mm sheets of plywood (like the wood signs from Dollar Tree) and that was not successful at all.
The 3mm Kraft blade and the rotary blade for the cameo 4 models need space outside the design to turn the blade to cut the next part of the design, they don’t just cut around the lines like the regular blades. This affects how detailed the design is that you can cut with those blades.
I do like my 4 and Pro though. The Pro is a very large machine. The Plus (15”) would probably be sufficient for most things unless you have a specific need for cutting 24” wide and 24” long or more.
How can you cut cardstock paper invitations? I've tried doing it and it won't cut through. I'm using my cricut machine, but the pro would be better since I'd be able to cut more. I'm new with the whole silhouette. I've watched so many videos and yours has been the most helpful!
Thank you 😊 I always recommend doing test cuts until you get the perfect cut settings for your machine, blade, and materials. Then write them down so you remember next time you use that material.
I haven’t used a Cricut but I think you can manually increase the pressure and/or the blade depth to help cut through. Some paper and cardstock is more fibrous and just doesn’t cut well.
Silhouette has a cut setting called Line Segment Overcut that really helps when cutting paper materials (I pretty much have it turned on for all cuts). It cuts just past the line where it intersects and picks up the blade and puts it down to start the next cut. It does add a little time to the cut but it helps make nice clean cuts.
@@LittleGraySquirrel thanks so much for the fast response. I will try this.
I have just purchased the Cameo 4 Pro and I have some questions that will help me determine if I should keep it. So I am hoping you can help me.
Does the Cameo Pro cut or work with other size mats? I believe you mentioned that, but do you have a video that shows the flexibility of cutting other sizes. Some people have been complaining about not being able to load the vinyl evenly, what do you suggest? Is there a detailed tutorial that will walk a newbie to using the Pro? I bought the Pro because I want to do wall signs for decor. Like Bible Scriptures, is the Pro for home crafting or for those who have businesses? Sorry for all the questions, but I really need to know if the Pro I bought is worth keeping. I thinking the thing that has me questioning this purchase is all the negative reviews I have read. Thank you so, so, so much. I hope to hear from you.
Thank you for your questions. I hope you still have your machine. The Pro is not just for people with a business (although if people find out what you can do they will probably ask you to make stuff for them).
Yes you can use any of the Silhouette cutting mats in the Pro. I only have 12” mats but I will make a video showing how to adjust the rollers and load mats and materials in the Pro. That is a great suggestion.
I have started a first cut on the Pro video but it was cutting freezer paper which probably isn’t something a lot of people would be looking for to begin with. I will do one with vinyl.
To load the vinyl straight, here are some tips. Make sure the vinyl is cut straight, use the sensor to load (push load, then place your vinyl in front of the rollers and it will pull it in after about 3 seconds), use both hands to load it as straight as possible, and then feed the vinyl into the machine using the arrows on the touchscreen either the length you will be cutting or at least three feet if cutting longer than that to make sure it will load through straight, then feed it back to the beginning. If it goes crooked, unload and try loading again or trim it using a 90 degree ruler or square 📐 to make sure it is straight.
I want a pro so bad they are sold out everywhere
Hopefully soon🤞I think I heard more are supposed to in stock around the end of April.
Cameo Pro are now available for pre order! They might not ship until late April/May but you can order one now. There is a link in the description above.
@@LittleGraySquirrel thank you do you know if you can buy the business edition software now or do you have to wait till you get the cameo also do you have to buy the basic also along with business edition
@@DeerFarm18 The basic edition is free and you can download it anytime, you do not need to own a Silhouette machine to download and try it. You can buy the Business Edition upgrade at any time and enter the license key into Silhouette Studio to unlock all of the design features. In fact there are people who use Silhouette Studio Business edition to create files and save as SVG to use with their Cricut because the Silhouette Software has more design capability. The Silhouette Software upgrades are a one time cost (not monthly or annually).
Whats with all the glitches in the video, makes it hard to watch.
Do you mean the jumps from editing? I am a crafter sharing my love of Silhouette machines. Recording myself definitely does not come naturally to me but I am trying to get better. I edit out pauses, when I say um, and I try to catch when I say the wrong thing.
I do appreciate your feedback. I am trying to do better. I will work on that.
Hopefully you were able to get some helpful information from the video.
