I think Jordan is very nice and clearly very intelligent and a kind and beautiful person and awesome mother. However Kory is right, she is talking BS when it comes to the NDP. All types of people interested in politics watch this podcast because you offer clear-headed, strategic thinking. Scott is very clear about his personal political leanings, but he is able to think and strategize in a clear-headed way, and the same is true of Kory. That is not the case with Jordan. Perhaps she needs to take a page from Jenni's book and go work for the NDP if she believes in them so fervently that she can't think clearly. I was involved in an NDP riding association during the leadership race that Jagmeet Singh won. I left soon after (and I was not alone). Jagmeet Singh did a takeover of the federal NDP and has completely ruined it. The current numbers won't hold because he will make a complete ass of himself during the election campaign. The Conservatives won't need to make a laughing stock of the NDP, Singh will do it for them, with his ridiculous attacks on grocery CEOs and all the other nonsense. In his desperation to get the left-woke vote (because that's all he can hope for) he will probably be sporting a keffiyeh on the campaign trail. Whatever it takes to keep him in Rolexes and fancy bags--nothing is too low for that hypocrite. If he ends up delaying his election until he gets his pension, he will pay for it in humiliation. I cannot wait to see what sort of dance he does when he loses his seat. The NDP will end up in fourth place, with a seatless leader. I really hope that when that happens I will be able to watch Curse of Politics without having to watch the rest of you roll your eyes/shift your gaze during a magical thinking speech by Jordan, who belongs inside an NDP campaign team, not on this show. Sorry to be harsh, but Kory inspired me.
If, as Kory says, “there are so many other climate policies on display in other countries who are doing better at meeting their climate change targets”, then why aren’t the Conservative premiers opting to implement those policies as an alternative to the carbon tax? When the Liberals brought in the carbon tax JT clearly told the premiers that if they had a viable alternative plan they could go with that but doing nothing was not an option. All I’ve heard from Pierre Pollievre is he wants to “axe the tax”. What is his plan after cutting the tax? And, BTW, can PP guarantee that companies will drop their prices so as to eliminate the full cost of the carbon tax on their products and services or will they take the opportunity to take some of that to increase profits?
Tim Houston and Wab Kinew presented alternate plans as did Brian Pallister when he was still Premier. None of them were good enough for Trudeau. He enjoys the money he collects to do whatever with.

Kory, unfortunately for the Liberals, there is only one version of Trudeau, voters have seen it, they don't like it, and that's the end of the story. Trudeau's terrible character is the one and only ballot question.
Folks, let’s not forget that we’ve read this book before. The current PM has had about 10 years in office and Canadians have grown tired of them. Remember the popularity of Trudeau Sr., Mulroney, Chrétien, and Harper at the end of their terms (and I would add Mike Harris in Ontario, in contrast to Bill Davis). In the next federal election the Liberals will be fighting to avoid the same fate as the Mulroney/Kim Campbell PCs. Will we see the BQ as the official opposition again because if Quebec doesn’t vote Liberal or NDP they’ll be going with the BQ.
@Tomyum19 I completely disagree that Harper was still popular at the end of his term. Chrétien was less unpopular because the majority of Canadians agreed with his refusal to join the US in the war in Iraq but the sponsorship scandal and his arrogant attitude toward the Gomery Inquiry did impact his popularity. Ultimately it was more about the Liberal Party as a whole being unpopular at that time.
@Tomyum19 Oh Tom, what did we say about writing essays?! Tsk tsk tsk. And I see we're pushing more false narratives? A little revisionism without any sources? Just prior to the election in June 2015 62% of Canadians disapproved of the job Harper was doing (Ekos poll). A 2013 Poll had him at an approval rating of 23%. Harper was deeply unpopular. The CPC still led in the polls leading up to the 2015 election but that was inspite of Harper, not because of him. The only PM with a lower approval rating than Harper was Mulroney in 1992. Facts don't care about your feelings, big fella.
