BREAKING NEWS POD: Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner | Curse of Politics
I love Scott - been following him since the Paul Martin days..Love the stories that involve a bit of alcohol!42
Trump and Tariff Rhetoric is equal to carbon tax. Trump is stealing carbon tax because we show as liberals we afford it. Don't tax your people if you can't be taxed yourself... Liberals gotta go
Premiers in Washington is Retardation
Kory is missed terrible. He needs his own show. All you people gotta go
This guy is dreaming of a Liberal win!! Bahaha!! Good Riddance to all these Liberal Losers in government !! (From a former Liberal suporter)
I thoroughly enjoy this Podcast. I don't care much about the Ontario election as I live way out West on Vancouver Island. I'm a Fiscal Conservative and Social Moderate and your pod is so entertaining and even enlightening at times. LOL
You reside in a beautiful place.
Even sounding like the political Grinch, Herle manages to stick handle the great guest panel (albeit a bit more grumpily than usual) to a great podcast. Get well soon David & thanks to everyone for the early mornings to help keep us politi-geeks informed!
Gary is a reason to say no to AI
Conservatives are never a choice for defense. Harper years they spent the lowest as a percentage of GDP. I dont get how people can trust the conservatives and defense spending
You just can’t figure these liberal/NDP‘s, cancel the Starlink contract because why on earth would you want to give people without access to the Internet in the year 2025 when they can just keep living like it’s 1950, And then put 100% tariffs on Tesla electric vehicles when these are the parties that don’t want gasoline engines anymore it just makes no sense which is typical so I don’t even know why I’m questioning it.
Scott seriously…. Trudeau doesn’t announce when he’s in Alberta or SK for years!
12:54 It is the most NDP thing that their leaders have names that allow then to start a, "well, actually..."
Scott’s mad at Pierre for not talking to a premier and Trudeau wouldn’t meet with them as a collective for 7 years and waited until he wanted to be captain Canada to meet with them. 😂
Hey Scott, we know you're a blind Liberal for life, but imagine starting to lay out your platform and stating an intention to work together, and having someone try to spin this into some incredible scandal. The Conservatives are not in government, not demanding immediate compliance and you are not listening.
Jordan thinks Ford shouldn’t be asking for a federal fentanyl czar during an election campaign where the premier is currently facing an industry under a 25% tariff. Man, you liberals and “Team Canada” proponents are hell bent on making Trumps threats of annexation turn into a reality. Why is it so hard to understand that we need to be doing these things anyway and fixing our societal problems. Or do you actually not care about solving our problems and helping people. 😂
32:25 Just say No! to "Gary"
Health care hasn't punched through, but let me put it this way it's the economy stupid. Fight affordability and the economy at the same time. Talk about stuff like Ontario having one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. Come up with actual things to do on those issues. The NDP are the closest to doing this they are just missing the boat when they say they'll give out money to people for groceries. What they need to be doing is talking a out how they'll improve the economy in order to bring down prices. It could be improving supply lines or something, anything. Also when you don't have an issue that's standing out in the data, that's when you need a leader to actually lead. Stand up pick a direction and make decisions, be bold take some risks not play it safe and try a few things. Bonnie Crombie doesn't seem interested in being that kind of a leader, Marit Stiles has shown a bit of that in the past but we haven't really seen it this election. Yes elections are generally when people play it safe etc but when your doing this badly it's better to start taking risks. It's hard to do worse than be unofficial party again
By the way, the amount of times Trudeau doesn't talk to Priemiers and Mayors is fantastic
I was about to comment that. It's rich of Scott to talk shit on Pierre but God forbid he recall when Trudeau came to Alberta that has almost 5 million people and didn't let our Premier know. Scott you can do better. Jordan keep up the gaslighting.😂
I know everyone wanted to keep the sex shows in Germany
1:21 He's probably dying inside doing this ad lmao. Enbridge paying for you all to even be here. Love it!
The NDP deserves better, but the issue is lack of awareness about Marit Stiles who is a talent. They need ads and the lack of a leadership race (to generate awareness) is coming back to haunt them. The other issue is candidate selection. Apart from Sault Ste Marie and Ottawa Centre, no city councillors running for the NDP.
Ontario has a housing crisis because Ontarions throw a hissy fit when Ford suggests redeveloping a swamp. Then they move east or west to destroy a different housing market. Build a wall around Ontario and make Ontario pay for it.
Voters want change but have no intention of changing their vote tells me that the other parties are not offering alternatives. Either they appear to be just offering more of the same or offering the type of change no one wants.
First time listener; What's up with the constant interruptions? This is borderline unlistenable when the flow of the conversation keeps coming to a screeching halt. You need to cut way back on the ad breaks or put them all together or something, what you're doing now just doesn't work.
Ha! Scott, you putz!! He's gonna get Musk to do it!
OREA ad at 24:00 - didn't disclose that Deb Hutton is married to the President of that org. Clearly a conflict of interest.
I think your polls are BS. Most others have the OLP over 30. That jives with what I'm seeing.
Old NDP voters like myself have seen these poll number all sorts of times in the past. I remember so many bad things being said about Layton and how he should be dumped, before he had his breakthrough. Can I put in a different plug for a kind of electoral reform arising from the conversation. If Ontario ends up without an official opposition party (and I have seen this happen in New Brunswick and BC) can that motivate us to change the rules the slightest bit to allow for diverse opposition in the case of a majority government? We all have to admit not having an opposition party of any kind is not good for democracy.
Why does Canada even need a socialist party like NDP is beyond me? Isn’t Canada supposed to be a capitalist country with few socialist policies to ensure everyone across the country get a fair shot?! If everyone is going to get everything, what is the incentive to work hard?
I would read some history before asking such questions. The government didn't just enact welfare policies for fun one day.
David, have you thought about how it might be difficult for Freeland to go after Carney, given that he is her son’s godfather?
I'd appreciate a thumbnail, title or description indicating the focus of the conversation so I can decide whether it's relevant to me. If the show is going to be about Ontario until their election is over, that's fine. I'll be back later. I'd just like to know that's the case.
that is the case
I don't believe the NDP, provincial or federal, deserve the seats they have now. The Liberals, provincially DO deserve the seats they now have. There is plenty of room, in Ontario's political wilderness, for a minivan for the provincial NDP, in non party status. So glad Kory is with Doug and Peter Bethlenfalvy. Also so glad Scott is not with the Queen of Crap & Raid.
So now its a fake Fentanyl czar? Why did Trudeau agree to it if he isnt gonna do it? I'm also not sure why people are acting like Trump is the first one to bring up the border issues. There was a bipartisan bill in the US under Biden to try to deal with it. 5 times more people on terrorist watch lists were caught crossing the border from Canada into the US than from Mexico into the US. Also lets think about the fentanyl issue for a second. That ONE super lab in BC could produce 90 million doses of fentanyl. Then there was another lab that was almost as big busted a few weeks later. Now to be clear I'm not defending Trump coming after Canada but Canada basically gave him all the ammo needed to do it by us not taking care of our border and being soft on crime. The US has also tried to help us crack down on this but when they request doing wire taps they are told that the people they want to wire tap would need to be notified. Like how insane is that? You have high level cartel and organized crime groups in Canada and instead of going after them we seem to protect them. Our banks have also been involved in the money laundering aspect.
Sorry folks, yes i believe people want change, but our selection of candidates for OLP, NDP, OPC. Doesn't make you want to go to the polls because they all stink.
Happy birthday to Jordan’s mom indeed. She certainly did raise a kind and considerate human being.
Why am I not surprised that Jordan’s knee jerk reaction to any sort of tariff is a “bailout package “ for workers….does anyone remember the CERB???!! God forbid we actually try and compete……
51:24 ummm , the boring company has already built a tunnel under LA and Vegas.
Marit has to propose something big and exciting that gets people talking around the water cooler. That is the only way she can get out of these doldrums she is in. Something even a little controversial would do. I would suggest announcing free public transit and running hard on that this week. That might differentiate them enough from the liberals and give ppl a reason to commit their votes to them
If that doesn’t work, go full on controversial. Announce a plan for a new airport in Pickering. That would make a lot of ppl mad. But most importantly it would get people talking about the party, and have people taking a look at their other policies. Marit has unfortunately been completely lost in the sauce. At least the controversy of this would make her known, differentiate her from the the fed NDP/Liberals and give her the publicity she so desperately needs
How about the opposition talking about the Conservatives being poor stewards of public funds? There are plenty of examples that annoy people, and it ties into affordability.
Jagmeet needs to go on a diet.
You Liberals, I don't get how a party that once had the best backroom thinkers and tricksters is allowing this leadership to go past Family Day. Pull the plug now, make the endorsements and call the vote for Mar 28. Trump is the spoon full of sugar to make the horrible taste of the Trudeau era go down. If Carney performs, it's a majority if he can't, waiting won't change it.
34:52 going negative on healthcare only gets people mad at the federal liberals and their immigration policies.
Without question, classified CIA intelligence on the Trudeau gov't and its leadership contenders is informing Trump's perspective on Canada and how to deal with it. I imagine THE big worry for the Liberals and the presumptive PM, Carney, is what damaging information will be unclassified and leaked to the media during an election.
How are the Nanos numbers so different?
Nanos is a Liberal partisan.
Because he is an LPC propagandist.
@Poppinwheeeeellllllieeeeez It's the LPO
Jordan, NDP will have no party status federally. All your justification will not alter (focus) dipper votes
wow diversity left left left commie ndg lol
ABC - Anybody but Carney.
ABC has a long history in Canadian politics. You can try and co-opt it but it'll always stand for "Anything But Conservative".
@@stratford374 Vote4Pierre.
@@jakew305 But that would go against the golden rule of ABC.
@@stratford374 Fake golden rule.
@@stratford374Moron rule!!
The problem the Liberals have is that Gerald Butts and Justin Trudeau picked Carney for leader because he will continue the climate agenda, but on steroids. Carney will not kill the carbon tax, rather hi states he will hide it; he is dedicated to fight against the war on woke, continue DEI, and accelerating the transition to a net zero gulag, making sure that all Canadians are included in collective suffering of poverty, hunger and cold. Bottom line is that Canadians are not stupid-they understand that Carney does not represent change, he represents more of what they got over the last 9 or 10 years.
One party of progress-lefts with no party funding to research how to think.
The NID's major problem is their leader, Jagmeet Singh. When he speaks, what most Canadians hear is "blah blah blah blah"....
