Politics from the inside, out. Get beyond the talking points and explore the big ideas changing our politics, culture and the world. We’ll hear from the players in the game in a way that traditional media can’t deliver: unfiltered and without limits. It’ll take all of us-listening to each other and understanding where we’re at-to bridge the seemingly widening divide in society. Partisan, non-partisan, it’s all here at Air Quotes Media.

Trudeau Gotta Go. So does Freeland and the Tariffs are fixed
I think the next election should be about the Best in Trade.
Canada attempting to play tough with the US is hilarious. WTF are they thinking?
Yes ❤🎉!!
Secure your border! Stop the flow of illegals and fentanyl. It’ll be cheaper than what you’ll lose if Trump puts a tariff on you!
feel free to support your own military then
Idiots
Blame it on Trudeau!!! That is where Canada's problem is.
On the other hand, Trudeau made trade deals with asia ,the uk and had a pipeline built to the bc coast ,so we aren't slaves to the U S .. but yeah haters going to hate
Great interview with a stand up guy. Thanks
Trump's not doing deals with Venezuela. That would be suicide. Stop spreading rumors
Well then tell pierre that we need equal trade. Canada needs to stop ripping of the States in trade deals. Or we can do as Trump said and make Canada the 51st state? Then the USC or untited states Canada could annex Mexico!
Now people are thinking of more tangible stuff instead of their feelings.
BS. Accusing Trump of something he hasn't done, may never do, but we're supposed to be scared to death that he might.
I don't really care what these people from Canada have to say. We elected President Trump to Make AMERICA Great Again, Not Canada, Not Mexico, Not AnyFuckingPlace Else 😮 These other Countries better realize that the Days of Old, where Democrats and RINO's bent the knee to the NWO are DONE
TRUDEAU and the rest of his lying corrupt incompetent liberal government as well the pathetic ndp LAP DOGS THAT PROP THEM UP NEED TO BE CANCELLED and charged with fraud and TREASON
Trump has declared economic war on the entire world. Surely we can find an ally or two.
how about if Trudeau just vacates the position of Prime Minister, and let anyone else deal with Trump ... we will have a better outcome
don't know if you keep guys up, but one of the biggest fentanyl labs was broken up in a little town in the middle of B.C. ... most likely precursors brought in on a boat from China ... don't tell me that it all comes from the U.S.
You cats are idiots ... the Canadian boarder could use a lot of fixing up just for the sake of ourselves; let alone trying to appease Trump
quit talking about how wrong Trump is with his thoughts on tariffs ... he couldn't care less ... just get busy at the boarder and we will be fine ... don't be such scaredy cats ... don't need to take Trump too literally ... just take him seriously
HOW ABOUT WE JUST HAVE A BLOODY ELECTION!!!
maybe we should kindly ask the truckers to go back to Ottawa and do some good old honking again ... run Trudeau out of town this time
This is the best pod that explains what we have lived through this week. Congratulations David Herle
Remember Freeland's smirk and giggle as she announced freezing the Truckers and supporters bank accounts. Canadians should never forgive or forget her and her overseeing of racking up a trillion $ debt.
you people are amazing. and totally out to lunch. keep it up
She plotted this in silence and screwed Canada at the worst time with a BS letter you couldn’t pay me to vote for this woman if she becomes leader of the party.
How is the Freeland letter "BS" when no one involved has attempted to dispute any of the claims that she made in said letter?
@ it’s power play that she could have made 6 months ago she didn’t just decide to do this she was waiting for the best time to do this when she thought it would further her cause the fact that she chose now says a lot about her
@@lisawarner8578 With respect, I note that you did not answer my question. To the extent that you are hinting that this was not strictly a matter of principle, you are correct. She was willing to be associated with the GST cut and the Fall Economic Statement until the last moment. But obviously the quasi-resignation happened now because the Prime Minister pre-fired her and then asked her to present the FES, so that it could look like he fired her for a deficit based on part on policies she opposed behind closed doors. She more or less refused his request This is irrefutable.
@ sorry but he did not fire her she still would have been DPM and moved to a file that was becoming the most important in Cabinet it’s not just Trump it’s the richest men in the world she would be fighting I don’t consider it a demotion it would have put her back in the spot light in a good light
@@lisawarner8578 The Prime Minister proposed to take Freeland off the biggest government department (Finance) to make her a minister without any department whatsoever (there is no department of Canada-U.S. relations). That's a clear humiliating demotion for someone who had been such a loyal soldier. Consider by contrast that Trudeau at least gave Jody Wilson-Raybould an actual government department (Veterans Affairs) when he took away her Attorney General position. Taking Freeland off of Finance may have been justifiable given the political climate, but asking her to first voluntarily fall on a sword by presenting the unpopular deficit should not have been expected to fly.
I find it curious NO ONE thinks of a true coalition govt as the solution to Canada’s current political vulnerability right now. Forget a coalition cabinet, run it till Oct 25 and remove the confidence uncertainty, so we can strongly negotiate w US. This hasn’t occurred to these political minds????
Some pretty dark stuff!
What kind of trade deal did we sign on to that a President can do this to us? I thought it was supposed to allow us entry into those markets tariff-free. Why did Trudeau sign us onto a deal like that? Do we still have the auto pact, for instance? Have we saved a market for the dairy industry while allowing the auto deal to wither?
@@barrythompson5680 what are you talking about? The Americans can impose any tariff they want. A trade deal isn’t binding.
They get around the trade deal rules by declaring a national security threat like the border and defense spending. That is what they did in Trump's first term with the steel and aluminum tariffs
@@kellybradford9149 Only in terms of bypassing congress. They have no obligation to Canada though. They can violate the trade deal with absolutely zero accountability other than retaliatory tariffs.
@@smugdug It seems binding on us.
@@smugdug Then we should get out of the so called 'deal'.
Regardless of leader, the fact that the general public do not agree with the policies especially fiscally of the party. Simple as that.
Dominic gives me a "proud to be Canadian feel" ... I could listen to him all day - thanks David - pulled at the heartstrings at the end as I lost a friend to leukemia in the mid 70's - today he most likely would have been cured, so glad Dominic survived his ANK Lymphoma!
We need friends to fight? Didn't our clown prince shutdown any G7 country, who came hat in hand, looking for our energy. The vision of this Liberal-NDP government is similar to a 3 year old. Call an election.
Doesnt matter which leader or party you support, these open discussions are a must. Its clear to all supporters, PMJT has to step aside immediately.
So why did Trudeau fire Freeland if he is interested in thwarting the tariff threat?
America will reach peak oil of shale oil in 2 years. So Canadian oil is still very important to the US economy. Don't discount our assets in western Canada.
The first thing Pierre needs to do when he wins is kill the tanker ban and announce they will approve pipelines to the coast. If anyone questions him just say "Trump seems concerned about the trade imbalance so we will try to fix that by exporting more oil to other countries". That removes any leverage Trump has.
That was a riveting discussion. The real meat was in the back half. I appreciate Brian Topp for the hard dose of reality. Let's get organized Canada!
Call your MPP. We need an internal free trade agreement, and we can't have the process stymied by federal antics.
Trudeau gave all the jobs to TFWs. The idea that he is going to protect Canadian jobs against Trump is laughable. 😂
12 months later: Scott got his oddball prediction in under the wire, and Jordan didn't predict oddball enough on the destruction of BC United.
Was waiting for someone to call out how people talked about Freeland before the resignation letter and after. People are weird.
@@peachyland1253 People dislike her before and after. It’s just the Liberal caucus that like her now.
Why does the Chamberlain appeasement attempt keep creeping into my noggin?
What is going on ?? Just a bunch of men who thinks they know what is really going on ! You are not over 50 % of the population !! Why do you not talk about the Block ?? Or the Max Bernier factor ?? With all the solar flares and solar maximum happening , perhaps people are just over reacting !! Trump is unhinged !! There are checks and balances in the USA !! TRUTH TO POWER !!
Great episode, thank you!
Holy smokes - that was awesome - fantastic panel - lots of intelligent food for thought - thanks David
I hope many Canadians watch this over the Holidays. We have already wasted 3 weeks. The light in the tunnel is getting bigger. The 25% is real and the 51st state comments are no joke. The Trump train is going to run over us economically and with no leadership, no wealth and no defence he'll brag he Putin'd us without firing a shot. He'll say to his people, " ya it was a bit of a sacrifice, but what's the bigger prize, Ukraine or CANADA"
ship of fools....extremely embarrassed for our country right now.
Yes to Dominic LeBlanc as interim PM, running as Liberal Leader next election.
@ not necessarily. He’s got that Jean Chrétien like thing going for him which many of us remember and like.
So did Jagmeet come out and say he will vote to bring the gov't down asap because he heard that Justin was going to invite Rachel Notley into his gov't, worried that this could move a lot of ND votes to the Liberals? Talk about a knife in Jagmeet's back in the finest tradition of Liberal political dirty tricks. As of today's cabinet shuffle, Rachel Notley was no where in sight, so likely that Jagmeet will stand down on his threat.
The public don’t like Freeland’s patronizing attitude. Leblanc will be more successful.
The only drama being created here is from Poilievre!
Enjoy a couple decades of CPC rule!
@ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The only drama Pierre is creating is a bigger lead in the polls every week. Fact.
Topp at 54:16 is very dismissive of the border problem, which is a priority for the U.S. Good thing he doesn't get to decide anything.
Because the northern border is not a big problem. That's why. And all the stats show that. Good thing you don't get to decide anything.
