Aman Ishaq For some reason, CGI is highly bearable when it comes to Berserk. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather not have it at all but it isn't too bad. Just gotta get used to it. I can only do that because it is Berserk, though.
Yeah I feel exactly the same after having watched all the movies and the Berserk 2016 Anime, I have gotten used to the CGI however that wasn't my only problem with the anime as I felt the pacing was off nonetheless though, I am very hyped for season 2!
Aman Ishaq I am only on episode 4 of the 2016 anime because I have been waiting until the season is over and I am just now getting to it. Why do you feel the pacing was off? Do you feel like it moved too fast? So far, the pacing is fine but I will wait until I watch the whole season to come up with my final thoughts. I'm at the beginning of the fantasia arc when it comes to the manga though. I'm just guessing but I think season 2 is going to cover the millenial falcon arc? So far season 1 is covering conviction arc I see.
Yeah I felt that the anime was progressing too quickly and didn't give enough time for character or plot development (they did also skip the lost children arc) overall however I really enjoyed watching it and I do think that season 2 will be even better.
+Griffith Femto GRIFFITH! But on another note I completely agree. I feel the Berserk (1997) anime was a breath of fresh air. Honestly this might sound kinda cheesy but it helped me get into reading the manga.
Idk about this, nothing was really original or fresh, just a different version of some other story tweaked in various areas. . I do agree on how much more creative Berserk and older anime is compared to the newer stuff you see now.
JJBA's manga actually started in the late 80's as many other great classic series though. It just took a long time to finally have a full anime adaptation (and for what I've read, because Araki was pretty reluctant to allow one). I haven't seen Drifters (honestly, I'm not very attracted by its premise) so I can't say anything about it, but OPM is definitely one of the few really creative and well done manga/anime I've seen in the last years.
+Solitary Wolf That is true, and it is amazing how so many people ignore that fact and start shitstorms accusing some stories to be "ripoffs" when they ignore the ones they are defending as "original" might be also another ripoff to some extent, they are just unaware of what story they borrow ideas from. For example, I just realized that Berserk's author was heavily inspired by an old manga called Devilman from Go Nagai (one of the fathers of manga BTW) and it has striking similarities when it comes to the dark, supernatural tones, the two main characters characterization and their development. Miura obviously bothered to add his original touches and twists according to the world context of Berserk, but the inspiration is undeniable.

Even if the world is bleak and full of suffering, it's important to stay strong with focus and discipline. The reality of the world is cruel, but the reality of our own life can be changed, as long as you believe in your dream. “Is he living his dreams in death? Or.. is death the end of dreams?”
Amazing man, I think some people may just look at it as "just a manga with plot twists and gore", but Miura was actually tackling a lot of issues that one may encounter in life while also keeping it fiction.
when this song popped up after eclipse was the most surreal thing ever. Sometimes I like to imagine that berserk actually ended with the eclipse and skull knight didn't help neither guts or casca, kind of fits in a grim way to this manga. Guts being someone that lived all of his life by the sword while passing through terrific things right until his demise.
Hearing this after the fade out in "Eclipse" It's something.
I literally just sat there processing the info for like 2 minutes, then I jumped around my room shouting "What??!!!"
Crying my eyes out just sobbing "...why?!". Damn...
Just experienced this. Wow
And then the BlackSwordsman walks into the darkness not saying a word. Imagine just watching that in 97 and needing to wait 20 years
Very dark ending not even the skull guy shows up
