PCQ: You need to change your training plans. Put the main 11 team on a balanced or energy-focused plan, that way even with back to back matches your players won't be that exhausted. Also, put the other players that you don't use that frequently on a performance-focused plan, so that whenever you rotate the squad you won't suffer with players having low sharpness as well.

When you play the smaller teams, try and score as many goals as possible to boost your goal difference
If you put development plans on the youngs it would help them grow quickly and key areas.

Macatee is very young with 80+ potential
Try pushing the wing backs up a bit up to nearly Rm for more attacking stability
Loan with option to buy for young potential talents might also help, player swaps to get rid of players you don’t want and get the ones you want maybe for better prices. Youth academy. And good development plans. Can really help you build your team despite low budget. Especially when you do all this in pre season before the first match. Might help a lot for a next fixing series
I think you should change to 4-1-2-1-2 and start mcattee in cam, bench trusty, and see how things play out with the new formation
You should convert Vinicius Souza to a cb and use mcatee and coulibaly in the midfield. In my Sheffield United career mode, souza was very good at the back
