Found your Tutorial most engrossing.as u explained each shade with so much care..so that one knew exactly how to lighten, darken..tips that would be so hard to come by otherwise.
Another fantastic tutorial, thanks Tom. I first found you searching for help with painting wildlife, and your elephants are brilliant. But now I'm really loving all your birds!
Your birds are always my favorites Tom. I’ll be doing this this afternoon. Tried my hand at your charcoal Pied Avocet yesterday.Messy, but such fun. As always, Thx
I've just signed up to your school, Tom, and am excited to get started. Will you be moving your kingfisher tutorial to the school as I don't see it there?
Hi Tom, thank you very much for these great tutorials! I cannot wait to watch another one of these "old" (new for me) videos. When is coming the next one? :)
Loved this, just what I have been looking for. I have signed up for free taster membership - is the reference photo and/or the drawing available? Can’t wait to get going!
Thank you for another lovely bird! Thank you for talking a bit about the ‘splatter’ or ‘spatter’ technique. I still have issues with trying to get the size of spatter I want on a painting. Which brush do you suggest is best to practice this?
Thanks, Leonie. Yes, a lovely palette. There’s not actually a brand on it but if you go on Amazon (even if you dint buy from there it will give you an idea) and search “aluminium watercolour palette “...it will come up. I use a 20well version and it’s the aluminium which I like (as opposed to plastic)...T
In fact here’s a link to the sort of thing www.amazon.co.uk/Color-Around-Aluminum-Watercolor-Palette/dp/B01MU9XM03/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=UK53XDZ2REH5&keywords=aluminium+watercolour+palette&qid=1678050016&sprefix=aluminium+watercolour+%2Caps%2C145&sr=8-3
Thanks Brenda. Those little spots actually came from using a fine misting bottle when nearly dry. I also splash clean water into dark drying washes for similar effect and sometimes even use my mouth to spray fine most of water on areas...I tried salt a few times and couldn’t get it to work so haven’t yet revisited it!!

Hi Tom Thank you for your sharing! how do you use salt in this painting in order to make the little water mark spot?
Thanks Brenda. Those little spots actually came from using a fine misting bottle when nearly dry. I also splash clean water into dark drying washes for similar effect and sometimes even use my mouth to spray fine most of water on areas...I tried salt a few times and couldn’t get it to work so haven’t yet revisited it!!
@@tomshepherdartist use mouth! surprise and appreciate!
