The thing about Robyn's music is that, even when it's sad, even if there's regret, the music gives a feeling that it's possible to move on from those difficult times and learn and grow from them. You mourn what you've lost, but then you celebrate that you're still alive, and finally you move on. There's a sense of triumph in overcoming and understanding.

She´s creating pop music the way that it should be. Eventough we have waited 8 years between the "Body Talk" albums and the "Honey" album, she still releases great songs and almost each of her album raises the bar for pop stars. Robyn is one of hell of a singer and performer. I enjoy her music and her performances very much and I can´t wait to see what else the new era brings. Robyn is back and stronger than ever!!! :)

Watching these performances after her 2011 performances, there's so much more melancholy in her voice and face now. It's really beautiful, but so sad that you can see she has been literally marked by depression.

That's why celebrities feel lone. Lots of screaming strangers saying they love you when they've never met you just because they like your art or the way you look is, isolating. It's not an experience other people will understand or can relate to and it isn't enough to mend a broken heart or be a cure for personal grief

It's refreshing to see a female pop artist not use her body/overt sex to sell her genius. Sadly, not selling her body is likely why she's never 'broken into' the mainstream American pop lexicon. She's making pop music the way it should be: fresh, inventive, fun, emotional and new.

There's a great article in The Guardian around the time Honey came out. Upshot is, she's had to take years of shit and direction from manager/label to reach the point where she's not a product but an artist that's really appreciated. We might see a similar trajectory in many women artists' careers, sadly
I agree Robyn is fabulous, but there are a good chunk of female pop stars right now who are not the typical body type of a pop star. Meghan Trainor, Lizzo, Adel, Sia, etc. With the death of MTV as a music source being hot is less important now than it was in the 90s and 00s.
