    I know that these trucks are driven across the whole country with loaded trailers many times, but it’s still crazy to see over 200k miles on any vehicle that’s a year old. It’s still 2020, and this truck is a 2020 model with 200k!

    • @azk5071
      @azk5071  4 года назад +8

      200k Miles for this truck that's just the break in period, but they will run to a million miles. but yes you are right for a 2020 year model 200k miles is crazy to see

      The thing about Volvos is that they introduce the new model year more than 6 months early. So a “one year old” truck could easily have been in service for 18 months or more. 200K in 18 months is actually taking it pretty easy.

    I bought the 770 VNL 1999 Model from Arrow Truck Sales in New Jersey in 2000, after owning a KW T600 1993 model from 1996 to 2000. I sold the VNL 770 in 2004, and bought a Century Class Freightliner 2002 model from 2004 to 2008. I bought the same truck you have now in 2008 I was a VNL780 2006 model. I sold it in 2015. I loved it so much that I bought my second VNL780 2014 Model. fortunately its got the 13 speed manual. I have 680K miles on it, and now I am not sure if I want to buy another one. I have been in the trucking game sine 1996, and I am looking for an exit strategy from the industry with a soft landing. Thank you for the video. You have a beautiful truck. Your steering tire a classic Volvo issue. The front end is heavy. My 1999 VNL 770 had a 475 CAT, right before Volvo and Cat had a big breakup and that was terrible for warranty work. That truck was 13000 lbs empty on the steers. You go to Volvo and they tell you to take it to CAT and vice versa. That was one of the reasons I went Freightliner in 2004. Anyways, take care of it. You will get a good resale once its paid for. I always have had people wanting to buy my trucks as I take good care of them. It helps. All the Best.

    My wife and I drive a 2018 and it’s been a electrical nightmare. Been without heat in the bunk for 2 yrs we gave up and use a hair dryer for heat.. check light light stays on all the time. They clear it and as so as we get back on the road it comes back on so I finally fixed it myself with a peace of black tape can’t see it no more. Cabinet door hinges came apart. It’s not uncommon for the driver side steer tire to wear faster. This happens on many trucks. My solution is to replace the steers at the start of every winter. That way I have the most tread depth in the worst conditions. I move those used tires to my trailer but one could also sell them as used and get more than just a casing credit.

    This truck looks awesome and runs pretty decent but from my experience the 2020 is really flimsy and faulty. I think Volvo was more concerned about esthetics (red/blue led lights) than durability. The wipers stall, air conditioner fan is unreliable after a full day driving often won't blow, been fixed twice still same thing, the closet doors completely stopped latching, hazard lights malfunctions, if you're driving high speed and let the window down sometimes the wind will blow the glass off line and window won't go back up. I could go on and on 🤐 🤫lol but hope you've been having better luck with yours! Looks really nice 😊

    • @azk5071
      @azk5071  3 года назад

      I also experienced most of these problems, The built quality isn't as good as it used to be because of high demand for trucks nowadays and manufacturers can't keep up with the quality check.

      Volvo eu models seem to hold much better interior wise even in 3rd world countries.. we have mining trucks of scana and volvo in oparation and they have made more than a million miles in 10yrs yet the interior is holding up, yes it's patched up at every corner and the trucks here are always loaded over their gvw and drivers floor them . Already developed holes in exhaust system and all but still running everyday up and down the coal mines. And the oparators wouldn't be spending 2x on volvo or scania if they could have gone away with cummins or mercedes powered TATA trucks.

    Great you like you’re truck,
    I have 780 with 900000mi, it’s braking down to often but I bought it with 6000000mi,
    Could you help me to find a good deal please?
    I live in Houston TX

      These trucks do good till about 600,000 miles and then it starts to need more major repairs and maintenance. Any truck pretty much is like that if you want a more reliable truck just buy with lower mileage. I would recommend to get a truck with 300,000 miles if your starting off, you will get to drive a lot and you can also get a good deal on the price

    Watch your idling because that's what kills your emissions equipment faster than anything

    2018 300K Volvo VNL 760. Bad oil sensor, wiper motor issues, bad led strap on headlights, water leak on upper small cabin window. Very poor engine break performance on 7% grade when loaded.

    Truck is good ... But person is some kind of cyborg. Even team drive . You will be retired before your truck .... and unlike the truck. Your health guarantee cannot be extended or a new spine can be purchased . Think about that...
