Pretty much the only difference between Platinum and non-platinum is the rechargeable batteries. The orange bot is a repaint of the original Tank chassis Hexbug released last year. All the parts for it can be applied to the other Build-Your Own Bot toys. Bit of a warning though: That Tombstone has proven to be capable of breaking pieces off the other toys. Not just pulling the pieces out of holes but actually breaking them off or causing damage to them that shouldn't happen. That drum should be interchangeable too if it's like the one that came with the original Tank chassis. The right arm can pull apart, allowing you to swap the drum out for something better (though other drums are generally exclusive to the Drum Accessory Pack or one of the other chassis' included drums)
I was thinking of getting my niece this, but after seeing this, I want a hexbug battle bots tournament (with a copperhead bot) with the actual bot drivers, even just for fun or charity.
It's just amazing how much planning and design goes into the packaging. Once again, not at all surprised, just never really paid that much attention to it before.
I really like the previous hexbug battlebots already, especially BiteForce and Witch Doctor ^^ However the new are yet another step up, the amount of detail is pretty great, especially at the scale. I wonder if you could "tune" them with new motors or electronics o.O
Man, I’d have loved for Hexbug to reach out to some of the other content creators to review the new sets too, seeing as we’ve had to source them ourselves for years to review them, often paying additional shipping fees and import duty…
Theyre really cute, I dunno how you'd decide who won considering they can't actually damage eachother meaningfully, and id rather you didn't have to manually run the hammers (optical sensor would work well) but yah...super cute
Personally, these are the rules my family and I like to use whenever we play with these fantastic little things. A. You can win by “KO” via the following ways: 1. Knocking off all three of your opponents detachable pieces. 2. Getting your opponent out of the arena (which is possible with how low the arena walls are). 3. Getting your opponent stuck in a position in which they can’t move (getting stuck on a piece of one of the bots, high centered on a wall, jammed in the screws, etc). B. Each match last three minutes (we usually just set a timer on our phones for this). If both robots are perfectly mobile and each still have at least one piece when the time runs out then the winner is the bot with the most amount of pieces still attached (if they each have the same amount of pieces then we consider it a tie).
So those generic bots actually do have a use, it's stupid easy to design new spinners and weapons for them, just printing with a high infill to give it extra weight goes a very long way to give them more of a fighting chance.
@Robert Cowan how many decibles does copperheads drum hum go up to? Also, can you get in contact with will bales and ask how many MPH hypershock can reach?
So I am enough of a knife nerd to know that is a spyderco, and I think it has titanium scales, but I was wondering what specific model it is. At first I thought it was a spydiechef like I have, but the geometry isn't quite right and I see the jimping on there, which the spydiechef does not have. Care to enlighten me?
@@RobertCowanDIY I must say that I have never even HEARD of that model so thank you for saving me from the time and brain strain of trying to figure it out myself XD Do you own several quality knives or do you keep it to a simple few?
The Whiplash/Sawblaze set is $79 MSRP, the arena with Tombstone 3.0 and the orange Create-a-Jobber is $119 MSRP, so yeah, both togethr would be just under $200 before taxes/shipping.
You have no idea how fast I would purchase a Copperhead Hexbug.
Ha, same!
Yep, big rubber tires ^^
Same
If it ever pops out, i'm first in line :))
If not, i might 3D print a model.
Which kinda sadly doesn't exist yet

The packaging is what's known as the "MOMMY!! MOMMY!! BUY THIS FOR ME!!" Factor.
(also known as "Mid Life Crisis Bait"... Smirk)
It's just amazing how much planning and design goes into the packaging. Once again, not at all surprised, just never really paid that much attention to it before.
After this review, i think it's fair to say we won't see a hexbug toy Coppehead for a looong time :-)
this is where you definitely should make copperhead in the same scale and fight
I really like the previous hexbug battlebots already, especially BiteForce and Witch Doctor ^^

You definitely can but they are pretty tightly packed and well designed, it would be very different but not exactly impossible

The email was strange, I thought it was a scam at first. I replied, never got a response and a couple months later a box just showed up.
Time to get 3d printing to make your own copperhead. Can use the parts from the no name bot.
I mean, I have the real life Copperheads already. I just want an actual toy.
What kind of teams are competing here? No one is on the pulverizes!!😳😳
Newbies, that's who.
You sure that orange one isn't Copperhead? I can't tell the difference...
Loved this review, thank you! I think i’m going to purchase just because I’m a big fan of these three bots.
Glad I could help!

@@teamgetwreckedcombatrobots776 i like those rules.
Basically, remove the 3 panels and it's a KO for the opponent. I would've liked a kill switch like on the Tech4Kids toys though.
Can anyone confirm if these are a fun toy for kids…they look cool but do they work and worth the money.

Ah yeah, I never thought to make my own attachments, but that's a good idea.
2:53 Nice Spyderco Techno!
Good eye!
@@RobertCowanDIY was wondering if it is the techno or the spydiechef.
@@oris2252 Techno version 1.
Would be really cool if you had a hexbug copperhead with like Endgame as the other toy
I would LOVE to have a Copperhead hexbug.
the sawblaze looks so good

Guys I think Robert might not know what he’s doing with unboxing videos but I’m not positive
So true. Should I have talked about each step in taking apart the packaging?!
Tombstone can an will yeet peices

the shelf is a conspiracy to sell a new and updated arena
Ha! Probably. I haven't heard anything about a new arena. I wonder if they'll just make an add-on for existing toys?
@@RobertCowanDIY Might as well add extra screws and hammers and dub it the Hazard Accessory Pack.
