I still can't get over that liftgate. It's my favorite part of your build....

Its fun to try and decide what to do with it :)

I know I'm a little late but hopefully you are still checking this. I'm doing something very similar but I'm nervous that as soon as I take mine off road the box will snap when the frame articulates. Did you take this into consideration? If so what did you do to counter that. As my mounting points are about the exact same as yours.

Hi! Yes, I built about 7 inches of travel into each mounting point. There are simple springs that compress when the frame flexes. I’ve had it in some pretty hairy situations, and nothing has gone wrong. I did build the box extra stiff, I can lift it up from one corner, and nothing flexes on the box itself.

Do you have a video showing the mounts with springs attached? I was thinking on mine I would just mount the front with some really beefy mount and then on the back I would get truck airbag shocks. As the rear is basically all that flexes.

The middle is actually where you see the most flex, not the rear... Check out how dump truck mounts are made, fixed rear and floating front. For me it was just as easy to make matching captured spring mounts along the sides and both corners. Works great and I can also level the habitat separate while parked. If you fix one end, you are stuck with how level your parking spot is :)
Check out the later videos in the series to get a look at the springs mounted.@@longspeakmoto

@NateVolk do you have a specific video that you think best shows them? My box is pretty stiff made of fiberglass with steal beams and a steal floor but I would rather not be on some nasty road to find out it wasn't as strong as I needed.

    Inflatable hot tub!!!
That thing is lookin REALLY good. You probably don't wanna hear this...but I'm gonna suggest painting the roof a lighter color. Like white, some kinda yellow or even that damn beige color that our trucks are painted. That gray is gonna get HOT in the Mexican sun. And nobody will see the roof.
I did that on the roof of the tugboat I run and it made the internal temp about 10 deg cooler on a 95 deg day. Went from red to white.

From what I've found with these liner products is that they actually help insulate a bit. My friend has a black truck, and in full sun on a hot day you can rest your hand on it and its barely warm. Quite a bit different than paint. But, now that it is waterproofed and protected, I can coat it in something else if I need to. I'll also have a pretty big solar array on the roof to help shade it too. I've used the reflective elastomeric paints in the past and they work pretty good. Thanks for the tip!

That’s right, I remember now that the raptor has microspheres in it. Which would help to insulate, in addition to deaden sound. But solar panels would add shade with an air gap, which is about the best possible way to keep a structure cool.

Greetings, it appears you have a large piece of rubber between the box and the chassis frame (4:08)
What you share what type of material this is?

Yep, just 3/4 rubber strip by 3" wide. McMaster Carr
