3am locked out of my room, after getting back in I dropped the thin piece of metal on my bed and went to the bathroom. Not before I shut my door again. Luckily I had another piece of plastic 😅
Last few months I have been getting packages stolen constantly inside apartment building. Thought it was an inside tenant so I installed cameras. It's someone slipping the front door latch (which isn't a deadlatch!)
The video is called "how to _bypass_ a deadlatch". The shimming technique is a type of Bypass attack, because the lock isn't directly manipulated. It's sometimes also referred to as 'loiding in the locksport community, because people used to use celluloid photography/video film to perform the attack; film is engineered to be very flexible but also strong enough to withstand getting dragged through camera/projector mechanism at high speed, so it's ideal for this purpose.
Thank you! I accidentally locked out myself of my bedroom and this helped me🤙😎

Thanks for watching, hope it helped!
So the video is called how to open deadlatch but you don't actually open deadlatch? Good idea for fishing the views!

@@sixstringedthing don't be so pedantic. You still don't bypass the deadlatch, you disable it before you close the door.
