I love the look, feel, and accuracy of my .336. I never hunt it hit though. I’ve had light primer strike a bunch, and can’t seem to fully fix it. Careful cleaning, polishing the split bolt helped a lot but I still never trust it fully. I’m going to have to buy one piece fp. Thanks for the tip.
Anytime you have a hang fire you should really wait awhile before opening the action. I noticed you were also looking into the action as you opened it. The few times I’ve had it happen I point the breech down towards the bench away from your face. On a bolt gun I open the bolt with a sand bag on top of the breech just in the rare instance there’s a hang fire rather than just a light primer strike.
Who was that Gunsmith who slapped that scope on that Marlin? I would definitely buy new factory ammunition and invest in a quality rifle scope. Those Tasco scopes sold at K-Mart for $18 dollars back in the early 90’s.
Sorry you were having problems but thanks for sharing the video. I enjoyed watching you work through the issues. It was also informative.
old dog,new trick,,,thanks for sharing
Had the same problem. One piece firing pin solved the problem. Not worried about it firing out of battery.

I had the same problem with mine.. put a one piece firing pin in it and it’s all better now

Yeah, I would have left the problem and taken it back to the gunsmith and demanded he refund my money! Unacceptable!
