How Tauros can ACTUALLY beat Pokemon Blue on Minimum Battles.

- Tauros is the king of Gen 1 OU. But in solo runs, Brock blocks the it hard. Tauros also doesn't have egg moves in Gen 2 and as a Pokemon that doesn't learn Water Gun, skipping Brock to go to Mt. Moon is not an effective strategy. But there is one way it can beat the game without level grinding....

Brock through walls! o/
The idea of a massive bull that can freeze you is both funny and amazing!
RBY is back with another one 🔥🔥🔥
I think if you have to use a skip for a tm, then that TM should be listed as a broken tm.
What if you deduct 1 point for each trainer you have to skip before you get back to the legal progression
“Would that deduct dozens of points from Tauros”
:)
Yessirrrr
Tauros is a good pokemon in competitive ,but an okay one as a solo runner. Unlike Snorlax and Chansey , it didn't have a set up move or a great special stat to work with in the late game.
But it had a one hit ko move which made some battles a little bit easier,if the game gives you the luck that you need.😅
The Brock though walls series is getting interesting, for sure.😮 Getting blizzard or other powerful tms should have be penalized accordingly to thier base power. For example,a move like water gun which has 40 base power should deduct 1.5 points in my opinion, because Brock though walls is still different from playing the game as it is. But a move like blizzard that is very powerful should cost more points, more than a broken tm, I think that 12 points should sound about right.
I think assuming you couldn't beat Brock at 13 is probably a mistake. It definitely seems plausible, at least. And, depending on how your ruleset works, it might be possible to pick up the EXP from the Jr Trainer and the Rare Candy in Cerulean if needed (could get knocked out by a wild Pokemon, or maybe even get KO'd by Poison after jumping the ledge and return to Pewter). Jrose (with more stat experience and better IV's) did beat Brock at 14, fwiw.
I'm now wondering - which pokemon requires you to "Brock through walls" the furthest in order to be able to beat Brock?
i'd say that the time required to achieve each skip is a factor. if you need to walk to cinnabar island, that's going to take more time than just going to mt. moon. so it kind of balances itself out to a degree just with that, i feel. but idk, i reckon i'd have to give it some more thought to come up with a proper solution to the problem, as it were
42:26 - Look in the top right. More people need to talk about the fact that the Rival is actually Giovanni. It explains why the Rival refused to defeat Team Rocket at Silph Co and acted to prevent the Player was progressing.
I wonder whether Tauros could beat Brock on level 15 or even 13. The badge boost might be enough to get you through rival 2. The endgame would get harder though, so not sure whether it's worth doing
Shame it doesn't learn Mega Punch. I mean hoofs are sort of hands...maybe.
I'm LOVING! this series lol keep it up man!
26:25 holy mono track there batman
Mess with the horns you get the Brock through walls
This week it's the turn of Tauros
Mess with the bull, you get the oh gosh!
13:17 gen 1 shiny Charmeleon?
Question: since Snorlax is a required encounter, why not knock it out for exp? Or would that count towards the minimum battles if you don’t run
THIS
Counts towards battles if you don't run. Same idea as with a random battle.
Fake
Nah dude, if it requires trading to set up a glitch that's against the spirit of a solo run. Also not "minimum battles" if you need to catch an extra mon
“Minimum required to beat the game” is not the same thing as “the number of mandatory trainers in the game.” Using “against the spirit of ___” as a legitimate argument is the biggest tell of a casual out there lmao
Also, if you are willing and able to use a glitch to bypass some trainers, even if you only do it temporarily, they become optional trainers in my book. He could've gone to the Elite Four instead (though obviously winning there would've been impossible), setting the new minimum battles to the part before Brock thru Walls plus the Elite Four and champion.
@@alexspeedwagon3701 lmao dude, with that logic literally any mon can beat the game with "minimum" number of battles by pure definition, how pointless is that
@@Hoxeel Exactly. At this point we might aswell just do a credits warp and call it a day
@@alexspeedwagon3701 What a vapid argument. It is literally listed in his solo challenge rules that he is not supposed to use glitches.
But sure, I can win with a metapod on minimum battles. I'll just do a credits wrongwarp, boom, I am done. Amazing. Fantastic. And since we're there, even the runner agrees that there is such a thing as against the spirit of the run, else he wouldn't penalize the use of "Broken TMs" such as Double Team.
Oh, if you dislike the wrong-warp, why didn't they just catch a glitched Pokémon on the cinnabar border and get infinite rare candies to win the game right then and there? With a level 100 Tauros, the entire run would've been trivial and still minimum battles under your definition.
Don't get me wrong RBYPC (if you are reading this) this was a cool video, but I would've liked if you had made it more clear that this is not part of your solo run series.
