Heyyy, I also have health anxiety lovely and it's awful! Anything that comes on that I'm not used to (as I do have some health conditions) I just convince myself of the worst. Also, people literally go to hospital thinking they are having a heart attach when it's anxiety. That's how intense the symptoms are! So don't ever feel embarrassed because what you feel in that moment is valid. I hope you're okay and feeling better ❤

Everything you said is so spot on! I also have health anxiety and it really does a number on your brain and even creates physical symptoms to really convince you that something dire is happening. So I completely understand your feelings and want you to know you are not alone in this, which I'm sure you know . I wish you all the best for your upcoming surgery too! You can do it, you will get through it and it probably won't be as bad as you are imagining as people with health anxiety have big imaginations and can imagine all sorts!

I also have those types of panic attacks… where I just bolt outta there… but first my heart is pounding, I start sweating, everything sounds super far away.. they usually come out of nowhere and I can’t catch my breath. Sometimes I get really cold during the panic attack and have to pee super bad (even if I just went). They are terrible. I’m sorry you are going through so much recently, that’s a lot to deal with. I hate how ER doctors talk to people like we are stupid. I e had them misdiagnose me cause they see if I have mental health issues and blame whatever issue I’m having on that, instead of getting to the bottom of the actual issue.
The pain in your ear, could actually be your temperomandibular joint (TMJ disorder)… sometimes it effects the ear - like in my case , at the beginning before it effects the jaw. Often caused by stress. I suffered for 2 years before someone FINALLY took my severe headaches and stuffed ear symptom seriously.

No anxiety here, but I did have four I operations that I had to be awake for last year. Glad all of it is over for you now that I am so late watching this I love how your page turned out!!

Can strongly relate to your anxiety issues. I am also on 100mg sertraline daily and while I don't have health anxiety specifically, I do have a lot of weird, fairly irrational things that I get incredibly and disproportionately worried about (I have been known to get up three or four times in the night to check nobody is burgling the house :D) and my panic attacks are very similar to yours, I don't hyperventilate, but I sweat, feel sick and get palpitations and it feels like everything around me is somehow not real. My guess is that your headaches are probably chronic tension headaches caused by your anxiety. If you spend a lot of the time feeling stressed, worried or hyper-focused, the muscles in your face, jaw and shoulders tense up subconsciously and it puts pressure on the nerves in your head and face, especially if you grind your teeth or tighten your jaw in your sleep (can you tell I'm speaking from personal experience, lol). That would also explain why it eases when you're in the shower when the hot water is soothing your head and shoulders. Hope you're feeling better now and that your eye surgery went well - take care and hope you're glueing away happily again very soon! x

Please don't stop taking your sertraline without medical assistance as it's an absolute bitch to come off of. Speaking from experience😅 I actually had to go back up a dosage at one point because the side effects were so bad😓 wishing you the best x
