- Fallen Police Officer Sean Gannon was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant ahead of his funeral procession at St. Pius X Church in Yarmouth. Gannon was shot and killed while serving an arrest warrant in Barnstable.

I and my entire family extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to this fine officer's family, friends and his *_Brotherhood in Blue._* It is a tragedy to lose your life or the life of a brother/sister, but even more so for those who have, and will, give all in the pursuit of the protection and benefit of others.
Exactly RIP to all fallen Officer's thank you for your service and hard work also dedication. 🙌🌹 my condolences to all the families and officer's.

Our condolences to you and your family in the loss of your uncle. I know you can get through this. Although it may not be easy, you will endure. The pain lessens over time but never completely goes away. His memory will, however, last a lifetime! Honor him through your life, in what you do, and how you treat others. God bless.

Capt. Hellbound. As a former First Responder, the only way that you can handle the loss of your Uncle, is too hold dear what he stood for, and the type of Police Officer that he would want you to be. Apparently you feel that you have some big shoes to fill and more than likely, you do. But remember that each step you take, you are following in the footsteps that were made by a great man, your Uncle. I have approximately 9 family members who became Police Officers and Fire Fighters and i am very lucky to have been able to follow in their steps. They all made it to retirement or moved into other jobs. And please don't let the comments of some alter the course of those steps that your Uncle laid before you. Thanks for your service brother

I guess respecting the deep rooted cultural traditions of that region and this nation are somewhat important when honoring a fallen officer or any public service member who dies in the line of duty.

Salty dog. Anytime there is a funeral for a fallen police officer, other law enforcement agencies step in to help out. You have members of the State Highway Patrol who step in also. Not every member of that agency attendes these funerals. Most large police departments have a unit that attends these functions.

The massachusetts state police abuse detainees. They will handcuff a detainee to a bench then repeatedly strike them in the head with tremendous blunt force using an open palm. Often they will slam a handcuffed detainee until they lose consciousness, convulse and start kicking. Then they will charge the detainee with assault and battery against a police officer.
