What type of seeds did you use
My squash gets that powdery stuff on the leaves and then it dies.

Also there’s sprays you can find to get rid of powdery mildew .
I watched this video with a smile from the beginning to the end. From planting the seeds, then transferring the plants into colorful containers, and watching the plants grow, blossom, the zucchini grow and harvested. The recipe was a wonderful surprise ending! I'm glad I watched this. I have my pack of seeds and can hardly wait to follow this way of growing in containers. I'm going to do this with my grandchildren this weekend. Thank you for sharing your easy to follow and happy video. I subscribed and look forward to watching many more! 👩🌾🍆

I just started gardening this year ...grew lots of squash plants from seeds. The downside is, I have many more male flowers than female, and don't see any bees. I bought bee attracting plants and have been hand pollinating what females I have. I finally got 2 summer squash, but the squirrels stole them. Not giving up though
The summer is really just getting going for these things - at least where I live. Don't give up!

I'm having to self pollinate also...lack of bees is scary. Just keep on, keeping on. Feeding wildlife is a good thing. Lol. Late start this year, Spring was wonky.

Don’t give up. I started gardening for the first time this year and I had nothing but one bee. I had a o self pollinate myself as well. I just brought more flowers to attract bees and finally I have so many bees. My squash and zucchini produces more male’s females also.I wonder how her’s produce so many females
I like to harvest mine when they're smaller, and seeds are small, for sauteing in olive oil with garlic and onion. The larger zucchini I use shredded for zucchini bread with crushed pineapple and walnuts for my mother in law's delicious zucchini bread.

@@Gogrannygo55 Mine is in storage from recent move. I'm waiting to get it from my daughter. I'll share it asap. You can also substitute zucchini for carrots. Makes an excellent carrot bread.

I grew zucchini on my deck this year in a fabric pots filled with potting soil and black cow and I got the biggest beautiful zucchini I have ever seen! I will be doing many more!

Making me envious, I love growing zukes. I can usually only grow them outside early in the season before the bugs take over. I started growing them indoors this year, no bugs : )
yeah, I was watching this and at one point said to myself, looks great until the vine borers take over!!

Beautiful! The yellow zucchini looks more like a simple yellow squash - akin to the yellow crookneck squash which has a dif flavor than zucchini. Oh so pretty. Thanks for sharing your harvest!

Do you see more male flowers than female? This is my first year and I have that issue. Then, if you don't have enough bees or other pollinating insects, I think it's hard. I've gotten only one zucchini so far!
@@littleredhen2894 take an artist paint brush & pollenate by hand. Flowers normally open in mornings.

@@dmariewalker6880 That's wonderful! I have what I believe are chipmunks sampling mine (I never see them, but I find teethmarks). I've read online that there are different natural things you can spray to deter them (they don't like the smell, like cayenne pepper powder mixed with water), but, I don't want to drive off any bees or other pollinating creatures. Have you had a problem with chipmunks and other small animals?
