    Thanks for this! A bit difficult, as I was getting a totally different type of flame (it was really dim and only around the wick), but that might be because my wick was tilted and my fluid's box thing was different. I had to follow another tutorial but I used this one too! Thanks!

    Hey, love the video and the series. I wouldn’t mind seeing a video talking about each fluid attribute and what they do or a way to conceptualise what they do or is that best done through experimentation?

      That is correct, Alf. Best way to learn about fluid container and its attributes is through experiments. Your suggestion is also good. I may upload a video and explain the important attributes. Thank you :)

    Can you give a hint? How can i do my candle fire more light? Fire from candle must lights up nearest objects.

      Thank you
      If you would like to increase just the illumination then plant an omni light at the tip of the wick. If you would like to increase the volume then increase the density rate on your emitter:)

      @@sarkamari Seems that " omni light" its from 3dsMax. When i read " omni" i thought thats some attribute in emitter ( saw it yesterday: "Basic Emitter Attributes -> Emitter type -> Omni) but no :(
      Just need to know another solution besides putting light in mesh. how do I make fluids illuminate more? exactly fluids?
      But thanks anyway for your answer and participating :)

      @@sergkowalski3226 You may have solved this by now, but after searching I believe a omni light in maya is a point light. some programmes just like to name them different

      Yep, totally. V-Ray can render 3D fluid containers, especially if you’re using plugins like Phoenix FD or converting them into compatible formats.

      Yes. I suggest you put them on a render layer for better scene management

    Amazing tutorial. I have a trouble when I render on RedShift. All Shading setting (on fluidshape) seems doesn't work.

      this is an easy problem to solve just play around with incondesence roll out. i have not used any Arnold shader for the flame either.

      Yes you can.
      Use Duplicate Special tool and enable input graph in the settings

      Arnold GPU rendering doesnt support fluids.

    if anyone is like me and saw that it wasn't working, try making the main wick a third of the size of the fluid container and try to upscale everything.

    how could this be rendered in renderman instead of arnold?

      Fluids can be rendered with renderman using open VDB

    there is a cube instead of my fire in render, and i don't know why. Its look like my fluid shape is not invisible in render. I did all the display settings so i didn't understand why is that. Could anybody help me what could be the problem?

    For some reason the fluid doesn't show in my viewport or render. Can arnold render maya fluids? Under "show" everything is selected, so I don't have any idea why it's not showing. Driving me crazy haha

      Arnold is compatible with fluid. Make sure you're on shaded mode and ao and motion blur buttons are off in the viewport..

      Check arnold compatible gpu cards (link in the description)

      Just check your viewport settings. Sometimes motion blur or ambient occlusion buttons make the flame disappear.

      They are part of the active viewport buttons.
