Honesytly Denise, doesn't matter what format you record in. We are here for your stellar personality and knowledge of water colors. Know we will gladly accept anything you create with open arms. Especially remember this in times where you have low capacity. ❤
There's no way I can choose between longer real time swatching or shorter concise videos! I love both 😂
I always wondered why I’d never seen gouache in half pans before, I personally really like using dried gouache, this looks like a lovely set 😊
I never used to use fluorescence either, but since watching Kristy Rice on RUclips I’ve learnt that you can add fluorescence into other colours to change them a little bit and it looks quite amazing. Also just a little touch her or they’re not over doing it can really sparkle up a painting.
Just remember they are usually not lightfast. But if you don't need that, then it's ok.
Denise!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I'm so delighted you received these!!! I'm so pleased with mine and I'm so so excited for the swatch vid!!! Thank you for introducing me to this amazing brand!!! Also it's such a unique item in the homemade market it's totally worth a highlight
Re: the bluebell woods colour: Bluebell woods are a common sight here in the UK where whole forest floors bloom as blue bells all at once during their time in spring. It's always a stunning! (It's practically the UK equivalent of Japanese cherry blossoms in terms of spectical but no where near as celebrated)
Thank you! I did look it up afterwards and left a little note on the screen :) They look gorgeous!
Ah woops! I missed your note on screen (I was watching on mobile).
Also, hi, I love your videos. 😊
@@LostTimeLady It's a long video! I don't expect anyone to be looking the whole time. Thanks for sharing!!
I love casually watching and listening to long form videos.
Denise, I watch videos on Apple Tv, and there aren't comments there. But I came here on my phone to say thanks for your videos. They're amazing, and my favorite art videos. When you do a gouache video i'm all 🎉
You are such a joy to listen to.
Hi Felice, thank you so much for making the extra effort to let me know! I also watch on my TV, so I know it's a juggle. I really appreciate it!
Wow! what a gift to a worthy recipient! I like that you do a gradient. Hope you continue to have great fun with these paints.
I have made (granted, a non-granulating) potter's pink with Indian red and the equivalent of the winter radish colour. Can't use in full mass tone, but when transparent is not a bad simulation.
i love watching these longer videos! it’s nice to just have on in the background while i’m doing schoolwork (im currently writing a biology paper)
Yyyeeessss!,,,,, I love swatching videos and seeing new brand’s particularly handmade. Nice to see you here wish you were on more often
These have been very tempting. I am grateful for this it will help me for if/when I purchase these. Thanks 💕
I hope you will post some painting video with them! Swatches fantastic, but it's hard to predict how good they would behave in gouache techniques.
❤❤❤❤
Just bought Stoneground watercolors yesterday for the first time because of your lovely swatch videos. Thank you so much for your lovely content and art
Crystal in Michigan
Ps already used them, seriously lovely paint
Thank you so much for this video. I just got my first set of Gouache (set of 12 - 5 mL tubes of Holbein Artists’ Gouache) and I did not want to use them until I studied up on gouache (which I have been doing intensely).
I have learned a great deal from your video and plan on rewatching and taking notes. I also plan on watching more of your videos.
Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I hope you enjoy your gouache!
I love your videos. I find them to be very calming, while often also being informative. These swatches were lovely. Thank you for your hard work with sharing your knowledge and art with us.
What a generous gift! If you have to actually buy them, those 64 gouache paints cost over 800 Canadian dollars. For Germany I would have to add at least a third on shipping, taxes and custom fees. I love the idea of dry high quality gouache and have been eyeing these for a while, because they are gorgeous, but for anyone "across the pond" unreasonable. 😢
I'm watching this while on a "no buy" I do this at my own peril!
Glad you like the Silverwhite brushes - I recommend them to my students who don't want to buy natural hair brushes
Yea I'm off to go buy the 24 set now 😊
I love me some bright color! I use the neon yellow and pinks in watercolor form to punch up brightly lit flowers where i just can't get the color i want without adding neons to the mix. Also i love adding them to mixes in my journal for whimsical fun things. Give em a whirl! You never know.
I like both longer and shorter form videos. These are great for having on while working, but it does take me longer to watch them because I have a limited amount of time at my art table most days. This time I got it done in two sessions but it could take me up to a week to watch sometimes, which I know isn’t great for algorithm purposes, but is better than not watching at at I hope.
The Daffodil is the yellow of my dreams.
I love all your formats! This format was perfect now as I needed something easy for my brain ❤
Thanks so much for this video! It took me days and days (and days) of back and forth but I finally made my colour selections, and your video was a huge help! My local art store doesn't have the gouaches yet. I love Stoneground, love supporting a (fellow) Canadian brand!
I'm so glad it was helpful!! I hope you have fun with them!!
I got to test a couple of these yesterday, along with some of their watercolors. It was tempting to pick some up.
I was just looking for something I could watch/listen to while inking my illustration before painting it, thank you for the perfect timing Denise 🙏❤
I love a long swatching video to keep me company while I bustle around my art desk on a weekend morning. :) I fear I only ever get to see half of the colours but whenever I do get around to looking at the screen there is some pretty colour there...
I LOVE my paints! Im so glad you did this swatch video for us because it really helped me pick out my colors. I cant say enough how good these are, definitely in my top 3 brands 😍❤️
LOVED this video!!!!! Now I am saving money for all the Stoneground gouache. Also I love the spray bottle you use! Thank you for this amazing video!
Hullo Denise, I am glad that you are enjoying your video process. I also enjoy watching your swatch videos and the accompanying commentary on the mediums that you use. I have been a painter for over 50 years and I am still learning! No one knows everything about any given medium! Well if they are open to learning, I have met more than a few experts that know all they need to know! Thank you very much! I am curious if this company has a tube of white? I have always had white from a tube to help with opaqueness. I have even made my watercolors into an opaque medium by using a white gouache. Ok I will get back to this video, I just wanted to get a comment made before you got to far!
I do enjoy your painting videos too, perhaps even more than swatching, but it is so important that we do ALL the work, I believe that you show this extremely well.
Hi Michael! They do not have tubes for any of their colors - most handmade companies don't. I'd just recommend pairing them with your favorite white tube :)
You mentioning taxes reminded me that I still haven't done mine yet and now I'm preparing my return while watching, so that worked out well!
Very interesting, i have never seen gouache in this format before! Thank you for the interesting video, it was fun to learn more about gouache as you swatched. There was definitely stuff I didn't know before! I feel educated 😁
This is such a great video. Would LOVE to have the entire range of these Stoneground Paint Co.’s Gouache❤
Looooved the video. I am now seriously considering trying to decide on a fun pastel pallette from them. 😂
That's definitely why I like Denise's swatch videos. Her information and the video quality make a great basis for colour purchases.
Some of the names in this set are just a delight! Saskatoon berries grew everywhere, in northern Alberta, where we lived for 6 years. I miss them and the color is spot on for the inside of the skin. And the bluebells reminded me of our time in Texas... it was one of the only things I loved about living so far south.
Ready to watch 🔥♥️
I love a good swatch video! 😊
It took me a while to realize that they were all gouache. I like gouache for lifting afterwards, in addition to using them as a more opaque watercolour. I don't use it in the typical thick flat large areas of colour way.
so nice ❤😍👍
Hey I too live with the cat hair issue…. It’s their gift to the art! Lol! Love seeing the swatches! I just got Denise’s Gray…. I’m in love and use it all the time!
Thank you Ashley! I'm so glad you like it!
Could you come back with a review of these now you’ve had them for awhile? The swatches are super helpful and I have a bunch picked out that I want but I’d like to know how they are for painting compared to regular tube (or jelly) gouache - especially with opaqueness. They look more like watercolors when I search for posts and videos and I’d love a more in depth take, especially since you have their watercolors too and could compare that as well.
Hi Anita! I'm not sure when I'll be ablet to get to another video, but I still use and love these paints. As dried pans, they're never going to be as creamy or opaque as tube gouache, but I still love using them as opaque watercolors. The more transparent colors are similar to watercolor, but the opaque colors, especially those with white, are dreamy to paint with!
Question for Denise and all others who have had experience with this gouache. If I don’t have the budget for a set, which two or three of them would be beautiful and unique enough to make them worth purchasing? Thanks!
I think the weird name award goes to castle arts for “snow waffle.” 😂 I thought maybe they got snow cones and waffle cones confused… but the color is pale peachy pink. Googling did not provide any additional insight.
Since it’s been a year since you posted this video, I am wondering if you have used Daniel Smith’s gouaches and, if so, how you would compare them?
Hi Wendy. I still use and enjoy this gouache. I genuinely don't think it's apples to apples to compare handmade pans to commercial tubes. I only have three DS gouache colors, but I do love them. They are creamy and easy to rewet. SG is also a joy to paint with :)
They look nice. I don’t see a link for them
Fixed! Sorry about that, this video was a struggle to get published due to internet nonsense, and I knew I was forgetting something!
@@InLiquidColor thank you. No worries 😊
Ficou top demais, só percebi que o denoising no segundo 27 a 32 não foi tão bem. Mas a composição, as cores estão ótimas. Ótimo trabalho de luz também.
Can we meet your fur baby 1:43:55
Not interested in StoneGround products. Would prefer more painting videos. 🥹
The last video was entirely a painting demo if you missed it, even if you're not interested in the brand.
