The media has said since the beginning of training camp, Dotson was NOT doing the little things. Dotson was not having a good training camp. It was talked about. Can’t be shocked if you have been paying attention
411 ===> Jahan Dotson's mother is dying of cancer. She lives 2 hrs from PHi. He was gifted a trade to be closer to his dying mother. His heart is breaking and his mind isn't in football. Everybody likes him, but he's mentally checked out. PHI won't get anything out of him until this saga ends.
Nah, We don't complain enough when the front office thinks their genius judging talent... We all know Dotson has never had a competent QB and the system was horrible last season not to mention he had an ankle all season... We don't complain enough when we clearly see the gaslight burning.... And for the record nobody should trust anything Kingsbury says or does after watching him in Arizona.. Nobody wanted him in their NFL staff for a reason and the only reason he's here is because they thought they had a chance at Caleb.. period
I trust the coaches. They didn’t get rid of Dotson if they thought he was good. If you think that they god rid of him knowing it would make the team worse, you’re just a ridiculous person. He’s a Rivera pick that wasn’t supposed to be a first round pick. They traded him to the Eagles because they don’t see him as a threat.
Dotson was a #1 pick of a regime that failed utterly to build a capable roster in 4 years in Washington. Moving down to take Dotson and pass on drafting Chris Olave was a BIG mistake. Catching 7 touchdowns two years ago doesn't mean squat. He went ROAD (retired on active duty) here last year and continued that in camp and preseason here in 2024. I am going to laugh my *** off when McCaffrey ends up being a top slot receiver in the league and all these media types are heaping praise on Peters and Newmark for getting him in Round 3.
They traded one player who had ONE good year two seasons ago. This same player that everyone was bagging on last year for not producing. There was an awful lot of "trade Dotson" talk last season before the trade deadline. Now, all of a sudden, he was the lynchpin to this whole offense and the whole organization has failed Jayden. Don't show up to the super bowl parade in 4 years.
Dotson is not an outside receiver. He is a slot guy who can't get off press coverage and not a willing blocker. Oz, and luke mccaffrey maybe better than dotson in that position. Why keep him when you can get something for him. Our receiving crew is better or worst without dotson.
It's interesting how people keep bringing up what happened in past seasons. Jahan wasn't performing THIS offseason, which made him expendable. Dyami didn't perform in PAST seasons with the OLD staff, but he is performing THIS offseason (like he does every offseason, but we'll see 😅).
Nico Collins and Tank Dell were nobodies until last season. Nico had two blah seasons and Tank was a 3rd rd pick. Jahan couldn’t separate all last season, not to mention his issues against press man. I know you guys have to take phone calls but it never fails that whoever gets through says the most emotional crazy analysis ever. The team might still suck, if it does it would suck with Jahan on or off the roster.
Fans want to spend a lot of money and the team is not finalized yet. So just spend big money and still have holes everywhere. So when that contract is up then we are ready to compete? This is why fans are fans and GM’s are GM’s. The Bears had already made moves on their defense. So all they needed were WR’s, a QB and to sure up the line. We needed EVERYTHING. We act like one receiver will put us over the top.
Jahan just performed himself into redundancy - it's just about reinvesting into potentially better options when/if you can. I don't think it means they think the team is far away from being competitive.
@@gregholmes-brown5628 Exactly. The last time we got a good first round pick was 2019 (not counting 2024 since they haven't played yet), the year we took Dwayne Haskins. But I'm talking about the Montez Sweat pick. He's no longer with the team. Years of bad drafting and poor management left the cupboard pretty bare. Adam Peters and Dan Quinn basically told you they know they're not close in their intro press conference. Josh Harris said the same thing. Be patient and give it time because this isn't a quick fix unless you wanna be a .500 team every year.
@@gregholmes-brown5628 We won't know until the season. All seems "solid" now except for the offensive line. The fact that Adam Peters didn't go after new O line talent may signify confidence in what they have. I'm actually unsure they did anything to help the oline lol.
Jahan and a 5th for a 3rd and 2 -7th rounders. `Maybe they gonna run the rock and 1 won't cuttin it. Needed the number for Sanistril....we will survive.
I think we got rid of Jahan at the right time. I didn't see him getting his rookie season numbers this year. So, his value is lower after this season. Take the 3 and two 7s and run.
I think a lot of Commander fans are coping right now. He's going to be a WR3 that is gonna matchup against CB3 or the safety a battle he can win easily. It seems like he either didn't fit the new scheme or didn't want to put the full effort into playing for the commanders. Now the Eagles get their WR3 that's got some skills and the Commanders get assets for someone that didn't fit in. Seems like a win win for both teams. But saying Dotson is trash is crazy and hardcore coping
Jahan does not like to Block down field this team wants Receivers that Block but I would have used Jahan in different places backfield slot right side letftside But I think the Eagles use him in the slot
That dude didn't pay attention to Adam Peter vision which is too build through the draft this aint Houston stop expecting over night success and just trust the process it's practically a whole new organization just trust them and let them it cook
Stefon Diggs is a much different receiver than, Jahan. Jahan did have a hard time getting off the line and I never realized it until a microscope was placed on his inability to do so. I always knew he wasn't a physical receiver.
Use the 3rd from Philly and get Lattimore from NO… then trade Mathis to CAR for Terrace Marshall Jr or to DEN for Tim Patrick!! The Dotson trade doesn’t mean the team doesn’t think they’re close.. that’s dumb! They held their own vs NYJ & MIA.. how could he think that means they’re not close?
The staff doesn’t care about what they did before, unless you’re certified. Jahan wasn’t in that group and was fighting for WR3 and they have alot of those. Simple.
Gotta get ugly before you look good. That’s a W trade. A good set of picks for a guy rat round overdraft. He’s a talent for sure but the way Adam peters shows he can draft in the later rounds those 7th are closer to 4ths than they are 7th rounders. I think it’s a hit especially since it’s other Wrs stars available still
I get that a lot of us don't like trading with a division rival. But how many targets will Jahan get per game with Philly? They already have two good receivers, a good TE and they added Saquan. I'm going to "trust the process" and see how things play out this year
It's not about Jahan. It's about trading to a division rival that has been known for fleecing us. AND giving up a 5th round pick (potentially a high 4th if we suck) for two 7's which is basically undrafted when talking the Eagles who are gonna be a top tier team.
It’s not about fitting the system. It’s about fitting the mentality. Dotson is not physical and doesn’t block in the run game, which is a high priority to AP and this staff. Brown is a good blocker and more physical than Dotson.
It tells me that they know that this offensive system, culture, and rookie QB don't need a WR that can't block, can't get off press coverage, doesn't play special teams, and has bad body language/lacking effort. They probably like one of the rookie draft picks/UDFAs more than Dotson at this point. Rosemy-Jacksaint, McCaffrey, etc. are going to get their shot and I'm here for it.
Peters obviously thinks that Dotson isn't going to see the field enough to make an impact and there is no use in keeping him around. Dotson is a slot receiver and would be the #5 receiver as things stand now. Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, and Martavis Bryant are your outside wide receivers. Jamison Crowder, Luke McCaffrey, and Byron Pringle can play the slot just as well as Dotson. Dotson has bgotten hurt in both of his first two seasons. Dotson is close to getting cut, so you might as well get some value out of him and hang on to another guy that is just as good, more hungry, and a better value going forward.

Peter’s came from a 49ers team that played physical and where wide receivers blocked down field. DQ wants tough and physical. Dotson was not tough or physical. He was definitely not going to be #2, he didn’t appear to be winning the competition for the #3 receiver.
So how exactly is Jayden supposed to lead us to the playoffs and have a CJ Stroud like year with one elite O lineman and one top flight weapon to get the ball to with a below mediocre defense?
It's not that players behind Dotson are better. Nobody on this wr group is good besides Terry. They needed to get something for Dotson because they knew he isn't worthy of resigning. Adam knows they need another wr. They will target one next off-season. Either through draft or free agency. Everyone knows Adam's tried to trade for Aiyuk. Adams offered Dotson and a few draft picks that weren't 1st round. 49ers said. We don't want Dotson at all. He's not good. We want Terry OR a 1st round pick. Adam's said we will not give you Terry nor a 1st round. That shows Adam's wants Terry. And that he knows Terry needs help. Dotson isn't helping Terry.
I don't get it..this 106.7 crew has always been closet philly fans..thought theyd be HYPED !..btw..what DOES this say about our front office ? ..it says they're smart.
It boils down to Dotson isn’t a team player. He has skills but he doesn’t play for his teammates. There were two screen plays run and Dotson didn’t block whatsoever showing no effort. Instead of looking at Dotson like he’s a 1st round pick with talent, we’re looking at him like he’s sending the wrong message and the opposing mindset we want our team to play with. Do you continue to let Dotson half as him way through and rub off on the team or do you stick to your principles and get rid of his azz? Peace

The Dotson trade doesn’t mean the team doesn’t think they’re close.. that’s dumb! They held their own vs NYJ & MIA.. how could he think that means they’re not close?
