You're the man, Coach Daniel. Your recent videos have been outstanding. I'm trying to watch the games differently thanks to what I'm learning from your videos.
Amazing video. Much better than Coach Nick's, his bias has started to really smear up his videos and taking away from these plays and responses. Good stuff here.
Evan Fong he isn’t wrong though... Daniel doesn’t seem to fanboy any team and just breaks down the plays. In today’s media there is bias at every turn. Now let’s hope he can break down why every east coast team seems to lack effort every time they get a 10 point lead. Very few blow-out games in east coast vs east coast matchups. Only when they have their backs against the wall do they play 4 quarters of smart basketball.
I agree, those low camera angles are bad for actually seeing what action is going on. I do like them sometimes because they’re dynamic and make you feel like your court side. Would be nice if we had an option between them

Great Video! Both Heat coaching staff & Celtics coaching staff r playing chess, not checkers, against each other. I agree with Coach Daniel. I don't like the sideline camera angle neither.
3:46 Brown clearly unbalances Herro in mid-air and refs don't call it. There were a lot of no-calls, especially Tatum frequently pushes his defenders while spinning, driving or stepping back but doesn't get offensive faul calls for most of them.

Well, they are legal if the officials say they are legal. The NBA has been relaxing ballhandling rules for many years now. It allows for more creativity from the players but it's getting confusing.
Love it coach, as always. But as you said celtics did it good on both ends of the floor, so i wanna know too what adjustments celtics did on the defensive end. Want more coach
I hate that side-angle camera too! I like being able to pan my eyes across the whole court every possession. That angle only lets you see half the court in detail!
I do like the court level camera angle for variety. It shows how fast the players move and makes me feel like I'm there. It's not as great for coaching purposes though.
Hate the court side angle. Can't see the opposite side of the floor. Since there aren't any fans, why don't they elevate the camera so you can see the entire court? They used to have a wired camera that did that view.
Game 6 Celtics key players Tatum, Brown, Kemba and smart must not get into early foul trouble and also minimize turnovers. They must also come out with high energy and attack and drive into the paint.
anyone have any tips on analyzing these sorts of things in real time while watching the game live? i always try to find the different strategies that teams use while watching the game but i sort of just pay attention to whos scoring (and not necessarily how they get those points). Is it just a matter of rewatching the game and plays?
try and watch more off ball action when watching games. A lot of coaching and detail goes into a player's off ball action; at this stage in the playoffs nothing is done for no reason. For playoffs, you would note how a team changes from a loss (i.e. the center being the playmaker to take Bam out of the game), how they defend PnR dependent on the personnel they have. A lot of analysis is obviously done after the game and you would be less likely to analyse a team in game if you support them, as you'll only be focused on winning. If the two teams are neutral for you just take a step back and see how offenses target the defence (i.e. hitting the pocket in a zone defense or creating size mismatches).
If Tatum & Theis both get double doubles, Tatum & Brown both get over 20 points, Stevens gives Kanter at least 10 mins, out rebound The Heat, keep their turnovers under 13 and keep attacking the paint instead of jacking up so many 3's, there will be Game 7. Hallelujah !
7:15 Don't worry man, I also hate this camera angle. It's way too difficult to see what's going on in real time as a fan who just doesn't have the same level of BBIQ as coaches/players who are used to seeing that kind of angle.
