ya know with all theses shows that involve prisons, they guards are payed to be loud and rude while the inmates are told to do the same. took a tour of a prison back in college and they were all fairly friendly and nice.

I know I'm late af but I can confirm that the inmates in this flash challenge were not real prisoners at the time of filming. I know this because my uncle was Tatu Baby's canvas. He answered a casting call ad on Craigslist looking for human canvases that were former inmates so they knew how to walk the walk without having to get special permissions from the Department of Justice. Some other insider facts about this episode I learned from him when he came back: The cells they were in were occupied by real prisoners, they were just temporarily moved for filming. One of the canvess slid dime jars of bud under the cell doors before they left so the real inmates had a present waiting for them. Allegedly, Dave Navarro is a massive narcissistic ass hat. Before filming inside the prison, most if not all of the canvases got together and had a smoke sesh around/on top of the police cruisers. One of the producers came over to them and was like "Y'all too bold. If you get caught we don't know you."
So you're saying your uncle's buddies got real inmates in trouble by planting drugs in their cell? It's unlikely that the cells weren't searched and cleaned before the inmates returning anyway. Cool story bro.
@@gladitsnotme You're absolutely right, the cells probably were searched/cleaned afterwards. They might not have been in use at all and some the guy ended up wasting all of it. Hell, he could of ✨embellished✨ that particular part of the story because, as mentioned in the original comment from over a year ago, all the canvases were former inmates themselves. So, the more likely situation is that nobody left anything in the cells because they had been in those cells before themselves and are aware of the ramifications of a stunt like that. Even if it was bullshit (because I was like 15 at the time so of course I'd believe anything) I don't rightly care. It's a fun memory that brings me and my family joy every time we see the tattoo. So yes sir, it IS a cool story ☺ Edit to add: He did not know any of them before filming, so "acquaintance" would be more accurate.
If you think for one second that the CO's didn't check the cells before allowing the inmates back in your dumb. I guarantee u those real inmates did NOT get a bag of weed as a gift. Your uncle seems a bit dumb if u think he got inmates wewed.🤦🏽♂️
