Donkey Kong Country "Aquatic Ambiance" (Solo Cover by Aaron Grooves)

- One of my all-time favorite video game soundtracks is Donkey Kong Country. The melodies & atmospheres created by David Wise brought a new aesthetic to the genre, and the programming required to achieve this on the Super Nintendo had never been done before. It's arguably one of the most transformative pieces of video game music.
This piece in particular, "Aquatic Ambience," is one that I could listen to forever. There is such layered richness and variety that I never grow bored of it.
For this arrangement, I created a loop reminiscent of the original soundscape, then play melody, chords, and improvisations on piano.
Instruments used (in order of appearance):

Frog Scraper (Of COURSE Frog Scraper is a legit musical instrument. How rude!)

I didn’t grow up with DKC, but this song still feels very nostalgic for some reason. Absolutely fabulous rendition!

Is that piano missing hammers, or are those gaps supposed to be there? Just wondering. Love the music, by the way.
They are supposed to be there! If I recall correctly, the piano strings are divided into 3 parts, the very low notes which use extra thick strings, the middle notes which use normal piano strings, and the very high notes which use extra thin strings. Those gaps are the transitions between the parts.

Such an appropriately named RUclipsr. That sir was indeed Groovy. Very unique and interesting take on (arguably) my favorite piece of VG music. Like many great pieces, there were moments I didn't quite follow, but was "ahhh'd" back in beautifully. Truly great.
I'm on day 2 of quarantine since testing Covid positive, and honestly been in quite a bit of pain. This not only distracted me, but escorted me on a wonderful journey. Thank you Aaron, you're the man!

This an incredible display of talent and editing particularly how you show how the instrumentals begin to layer.
