Somehow, Jon, you make your music so timeless and and so important to our generation. It transcends the Here and now, to help me to want to be in the presence of God, Jesus, my Holy Spirit. Hand in hand with love, life, Mother Nature here and now. You WILL take your place among the greatest that ever lived before and after you as the musical ambassador of our human race. Thank you for carrying me along with you on this timeline of life and the ages. Onward...Rip Chris, long live YES🙏👋
SUPERB. I've been the biggest YES/Jon Anderson fan since 1973. How does he do this? Most musically creative people have a maximum of 7/8 years. This is 40-yrs on from The Yes Album. Truly magnificent
One of the most sublime and heart talking compositions by Jon, whose inspiration and art seem to have no limits. Thank you Jon I feel very grateful and lifted up by your beautiful music.
Never heard this before! A gift that keeps on giving 😎! Can’t wait for 4-16,4-28 2023!Jon Anderson performing in the tri-state area🙏! His voice is like no other, ever😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😉!!
Como siempre Jon Anderson, evolucionando en cada trabajo y álbum que da a luz, agradable y muy armonioso, gracias por subir cada álbum de este grandioso vocalista del Rock Progresivo.
Laurie MtnGalPal Had Chris Squire known he would only have five years left to him in 2009 when he made the decision to tour Yes without Jon, I suspect he may have chosen differently. "Open" is nice; like much of Jon's material, it needs development. If Yes had developed it, I think it would have been marvelous. I feel the same about all Yes have recorded without Jon, it needs his conceptual/melodic genius. They are always better together, every time...
Chris Squire dumped him--dumped the competition because he could (Jon Anderson lost the rights to the band name he + Squire formed when he left the band in 1980.) Since then, he has literally been an "at-will" employee.
Jon recorded Song of Seven when Yes made the Drama mess. Jon’s tour medley of 1980 sounds better than Buggle Yes balls up. Jon provides the much needed musical and spiritual. direction to Yes. Without him they are half a band.
Both comments need correction. Yes IS half a band without Anderson AND Drama is a good album. Anderson's solo work would be considered fantastic only for Olias alone, but then throw in Song of Seven and his work with Vangelis and his solo work is incredible. With few exceptions all the main members solo efforts IMO were as good as any Yes albums...they're WAY underrated.
Perfectly wonderful, as is everything Jon does, wonderful lyric and great melodies throughout... But did I or did I not catch a few bars of 'New Language' a couple of times in there?
We the fans, do not want Jon back in Yes. He has won many in these years and at least when Iisten to 'The Invention Of Knowledge', I know, he does not need that name. Even as he has the rights to the name YES just the same as Steve Howe. Does anybody of you know this? Also Jon DAVISON do a wonderful job together with Steve Howe for over 10 years now, bringing new life and worked out three studio albums and a big number of live albums with yes. Jon Anderson will not get back nor Rick Wakeman or Bill Bruford of which I am always a die hard fan. Get it and love both and anything Yes ever evolved into! Just love Patrick Moraz solo, Earthworks or Trevor Rabin solo a.a.e.
I start to listen to John when i was in 5 great he change my vision to music Van Gelis "Frieands mr.Cairo.... New musick, at that time, In my country< USSR i was in shock....
Short vocal melody at about 6:35 is borrowed from "New Language" - the phrase "new words" made it jump out at me. A little callback to a dozen years prior.
Jon Anderson - vocals, acoustic guitar Stefan Podell - music and orchestration, 6 and 12 string guitars, classical guitar, electric guitar, percussion, bass, additional vocals Zach Page - classical and electric guitar Kevin Shima - acoustic guitar, vocals Zach Tenorio-Miller - piano, organ Alexandra Cutler-Fetkewicz, Jon Fink and Susan Lerner - string arrangement and recording Brian Hobart - percussion Stephan Junca - drum kit, African percussion Charles Scott - drum kit Jane Luttenberger Anderson - "angel vocals" Robert Foster, Ian O'Rourke, Madelyn Frey, Jacob Stringfellow, Aaron Wolfe and Amy Stevens - Choral Via Cal Poly A Cappella Group Billy James - additional backing vocals
You mean the symphony orchestra is a sample ? There is some really great sampling there... but 3 other people are credited for "string arrangement"... I don't fully understand then... as if those three players had rather multi-layered their string instruments... ? Surely, it can't be only samples ? I wish Jon had done more with you and released an album of your collaborations on CD, instead of just this as a download, which was often as expensive as a full album... I'm afraid Jon Anderson - who's one of my top favourite musicians ever - tends to go all over the place with projects that he rarely complete. Too many things he announded never got released nor completed. But we have this, at least... a real pity as I much, much, much prefer a real physical CD/LP...
This ahould be on CD but only on download the times are a changing, or the record company thought they would not sell so so sad to say CDs are disappering fast. ITES ALL DOWNLOAD AND STREAM THESE DAYS. Maybe if we all write to the record company the may bring out a CD what do you think YES fans

Open hearts will always open doors. ♥ Beautiful Jon!
We, the fans, wants J.A. 's back in Yes. Please.

His voice is angelic!
Open is a wonderful composition!

Dicen que este tema era para YES, después ya sabemos que desde 2008 no esta en la banda.
I don't know how I missed this one - it's really good!
Beautiful music by the great Jon! :-)
This is part of what JA had in mind for Yes to do but they dumped him because he was temporarily ill. What idiots!

This song is garbage. Yes doing it???? Oh please , get real...
Chris Squire dumped him--dumped the competition because he could (Jon Anderson lost the rights to the band name he + Squire formed when he left the band in 1980.) Since then, he has literally been an "at-will" employee.
Not to your taste is fair, " garbage" is a bit much. It certainly has more melodic development than anything on that mess Yes last called an album.
There is more to it than you know...get your facts right
would have been a great addition to Magnification..!
very much on the same wavelenght
I love Jon !
so do I
What a beautiful, lively and profound track
Keeping the REAL essence of Yes alive with this.
Thank you for posting.
never even heard of this befor this!!!!....love Olias....its my religion....this is sweet!. thanx jon, for all the good stuff!. cheers&aloha, bro!
The music sounds like Westside Story, and the vocals sound like a track off Keys Studio, ( could be
That Is That Is)
It's a gift!!!!!, I can hear Yes but contemporary, congrats

Drama was a killer lp Andersons solo work is uneven at best. The only consistent solo artists out of Yes were Howe and Wakeman.

+Vevey2004 I wonder if this is from what was meant for Take The Water To The Mountain.
un grande absoluto !
Yes! Brother of Light! Thank You for Your Open Heart!
would have loved to heard this a YES piece. Beautiful piece Jon.

I hear a lot of ABWH in this. Oh, and yes, New Languages is inside, too.
I also thought I heard New Languages in it.
I start to listen to John when i was in 5 great he change my vision to music Van Gelis "Frieands mr.Cairo.... New musick, at that time, In my country< USSR i was in shock....
Fantastic, thank you for posting. A real revelation !
It's Close To The Edge for the 21st Century imho.
+Rand Kelly Indeed. I think he fell in love with the orchestral ideas after making Magnification and then Yes Symphonic.
Don't forget Change We Must which us still my favourite of his solo career.
Actually, the combination of classic prog sensibilities and modern-classical orchestration remind me a lot of Renaissance...
we get the "YES feeling." .
yes,,,i love you..YES!!
Fantastic O_O

He does recycle stuff from time to time.
Voice of angel
Symphonic.
Perfect
Make the CD of this! What about Zamran????
Un grande Artista, una voce celestiale, immenso Jon Anderson !!!
Maravilloso y mágico y magistral. Gracias por la música, Jon. Amor y paz.
Un genio! Jon Anderson por siempre y para siempre!❤
NOTHING MUCH TO SEE BUT THE SONGS ARE SO GOOD.
Thank you for your light
Magnificent
Any ideas if there are additional personnel in addition to Jon?
other than the symphony?
Jon Anderson - vocals, acoustic guitar
Stefan Podell - music and orchestration, 6 and 12 string guitars, classical guitar, electric guitar, percussion, bass, additional vocals
Zach Page - classical and electric guitar
Kevin Shima - acoustic guitar, vocals
Zach Tenorio-Miller - piano, organ
Alexandra Cutler-Fetkewicz, Jon Fink and Susan Lerner - string arrangement and recording
Brian Hobart - percussion
Stephan Junca - drum kit, African percussion
Charles Scott - drum kit
Jane Luttenberger Anderson - "angel vocals"
Robert Foster, Ian O'Rourke, Madelyn Frey, Jacob Stringfellow, Aaron Wolfe and Amy Stevens - Choral Via Cal Poly A Cappella Group
Billy James - additional backing vocals
The "symphony" was actually my computer :) (not including the solo violin and cello in the middle section, starting around 11:10)
