Your comment reminds me of a story I heard of a father of two babies/young children at a shopping centre. He held both of them over the railing to look at the four stories below them, one fell, and as the father reached out to grab him, he let go of his other child so in the end both fell and died

The raptor making that noise is actually quite content. It makes noises for stress, happiness and other emotions. Handlers of birds have had relationships with their wards where they would make these noises. Which if I recall correctly mean "I am safe, I am happy."
