People tend to forget Dewey was having the upper hand with Amber the WHOLE time it took him being dumb and distracted for Amber to get the kill.

When it comes to Dewey getting killed in the Movie, I myself actually had no problem with it and I totally understand the reason why the makers of the 5th Movie made the decision to kill off 1 of the Original 3 (Sidney, Gale, & Dewey).
The Original 3 (Sidney, Gale, & Dewey) can't always keep surviving these Movies. If they did then it would all just become repetitive and predictable and when it comes to the "SCREAM" Movies, I don't think that there should be anything in the "SCREAM" Movies (including the Fates of the Original 3) that should be predictable.
That freeze frame on the RUclips suggestion with “Survivor Kirby Reed” was a good ass catch bro.

As much as it saddens me that Dewey was killed. It was kind of poetic for him though he saved Sams little sister where he wasn't able to save Tatum. Also, it makes since for Dewey to be the first legacy character to die out of the three. It gave us a chance to continue watching the Gale/Sidney arc. Dewey's death brought them together and to work as a actual team. Their relationship has grown a lot since the first Scream. Sidney/Dewey always had that Brother/sister relationship and Dewey/Gale always had the on and off again relationship. But Sidney and Gale were never close they always had Dewey as the middle person. With Dewey being gone it gives them that chance.
For those who don't believe that Amber could kill Dewey because of being a teenage girl and due to her size. When someone is that psychotic mentally they can have a lot of strength. Lot of your doctors in a mental hospital have a hard time handling the strength some of their patients would have.
Dewey was doing good with hand on hand contact. Then he went back and got distracted by his phone ringing. That's the only reason Amber was able to get the upper hand cause he was off guarded and shes really swift. Also, don't forget Dewey has nerve damage/limp, in his 50's, is a drinker now, hasn't stayed active at all and depression. He wasnt exactly in a good mental state at all. He knew he wouldn't be able to handle it this time around and wasn't going to but after talking with Sidney he changed his mind and tried to help.
Also, the way ghostface was with Sam on the phone trying to make her choose between Tara and Richie that's something Amber would do. It was her way of proving that Sam was "selfish" and doesn't care about her sister. Ghostface that attacked Tara in the hospital was the same person who attacked her in the open scene. Ghostface told Samantha while trying to force her to choose he was threatening that this time he won't miss all of the major organs like the last time. So Amber attacked her both of those times.
Yes 💔 Dewey's character just about given up on life at this point, considering all he'd been through. Makes sense (unfortunately) that he eventually died in this one ❤️🕊️
R.I.P Dewey you saved a sister because you couldn’t save your own you’ll always be remembered….

Being a 95 baby and finally being able to see a scream movie in theaters brotha was such a dream come true. I was rejected back in 2011 since I was only 15😑😑.

Bro the chairs was moving and shit🤣🤣 I wasn’t expecting that shit at all. We were feeling the stabs in the chair and basically moving with the victims movements when they got stabbed.

Dewey might have had physical therapy between Scream 2 and 3 to help his limp. My guess.
“Sydney” aka Neve Campbell was set to be in Scream 6, but she exited after they offered her what is to be considered low pay, despite the fact that she has been carrying this character for 25 years! I was excited for Scream 6 but if she’s not in it as originally hoped for, I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy it as much.
Neve Campbell (Sidney) originally she wasn't going to do this one cause it would been the 1st movie without Wes Craven cause he died after making the 4th. But the new directors from "Ready or Not" wrote her a personal letter explaining why they wanted to carry on the Scream franchise. They told her how Wes Craven was the reason why they became directors in the first place and how he was their inspiration and how they wanted to make this one like a love letter in memory of Wes. They told her their vision for the movie and gave her the script to read and see if she approved of it. She felt very touched and heartfelt that they went out of their way and personally contacted her and the things they said about Wes so she signed on for it. So with any new Scream movies that'll be made she'll be reading the script first before she decides she'll do them or not. But one thing for sure is that she doesn't want her character Sidney to die because of what her character represents for young girls, teens and older women. She mentioned many times in her interviews for Scream 5 that the directors would even ask for opinions with Neve, Courtney and David with different scenes on what they think of it and what they think on how Wes Craven would think of it as well. Kevin Williamson who was the writer for the other Screams he helped produce it and also used a lot of his insight as well cause of how closely he worked with Wes for all those years.
She exited out of 6 because they weren’t willing to pay her what she was worth. I think it was very stupid on their part!

Scream 5 is my 2nd ranking of all 5 films. Scream 5 had the balls to raise the stakes that Scream 3 & 4 didn't. Was to simply RAISE the stakes! Brutal attacks/kills, more sinister GF dialogue, and a very unique take on 'TOXIC FANDOM'. 2 crazed STAB fanatics who simply created a real life murder spree to give Hollywood new source material so they can finally make a great STAB film. Bringing it back to the basics and that they did. Slashers are known for their brutal/creative kills and Scream (2022) definitely brought all that. Ghostface was much darker and bold in this film and I loved it. This film was a big old love letter to Wes Craven dedicating it to the Original film. Love your reaction btw! Since this film was praised by so many Scream fans and doing very well at the box office, we will be getting a 6th/new TRILOGY. Can't wait for Scream 6 🖤🩸🩸

a rewatch might be needed. lol. The killer was getting her butt handed to her by Tara in the opening idk about super strength lol but I do get how it can come off the way at first watch. All of amber attacks were sneak attacks for the very reason shes not gonna be able to over power half the targets. If you pay attention to the Judy murder, you notice Judy catches her hand and Amber john wicks her. Amber tried the same thing on Dewey in the hospital but she wasnt strong enough to John wick him. had she been able to . that's overpowering him. she had to sneak him for success. With them passing the torch. it only makes sense that 4 people survived again .scream 96' (Sid, Gale, Dewey & Randy)

And lol one more thing. Dewey has never been that guy. He got stabbed in the back in the first one, Got stabbed 3 more times in the second one. why? because he goes in the room shouting at the top of his lungs while a killer pursues them . in 3 he was knocked out by the handle of the knife as he watched it hurdle towards him. Also scream 3 was the one and only scream Dewey kills the killer. If it wasnt for Sidney telling Dewey to shoot Roman in the head that might have ended differently . Scream 4 he was beat unconscious with a bed pan by Jill because he didnt catch Her slip up like Gale did..

My thoughts, the reveal of Billy's daughter should have been better, instead it was turned into soap opera moment. Jenna Ortega Aka Tara sam's younger sister, she should have been the final girl she gives me Sidney Prescott vibes. It's very sad that Sidney and Dewey didn't get to hug they only spoke on the phone. Sidney handing the gun over to Gail and she said "do you want do the honors" that was iconic, Gail lit up Amber's ass good stuff. R.I.P to a legend
Funny thing is that Melissa Barrera was actually a soap opera star in Mexico for years so that entire scene was her playing to her strengths, but in English.
Great reaction. Obviously the original is still my favourite, but this moved into my second spot last month when i saw it. Also, i've not always been a huge fan of Dewey, but to me this was his best performance. I love the seeming increase in brutality and gore. I love the new characters, and look forward to seeing what the next Ghostface(s) have in store for them. (Sidney will always be my favourite final girl though).
Btw my order is 1, 5, 2, 4 and 3. I do really love 4, it and 2 are very close in my movie rankings.

If youre about to start some horror series, Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass might be good choices on Netflix. As for Horror Movies you could try some Stephen King Movie Adaptations or the first 2 Alien Movies from Ridley Scott. As for Scream 5 im with you but then again i only Scream 1 and 4, the others are more hit or miss.

I've been a Scream fan since it came out, I think 5 is far better than 2 and 3. The critics seemed to agree. This got great reviews, better than a most of them, it also made a fortune. My list is 1,4,5,2,3. Also, the movie is a tribute to Wes Craven who passed, the character of Wes is a nod to him, in the party scene they all say 'To Wes' as a tribute to Craven (it also has 30 former cast members saying 'to Wes'. Dont agree at all that Wes would have done it better, this is exactly the way he would have done it. The 2 directors are HUGE Wes fans, thats why the shots etc and direction style is so similar (with their own twist)
I saw 2 in theaters and was very disappointed, so I agree with you that 4 and 5 are the best since the original.

I think Stu was a secret third killer in this movie. It would make more sense for him to have killed Dewey. Just like he said in the first one about gutting someone: "It takes a man to do something like that." Also, Tara's opening attack doesn't add up because Richie was with Sam in another town, and Amber was being filmed on a live video. That killer also got super offended when Tara only mentioned Billy and forgot about Stu. And it ended at Stu's house! I think you'd like it a lot better if you watch it with that possible perspective in mind. Can't wait for 6 & 7!

Fun Facts:
1. The Original Scream cast did voice overs Drew Barrymore (Casey Becker) was the principal on the intercom in the beginning. Also, Matthew Lillard (Stu) was the one in the RUclips channel doing the medal ghostface voice and at the party he's the one that said " Cool house" to Amber when she was walking through. Jamie Kennedy (Randy) was the one that made the comment about the some goofy ass dad is here kicking everone out. Hayden (Kirby), principal Himbry were part of the "For Wes" when they cheered.
2. Below on that RUclips channel where it mentioned Kibry there's another clip asking if Stu Macher is still alive or not lol.
3. When Chad picked up the candle stick as a weapon it was reference to when Sidney grabbed a candle stick in Scream 3 to defend herself with.
4. I don't know if you caught it or not but in Dewey's trailer he has Tatums ashes next to his gun box.
5. Sidneys husband Mark is Detective Mark Kincaid from Scream 3.
6. Wes Kill Scene where he closed the front door. No one told Dylan that ghostface would be behind him so his reaction to it was legit lol.
7. Even though Mindy said to Wes about his mom being safe but yet they got killed anyways.
Two reasons: 1st is they killed the Sherrif and her son as a decoy/distraction to lure the cops away from the hospital their main target was Tara. 2nd reason they killed off Wes who is a reference for "Wes Craven" it was there way of having a memorial for Wes Craven in the movie. He direct all of the Screams he died after he made the 4th. So this one was like a love letter to him.
The scene where Tara was watching TV in her hospital room before her attack. She was watching Dawson's Creek it was a tv series in the late 90's that Kevin Williamson wrote for. He also wrote for Scream, Scream 2, originally Scream 3 till they had to change the story and another writer came in and then he wrote Scream 4. Well Scott Foley who played Roman in Scream 3 as Sidneys half brother he was a recurring role in the 1st season of Dawson's Creek and that episode she was watching was a Friday of the 13th kind of episode where Dawson would pull pranks on his friends and desided to do a seance but in that episode there was killer on a loose that had a similar MO as Scream 96. Scott Foley left Dawson's Creek to film Scream 3.
Wes Craven died he also made the Freddy Kruger movies and Wes Craven cameos in Scream 1 the janitor at the school dressed in the same outfit as Freddy Kruger basically

I am a BIG Fan of the "SCREAM" Movies and I definitely enjoyed the 5th Movie.
The makers of it did a Pretty Darn Good Job and I can't wait to see what they will bring to us with "SCREAM 6" (which has already been greenlit and is going to be made by the same people who made the 5th Movie).

I think the cops were the most realistic in this movie. You can call them and they will take almost an hour to get to you. I wish the house wasn’t revealed in the promotional stuff for this movie and left the big reveal in the movie to surprise older fans. But they had this house all over the place on social media and even a VR walkthrough trivia game

As sequels go, it’s entertaining I personally don’t think there’s a bad scream film. There’s some pretty damn baddddd sequels out there (Halloween franchise for example) . 1, 4, 2, 5, and 3. Btw you should watch some Stephen King- Misery, IT chapters 1 & 2, Carrie, there’s so many good ones from the King of horror novels!

I feel like Dewey might have had some physical therapy because he's had a lot of severe injuries and because of his severe injuries and people thinking he's dead in every f****** movie it seems to be a running gag at this point I was thinking right away when he was attacked in this one here we go again he's not dead but then son of a b**** she actually was THAT'S ILLEGAL this franchise is not allowed to kill Dewey! 😭
I love all the scream movies and I get a kick out of watching reactions to them. Are they gonna get it? are they gonna figure it out??? Love the reactions regardless. Just starting, but on the fifth and final (As of right now...:Scream 6 is on the way, though!!!) Subscribed, regardless :) Subscribed to the scream subreddit and i was trying my damndest to avoid spoilers . I somehow managed. If I saw it, I managed to forget it (for the most part , at least). I guessed who one of the killers was fairly soon, and the other one took me completely by surprise. Had to backtrack on youtube where I rented it and start rewatching because I got distracted. Dewey's death gutted me. Hope he pulls a Randy or Billy in future movies in some form. It's been done, so can't rule it out!!

Major! If you’re looking to get into more horror, search for anything by Mike Flanagan. Depending on the type of horror you want to see, his stuff is awesome if you wanna try more psychological horror: Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, Hush, etc.
But if you wanna see straight-up slashers, there’s a plethora of them out there lol. Personally, I’m more of a Halloween and Friday the 13th guy, but there are many to choose from.

I watched one trailer. Just one. And I knew just from that one trailer that Dewey was dying. You could see Gail running and crying and there's no other reason why she would unless for dewey. The only other person she cares about that much would be Sydney and you know that they're not killing her yet if at all. So it was fucking obvious and I was so pissed. So I sat in that theater knowing that Dewey was dying during that scene. And I still sat there with my hand over my face for a good 2 minutes. And then the girl that I went with had her hands over her face and the guy that was sitting next to us that I didn't know had his hands over his face and pretty much every single person in my row and the row in front of me had their hands over their face. It was insane. That being said one of those three had to die. It just had to happen. You couldn't have them all three survived yet another film. And I think they made the right choice. This is probably one of my favorite kills in the entire franchise despite how sad it was.

You should try Cujo and Poltergeist. Old school horror is the best. You should also watch Tombstone, 300, and Troy.

Not to mention, David mentioned that they surprised him with the script of Dewey dying. They didn't even discuss it with him. That's fucked up. He didn't even get to go out with a bang, but get killed by a 5 feet girl with super strength somehow and that's his legacy -_-. The disrespect they spat on his character. Nobody cares or will remember Amber. She's not a memorable character in the franchise at all. If that's how they do characters, then why should they continue to do Scream movies? I can name 5 studios far better. Dewey's death felt almost as bad as Randy's and neither of them got finale deaths, that's the sad part. They wrote Dewey off being stupid af, not even remembering Randy's Rule's somehow at that moment then going back and somehow gets distracted by a cell phone ringing. It's ridiculous, man. David mentioned he was super pissed about the decision and left after shooting the scene. That shit ain't right, I feel so bad for David Arquette and how they did his character without discussing anything with him about an end to him.
Aww wow I didn't know that. I thought he just opted out of being apart of the movie anymore. I know some actors do that, especially with Courtney Cox actually being his ex-wife in real life, I would understand that.

I definitely agree with your order except for me I think I’d have to go with the original scream as my first place / scream 4 solid second place/ then scream 3 cause the killer was the most surprising for me in that one since they showed him dead and gale checked his pulse / scream 2 the mom caught me off guard Mickey was pretty predictable when he slipped up and said why’d you go back in that house? and then scream 5 has to be my last place I didn’t like how they did Dewey like that!! but they had to kill off at least one original and out of the three Dewey just made the most sense sadly that broke me trust.. but overall it was a decent movie but the killers in this one I had to say were a little obvious to me Richie with his “obsession with the stab movies” cause that’s all he watches on his downtime so it fits perfectly with what Dewey said when he stated rule #1 never trust the love interest and Tara got super defensive with Wes at the bar when he said “so no guys are good for and now her families off limits too” mindy immediately said motive! which was accurate but she should’ve been directing that energy towards amber and not Wes in that moment also considering amber looked super defensive and overall just territorial with Tara even when Chads girl Liv said “ he worked with me and Tara” she was quick to say “ he worked with tara?” no where in that sentence did she express any concern for liv when she could’ve been potentially being “stalked” or killed next but I’m glad you enjoyed the other movies!! and that you’re a scream fan bro 👻 also you should do a reaction video to scream 6 and their concept trailer there’s a voice but they don’t show the face in the scene where someone’s talking to Kirby and says “looks like we’re both the final girl” I kid you not bro it sounds like JILL! from scream 4 and if you remember correctly she’s the only killer that didn’t get stabbed in the heart and or shot in the head she just got her brain fried a bit but that’s it and it’ll kinda make sense considering it’s in New York and her motive was that she wanted to be famous and where better than Hollywood or New York? also they’re both from the Scream 4 original cast so that’ll be pretty cool 🖤 stay blessed

Idk man, an adrenaline rush with psycho people can be freakishly strong even if it was a girl killer… plus Dewey had nerve damage so he’s not super strong. That’s how I see it or assume they wanted us to view it.
