This tutorial is fantastic! Unfortunately Illustrator 2020 made the "overlay" option look horrendous on bright colors so I wasn't able to get the "sunset" colors to look as cool as yours, but the "dusk" version looks perfect. Thank you for making this video!
Hi mate...just a doubt...for some reason, when I apply the Transparency-Overlay option, I can´t see the pattern as shown on the tutorial...the result is a clear image (rectangle+circle) but no the "triangle+square" pattern in an overlay effect. Have you got an idea what I'm doing wrong?...Just to let you know, when I apply the transparency-darken effect I can see the effect but...in a darken way...thanks in advance! and really great tutorials!
Same problem here. I think it's because of different versions of Illustrator. However, if you apply the Multiply effect with an opacity of 50% it looks decent. Or simply change your color mode to RGB.
Vector Slate | Graphic Design Tutorials do you ever sell lne of your art on the online market such shutterstock or graphic river ? i have some issues with their qualifications. Your channel might help me improve my skills. I'd love to watch if you make tutorial about how to get approved on creative place. Thank you ! I love your work
Having a problem in CS6 with the last step - adding overlay blend mode. For some reason, it works differently - the image gets really bright and the white lines of the pattern are only visible in the "sun" area, otherwise nothing can be seen of the pattern. Checked everything, followed your tutorial a few times again just to see if I screwed up anywhere, but I didn't. The overlay looks terrible in my CS6 version, tried different blending modes and the only one that looks fine is multiply. Do you have any clue how to solve this? Have you encountered this problem before?
It should not be the problem of CS6. Blending modes work with Colors. Version doesn't matter. Can you please share your .AI file? I want to go to the root of this problem. I'll let you know what was the issue after an inspection. You can send me the file on facebook.com/VectorSlateTutorials
Lix Grand yeah, the problem was my color mode - I set CMYK instead of RGB and cmyk was causing it :) weird right? Never would've expected it to behave like that....
I liked the tutorial but I can't make it :( when I overlay the rectangle filled with a pattern I have a weird result (just the gradient but less saturated). Is there anyone that has the same problem?

Blend mode doesn't change with versions. Change Document Color mode to CMYK to RGB or RGB to CMYK
@@vectorslategraphicdesigntu8991 Yes, this actually worked.

Amazing. ......
Thank You!
whats the name of the background music ya used?
Great video but it would have been better if there was voice instead of music given a full step by step for those that are beginners
great !!
Thank you :D
Thank you
You're welcome!
2:45 did you do that chart? or how has it appeared from?
Those are rectangle shapes filled with shades of gray. I put them to show you color codes so you can follow along.
what if you don't have a panel transparency at 5:05?
I'm russian, so i can't understand what are you writing in video. But i can do it!
Hey are you well, with all the war in Ukraine?

I have the same problem. Only multiply works.
did you find out the problem?
Lix Grand yeah, the problem was my color mode - I set CMYK instead of RGB and cmyk was causing it :) weird right? Never would've expected it to behave like that....
So weird! I would never thought of that!! Thank you so much!!!
Overlay didn't work for me. The pattern just vanishes on choosing overlay.
I liked the tutorial but I can't make it :( when I overlay the rectangle filled with a pattern I have a weird result (just the gradient but less saturated). Is there anyone that has the same problem?
Check the Document Color Mode. RGB & CMYK will give different result for this document.
Yes indeed, I changed it and it worked great. Thank you!
