- Trying out a gift from one of the engineering interns from work. Eric worked with us for over a year and just graduated college. He was nice enough to get me a shaving kit from Art of Shaving. This one in Sandalwood scent. Thanks very very much Eric. I told him I’d do a shave video with it.

I like it when you review products that you can easily purchase in any store. If someone has a problem with a product you demonstrate, that's their problem!! Good shave Ken!!! I have the 6C, and I typically use mine on setting 5 with a Personna Red blade or a Nacet. It mows down just about anything I throw at it. I'm prepping for Hurricane Dorian currently, and trying to get as many good shaves as I can get before I'm sure my power gets knocked out by this beast heading straight for us. Have a good weekend!

Thanks I appreciate it. I just gassed up every car I have, went grocery shopping for essentials, and locked down windows that could get damaged by debris. I have solar panels, so I could power my home for days if the power goes out thankfully.

Very nice shave Ken. Sandalwood is a favourite. Art of shaving has some very nice products. I have a Lavender balm that I’m very happy with.

Dave 24 I was just like u about 9 months ago then I got really into it and did a lot of research [Watched a ton of reviews and YT videos] and learned a lot now I have 2 brushes a synthetic tuxedo and a silver tip badger 🦡 💈😁🤙💈 razors I have the Muhle R-41 A Gillette1949 SuperSpeed 1964 Gillette Slim Adjustablethe Merkur Future Clone(Q-SHAVE) a Shavette and a 1966 Schick Krona. Soaps are awesome my first was Proraso Red (Sandlewood) then I got artisans like Stirling , but take ur time bro and enjoy your Shaves 😎✌️
@@mikerose51 I am really enjoying wet shaving, never had that feeling with a cartridge or electric. Started with Proraso white and will try the Proraso green next. I currently have two vintage Gillette razors, a 1951 Super Speed TTO and a 1969 Super Slim 109 "Black Beauty". Thanks to channels like KenSurfs (and others) I have learned a lot in just a short time.

Great video Ken! I think that Rockwell should refer to the 6s and 6c as "interchangeable" not adjustable. Their Model T is truly adjustable. That Art of Shaving does have great shave products! Jim

Lately I have been watching videos on Shaving on youtube, and yes!! It is something that we do every day of our lives. Haha!! I think that it is so cool how shaving the thing that we seem to take for grantid is really an art. It is our time, just like the ladies have their time. I think that many people need to bee educated on really shaving. It isn’t just swiping a razor and calling it good. Their are people like you Ken who really tells it like it is. So many soaps and creams and after shaves. I really never payed attention to it till I started watching vids on youtube. I have to say I learned of course from my dad when I was growing up to shave with a regular carterage razor and safety razor. It was a huge thick razor. Well, I started using an electric razor some time later, and of course now in my 40s I still use the electric razor. I do have cartrage razors too. I just today bought my new pannasonic wet dry razor. I have been using a braun series 7 for a long time, but I just dug into my new Panasonnic electric wet and dry today, and it was so amazing. Didn’t use it wet yet, but i am saving it for the weekens. That is my time to get down and cleaned with my wet shaving. Hahaha!!!! I still hear the voice sometimes in my head as I was using my first electric razor and i had bought it from when I was at Summer camp growing up. I remember my father so against me shaving with the electric. He wanted me to take the time and learn to wet shave as I was taught and he was so against the electric razor. Hahahahahaa!!!! I was talking with him over thanksgiving about that this past year, and sharing memories about it. Hahaha!!! He laughed at that and told me that he thinks he remembers that. Anyways really I didn’t know this but back then I didn’t look at it like i do today, of course, but by him telling me to not use the electric and use a regular razor, really taught me a lesson. It was showing me, that shaving does take time and concentration. Not everything has to bee quick and fast all of the time. Well, the electric razor that I got was so slow compared to the high speed Panasonnic I just got today and we are talking years later. Well, when I have the time, I will I am sure dig out one of the regular razors again and shave with it. Got to say though that the new Panasonnic really gets close like a close razor shave. It is really fast and acurate. Feeling my shaved face, I can’t really till the difference from that shaved with the panasonnic to a regular razor because the technology hass come so so long compared to what razors left behind in the past. This panasonnic is so amazing.

The art of shaving store is actually in florida and it is expensive but u can get them a t costo for cheap bundle or single and some times u see them at Marshall or Ross for like 16$

In my opinion the sandalwood scent of The Art of Shaving and FINE are the very best and most original of all. Unfortunately most scents called "sandalwood" are heavily mixed with other aromas.

@@kensurfs A short feedback for you, Ken: I have used it for over one week in a row now and I am very happy with it. DSCosmetics advertises this brush as a “two-band badger”, which is wrong. It is definitely a three-band badger. Based on comparisons and my feeling of its performance I’d say the hair quality is in the upper-medium range, which is absolutely ok for the price. I am glad I went for the badger. For synthetics, I am only in the market for larger knots (28+).

Hello sir I have been shaving with the bevel razor the problem that I’m have is that when I finish shaving I feel Razor stubble when I lather up again to shave again I get irritation what am I doing wrong number two when I use the Bevel razor I can not get a close shave under my chin I have to finish that Area with a Harry’s razor can you please tell me what am I doing wrong with the bevel since I have been using bevel I am not getting a lot of razor bumps can u Give me any pointers of what I’m doing wrong and I enjoy your show

I’ve never tried the AOS Sandlewood, but I have the Lemon scent shave cream. I know you’ve said you like citrus scents. You should really try the Lemon. It’s like shaving with Lemon Merengue Pie. Amazing!

AoS Sandalwood is one of my favorite scents. I use the soap though. The travel brush I ditched in favor of a Simpson Wee Scot. I use the AS Balm Unscented all the time on soaps/creams I don't have a match for. Preshave I have the Sandalwood and Unscented, really don't get much difference. The AoS creams and soaps are still quality products.

Aos Sandalwood is my favorite of the line. I have been lately using their unscented stuff. It's really good. You can find their stuff at TJ Maxx and Marshall's from time to time at a good discount. I got a FULL SIZE unscented kit with a pure badger brush for like $35 and that badger brush smelled awful. Worst of any brush I have ever had. Took several uses to get that taken care of.

Ken, I've seen on You Tube some promising videos about removing the stink from animal-hair brushes. But I can't vouch for any of those methods because I love synthetic brushes for all the reasons you know, and they're all I use.
DwightM S just use some dishwashing agent to get rid of the smell. I use them to clean my pair of red wings boots too. Dishwashing liquids For the win.
