tysm for these videos. Its a relief to find a space where I can learn about npd without all of the stigma surrounding it getting in the way. pwNPD aren't allowed to take up space amongst other survivors of emotional abuse to discuss their difficulties.. but then in spaces specifically for npd/recovery, survivors of abuse by a pwNPD will still come by to let us know that we're apparently all subhuman abusive demons.
Feels like everywhere these days there's people armchair diagnosing their asshole ex as a narc, or sharing tips on "how to kill a narcissist", or on tiktok, convincing each other that our eyes can turn completely black like we're some kind of evil supernatural predator.
I just want to learn about how to act like a nicer person, feel seen in the chaos and pain and maybe find some peace one day. The stigma getting worse and worse doesn't really help.
I guess pathological narcissism is just the kind of trauma response you're not allowed to talk about having?

Welcome back to the middle ages where disorders were caused by demons and the villagers rallied with firebrands and pitchforks. The ironic part is that the biggest social media stars/hustlers who make big coin from 'the demon narcissist' all have major narcissistic traits. I suffer from NPD and I'd laugh if it wasn't so serious. My inner radar pings when I watch them. The people flooding their platforms to hate on narcissists (who are really just a$$hole exes) don't have any clue that they're being duped by actual narcissists. 😂 It's sad but it's almost a fitting punishment.

True, I always find it funny how people with NPD are somehow out of the equation of being the ultimate victims, I guess being completely rotten makes you a villain. In this day and age youtube certainly didn't helped, after finding about my diagnoses, seeing videos by doctor Ramani made me question if I want stay alive. Most of the time she is just so off with our motivations why we do things, but I guess hate sells her channel. I have to say Im actually amazed, that in this political correctness environment, this is ok.
Im really looking for ways to be of use with my NPD flaws.. Is it possible to date someone without slowly destroying the relationship because of my low self worth? Should I even date someone? Really nobody cares. I wish I was LGBTQ, I would be set for life.

can see how it would be scary to head towards change. I'm imagining having to cut off a gangrenous leg. Its rotten and stinks and no one wants to be around you because you can't stop whining about it. You want to run up and down mountains (like everyone else seems to) but youre stuck in bed. Its going to get worse and will kill you eventually. To get better you have to cut it off... but its your leg, and its held you up your whole life. You can't have anaesthesia in the surgery, either. You have to do the painful work to make the change. Afterwards you could maybe have a prosthetic... you might never feel like a whole person, or like you're hiding something. You might never get to run up and down mountains like you need yourself to. But maybe you could get from A to B and reach some realistic goals without needing loads of support. Maybe people would find it easier to tolerate you when you're not letting everyone know how much pain you're in
[I guess the infected leg would be grandiosity, if that makes any sense]
one thing I would be scared of would be a therapist being sadistic and feeling righteous about it. Being that vulnerable with anyone sounds so scary, especially when you're showing very unsavoury parts of yourself
