Why is this song on my true and absolute top 10 of all time. It doesn't make sense..................just makes me so emotional every single time after all these years. So simple a pure .............. maybe my fav group in Artful Dodger (although I think was only Mark by this time) and my fav singer - Mel Blatt has the most unique voice. So pleased to still love this song.
Wow I've not heard this in at least 15 years but what gem! A lovely blast from the past, it's easy to forget how classy urban pop/RnB/Garage music was back then. No nudity, vulgarity or violence, just catchy melodies and nice vocals...job done. Good times!
Girl, that’s absolutely not true. All saints had endless amounts of songs about explicit sex , but you and many others always try to cherry pick songs like this and invalidate today’s music… embarassing
i have good feeling those Korean Kpop boyband/girlband , someday they will ripping off these garage UK sounds if they still stuck in their stale boring dance sounds.. UK garage sounds was soo good back then and is still pretty good now (2022)
I cant believe this came out in Uk OVER 2 decades ago but still sounds so fresh. To this day I play this in car and get a nod from other motorists or people in streets appreciating a classic tune. UkGarage left behind some concrete classic tracks for us too still listen to today. Because of negative media coverage the sound and culture was put in the bin. Sad...
I have been watching this song so many times to realised many years later that this song is unique and so nostalgic! And Melanie Blatt is so gorgeous woman!
Artful dodger were with me all through my teenage years!!! I’m utterly grateful to have so many good memories whilst listening to all there fantastic music!!! Thanks Artful x
One of my all time favourite songs!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Still listening to it about 20 years today (if im right) from when I first got It’s All About the Stragglers (blue cover😉)!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was going through a heartbreak when this came out. It brings back some beautiful memories of him back in 2001. I still think of him now after 23 years. You have a special place in my heart nigel❤xx
Takes me back to working my first job in last year of high school in river island in 2000/2001. Ben sherman and kickers shirts and black straight leg trousers as my uniform with some bad ass kickers slip on loafers with a silver kickers band on the front 🤣 now I think back though that was such a good time
I was in love with Melanie blatt at this time... Beautiful voice and beautiful looking... Not literally coz I was with someone but secretly in my own head😂😂

I disagree. Artful Dodger had crossover appeal for both electronic music fans and pop fans but any true electronic music fan who also listens to electronica (downtempo instrumental electronic music, not dance music) wouldn't listen to Disclosure as they're more poppy and commercial. Artful Dodger would NEVER make a song like Latch, You Watch Your Step and You and Me. Artful Dodger were more experimental compared to the music at the time of 2000. They had a more traditional arrangement that was suited to a live band which shyed away from the more electronic sounding music all the time, although their more slower songs didn't exactly sound like the R&B being pushed by Alliyah, Ashanti, Brandy, Tweet, Nivea, R Kelly, Mario Winans, Omarian, Usher, John Legend. Also DIsclosure are more "deep house" and apart from their Control song their attempts at making garage suck. Garage originated from house which originated from disco so garage has always had a glowing, soft and meek sound with slinky drums like a fishbone. With Disclosure their music sounds more hurried, aggressive and grating, so people would think they like drum n bass music as they can't get the swing, syncopation, tonality, pacing and drums right.
This song is mad underrated.
So good.
The Early 2000s was the last GREAT Era
(2000 - 2003)

Underrated song: it's a masterpiece!
Yes
Defo I agree 100 percent...Production on this is onpoint...the intro with the acoustic is goose bumps
Loved it the moment i heard it back then. Couldn't believe it wasn't a big hit

It's what I need
If you want me to do you right
You're gonna have to love me day and night
24/7 love you know, just what I need
It's what I need
In the morning, in the evening

Whether it's early or it's late
It doesn't matter any time
Tender loving sweet devotion
Every second minute hour
I'll be waiting for you
Come put your lovin' on the line
close

Take me in your arms and let me know
That it's all right
Look into my eyes and let me see you
Deep inside
24 hours a day, seven days a week
I need to feel you here beside me
I need to hold and squeeze you tight
If you want me to do you right
You're gonna have to love me day and night

Quiet moments, filled with passion
In my heart you know I'm yearning
Long to please you, touch you
Send me your lovin' right on time
Take me in your arms and let me know
That it's all right (know that it's all right)

I think that artful dodger definitely paved the way for artists like disclosure.
I disagree.
