- Sublimation printing is a great technology to personalise polyester-based blanks like T-Shirts, Mugs, Bottles, Mouspads, Phone Covers and other items.
In this Tutorial you can learn about how sublimation printing works on a laser printer. With Ghost Sublime Toner customer can use a regular HP Office Laserjet printer to print Sublimation Transfersheets. This can be done without the use of expensive Transfer Papers but on regular copy paper.

I recently bought a Hp Printer and the line of ghost toners; i got confused with the two part papers I was seeing in videos for the process since you stated you could use regular copier paper; so can you use regular copier paper for the white toner? If you can, do you do the white first then the colored graphic? Is the two part paper more for a vinyl feel?
You can only use copy paper with Sublimation Toner on light polyester textile. The White Toner is to be used with the Laser-Dark Transfer A&B Papers and the regular CMYK Toners. This can be applied to any light or dark textile.

Excuse my ignorance, but why can't you print onto cotton with this laser printing? Will it not adhere to the cotton? Is there a way around it? Like the adhesive powder used in DGT?

Is the end result as good as if you were to use special transfer paper onto polyester t shirts?
Yes. The quality is great for all kinds of images and vectors. The only limitation is skintones and photographic images as there is no color management and the colors can shift.
Any plan to develop a RIP in order to avoide or to minimize the white edges and also white toner consumption, as well as to get more pure CMYK color where the white would not be needed by the B Paper, like the TRANSFER RIP of Forever does? Or there is the barrier of the limitation of the registration of the white printed and CMYK printed image?
Hi Hiroshi, to avoid the white edge you can either add a "bleed" to the color layer in photoshop by going to Select>Modify>Expand and enter number of pixels "5" is good range to start with..you'll then want to zoom in on that layer click inside where the "marching ants" appear and use paint bucket to fill in black or color of shirt your printing on. Print the color layer then run through again for the white toner base. If that doesn't work you can choose to reduce # of pixels on the white toner layer (range 3-5) using same method as above where instead of selecting "expand" in the Modify screen you would choose >Subract

What print settings would you recommend so we can make sure we get the correct vibrancy?
You will turn off any correction like HP easy color and use the Ghost ICC. Inquire it by email.
Is the regular copy paper prints on dark fabric ?

Yes exactly with normal copy paper.
On cotton T-shirts it also works but it works best on T-shirts made of / with polyester.
so could the sublimation toner be used in conjunction with ghost white toner for black fabric and would it still work using standard printing paper?
No. This is not possibel. The White Toner is not able to sublimate. Understanding the process of sublimation it is impossible to sublimate on dark polyester without a transfer paper.
So using 100% cotton is out of the question then?

Do you still need White toner for colored material for the sublime toner?
White Toner and Sublimation are different techniques. You can use White Toner and transfer media for light and dark. With sublimation (Sublime) Toner you can transfer to light poly fabrics without the use of transfer paper.
I’ve seen the hit or miss results of the laser heat transfer films. What guarantee does Ghost provide if I purchase these laser sublimation toners ($1250.00) and don’t like the results compared to the traditional wet ink method ($50.00) I use, will you refund me?

If i want to transfer names on ceramic part which isn't coated, shall i
1. coat them and use sublime toner with laser printer ( is coating required?)

what is the difference?
For the Sublime Toner a polyester coating is required. With our transfer media you can do that on almost any surface just using your standard laser printer.
any ICC profile for the ghost sublimation colors?
Not for now. We are currently checking if an ICC profile has any effect on the printing quality. For textiles it works great without any profile.

Das kommt auf die Farbe der Tasse an. Dunkle Tassen können nur im Transfer bedruck werden weil hier weißer Toner benötigt wird. Bei hellen Tassen funktioniert beides. Sublimation ist etwas günstiger und schneller. Interesting but the sublimation ink cost 60-70€, it is not high and one new printer Epson A3+, I bought few days before cost 435€ and one similar laser cost much more.

Mhh...using an old Epson 4880 and two Ricoh 3110 for sublimation. Ink is 60 Euro for 1000ml inkl. and that lasts long. How much must one Cartridge Sulimation toner?

Yes! For the Sublime Toner this is possible!
Around $900 for a set? They aren't even high yield cartridges. A bit misleading saying 2300 pages, that's at a 5% page yield. Lucky if you get 500 full page prints. You could buy enough inkjet sublimation dye and sheets to do 4 times as much (or more). Hell, even OEM toner + Neenah EZP would be cheaper. Cool concept and technology, but not priced to compete imho. It's a bummer because I have two HP M452's, and was totally excited until I saw the price.
Hi! We will soon launch a video explaining the standard we used for the Sublime Toner Yield Testing. The Yield of 2.000 pages per Set CMYK was based on a 40% coverage test chart. Each color represented with 10% coverage on A4. This is a very close representation of what customers actually print using Sublimation. We hope this information helps to understand that the cost are actually very low.
@@Ghost-White-Toner There is no way you're getting 2000 pages @40% out of a standard (410A) cartridge). And even if you were, sublimation inks are dirt cheap. I don't see the appeal here at all, not at this price.
@@pixelbat I understand your concern but believe it or not we made the test. A video on this will upload soon. Also the Sublime Toners are no Standard 410A Carts. We just use this as reference for the compatibility.
@@Ghost-White-Toner You can clearly see it's a standard 410A. A high yield 410X cartridge has a toner reservoir that extends far above the insert handle. You're not fooling anyone, lol.
pixelbat Have a look at the upcoming videos. We’ve done intense test to verify the print yield. Dye-Sub Toner has a different consumption than standard Toner.

Yes and no! With the regular CMYK and the White Toner and Ghost Transfer Media you can also print on almost every substrate that fits under your heatpress. The advantage is that you don't need a seperate machine for this but can just swap the Toners.
