I hope you know if you ever just stop posting timestamps for a few days, the entire internet will be looking for you lmao.
Thanks as always
Wow. Didn’t expect such a fast timestamping on a surprise stream. You are really good at this and thank you! I fall asleep to WAN and your timestamps are the key to finding where I drifted away last nigth

I think what we we really want to see , is a comparison of the current Intel drivers and the drivers in say, 6 months time on the same base system to see how much performance improves through the drivers alone.
It would probably by a lot as more people are buying it
Sadly I don't think drivers are going to drastically improve things as they did on Alchemist. A report I read pointed out that, and I think Intel confirmed this, that it's an architectural problem and to really get everything this card has to offer is more dependent on CPU than on anything Intel can do on the driver side.
I'm surprised you didn't immediately run away with that hat on.
The opposite of the millennial pause, when a livestream vod cuts off the beginning few words because the presenter started too early
You should do a blind test. Seat someone behind the computer and don't tell them what GPU they have. You can do the same experiment with DLSS with less experienced users (Who won't recognize DLSS right away - like editors or writers)
In India Arc B580 is about 545 USD and 4060 is 360 USD (converted from INR) so nvidia is clearly a winner here, Linus is right about pricing in different regions
So the Final tally was:
Intel: 6
Nvidia: 13
Tie: 9
So even a tie is better purchase than intel? The only downside is that you need to learn how to tie the tie I guess. 🤔
If I could actually find an Intel card for msrp in stock then I would give all the tie points to Intel for due to the price but seeing as how I can’t find any msrp arc cards I will give those points to nvidia.
Final Final tally:
Nvidia 22
Intel 6
@@dillonh321Give it a bit more time before they are more available. In maybe 6-7 months they should be back to or below msrp.

The Skyrim crash was the most entertaining thing 😂
FYI i see B580 for $250 at Micro Center (Intel OEM), only 6 in stock between both Chicago land stores
I really love these Intel Arc streams!! Would love for you to do this with more tecg
I'm really curious what's happening with the ARC B580 that it doesn't want to push its usage above 40-50% on some games where the 4060 is going to 80-90%. This may be part of the reason the B580 was loosing some of the matchups.
Maybe drivers, I've seen significant fps gains with each update.
I don't know what changed but this video is so smooth.
They do such streams at 60fps to better show off the difference in fps in games
Destiny 2 blocks all overlays for security purposes. You can only get a small select number of programs to run an overlay. Nvidia shadowplay and Steam are the only ones I know that work with D2.
42:50 “I should have been an accountant” 😂
I'm surprised the 4060 is considered 1080p high, 1440p medium when my 2070 does 1080p high already on an even older CPU.
I WAS THINKING THE SAME! i have 2070 and thinking of upgrading. 6 years now
When you realized that 2070 and 4060 are at least 5 years apart, you will see it.
2070 has better hardware but it won't do better at Ai processing stuff and Ray Tracing.
Tbh, people calling new cards a "1080p card" or a "1440p card" really is just for the newest most demanding games. Heck, you can play 1440p high in a ton of games with an RX 580 60+ FPS, but that's decidedly a 1080p low/medium card in today's naming scheme.
So I was surprised that my 2080 super was so far ahead or in line with some of the later generation cards, the gap between the mid and the low end has always been pretty significantly marked out under the high end, but eventually you get a couple generations done at the line and you expect that to just you know even out at some point...
There's a lot of things though involved, the higher memory bandwidth is one of them, and it's a significant factor that you should consider when choosing a GPU, and one of the reasons why I would not consider the the slightly cheaper version of this card at all.. for many reasons but but that one in particular.
You also have to factor in that these are statements made to the modern gamer, which is the glorified console gamer at best that just happens to be on a rainbow Skittle vomit keyboard maybe, and half the time not even that.. like they don't tweak settings anymore, or adjust for performance they just they set things if they even set them.. they don't even do that these days.
So the there is some play, it's just really frustrating because it's hard to figure out how much play exactly, and advanced tweaking guides are not really a thing anymore, ever since well the obvious tweak guides went away and all that.. and advanced tweaking is kind of become somewhat difficult depending on the engine, and certainly not something that these companies don't try to restrict usually.
I think a lot of it has to do with the 4060 in particular though being while technologically enhanced with its families feature set to a degree.. It was honestly worse in some cases than the 3060 TI and, even the 3060 often in a lot of benchmarks back when it came out.. and that's a weird one, and I don't think I can recall the last time that they managed to be exactly on par with the previous generation more or less.. regardless of the number, which is always going to get scammieer the further you go down down the stack.
It's also make a point back in the day as you went down the stack, the price got exponentially more in line with the level of scam usually.. there were always deals that were too good to be true but you had to understand what the product was to get the deal, not so much that a product could be a good deal.. The product was what it was, it's just a 9400 was a $40 including tax purchase.. whereas a 9800 GT you could probably pull for about 250 bucks, as long as that it was one generation behind.. which was usually about 6 months at the time. And in that case that was a special thing with overflow that happened occasionally back then. Like the 7800 GTO which was a little bit of a snaggle but still a cool deal if you get it and make it work and we're careful.
The thing is it's like, that 9400 nowadays would be sold for real money, and that's where it becomes unacceptable.
@ I do local Stable diffusion and Flux schnell image gen. It takes about 35 sec to make a 1024*1024 image. It's not the fastest but I don't really need better when using preview samplers and upscaling... :)
Oh and I do use Raytracing when available, It takes some tweaking but framerate is fine. I'm hoping to get better results .
I'll consider upgrading for 1440p in the future though.
More of these please!!! Great job guys!

Exciting times ahead with Adaxum! Just joined the presale, can't wait to see where this project goes
Andy looks great today.
For years I never considered PC gaming because 1. I knew nothing about PCs and 2. If you've seen Dawids video about PC market in South Africa, you'll know how expensive everything is. But I found a video that got me into PC building and over a few months, I built my PC one component at a time. It's been a year now and I'm finally considering a GPU for real thanks to Intel showing up with the B580. I feel like before June I will have a full PC build and it's pretty cool that I'm thinking about things like Ray tracing now for real
Linus should become NVidia investor so he can attend investor meetings and maybe have an impact.
You also have to keep in mind that intel's drivers for the B580 are in a much earlier development state and intel has shown how they got faster with each driver using the example of the Alchemist GPU!
I feel investors should focus on under-the-radar stocks, considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market. The safest approach I feel to tackle it is to diversify investments by spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate and stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown
I've just begin to learn about investment, and I've found that many good stocks are undervalued despite their intrinsic value. If you had quarter of a million to create a strong portfolio, which stock would you choose for better returns?
Based on personal experience, it's advisable to work with an investment advisor, I currently have $780k in a well-diversified portfolio that has experienced exponential growth, all thanks to my financial adviser. It's not only about having money to invest in stocks, you must also be knowledgeable, persistent and have strong hands to back it up
I'm trying to find a certified one to boost my investments/portfolio. Can I get a recommendation from you, since you know about this stuff?
My financial adviser is Gabriel Alberto William, he is not just a broker, he is a financial adviser that gives advice on any financial matters
Thanks for sharing, I just looked him up on the web and I would say he really has an impressive background in investing. I will write him an e-mail shortly
Love the 60fps!
Linus you are a champion! Keep championing on champion!
Love that GTX 4060 experience? Can't say I have ever seen one before.
On the arc b580 for games like Elden ring, the stutters were caused by intermediate drop in gpu usage (ex: 78% to below 50%).
Also it looked like the b580 actively beat the 4060 by a margin of, at minimum, 10fps avg in war frame. That’s what it looked like in your footage.
I think you gave too many wins to nvidia when they were directly head to head or if there were minor issues.
It seemed like the user-mode drivers for the b580 were not optimized enough for the games it didn’t win in. Honestly, I think the b580 has the potential to beat the 4060 in every game with driver improvements.
Also I think less powerful CPU’s affect ARC performance possibly because they may not be able to handle resize-able BAR as well? Not sure.
Linus. A battlemage would wear leather.

"Get the assless chaps!"

I think Linus might be over thinking the LTT store a little.
You don't need to release ALL SKUs in the UK. You could start with your simplest products with few variations (e.g., the backpack) and have a smaller selection until you figure out the audience here.
We already have to pay crazy amounts for shipping, so I for one don't mind at all if you have to increase the price to go somewhere in between.
Just my 2 cents, I'm no expert!
1:27:40 Emperor's new groove! ❤

Poor, sweet summer child Jordan saying it's not worth it to upgrade from his 1080 Ti.... Brother...
love to see linus play elden
Shame they did not get to play guild wars 2. Fantastic game and a good example of an older game that continues to get frequent updates.
Jordan is the real hero.
Wait Arc still has NO VR support??? damn, well there goes any last hope of my choosing one. I was still erring on the side of not getting one depending how this stream went with Arc's historically poor support for older games, but no VR alone is a complete dealbreaker to me. For those who don't care about VR or older games I'm happy it's here as a value option, and to hopefully challenge the other 2 players to keep prices under control though :)
Also I know it's too late, and I haven't actually watched the whole thing yet, but I've have loved to see a speed run of every game that failed the last time you guys did this, IMO improvements in compatibility is more important that overall compatibility.
I'm not usually one to jump into presales, but with Adaxum, I couldn't resist. This is a solid project with massive potential!
Would have loved a longer video about this.
The world is not running out of helium. It will be harder to produce significant quantities but there is enough going around. You can get it from natural gas. You can even condense it out of the atmosphere.

My last system was also based on Linus and it was with 1650..... 7-8? Years ago?
I am used to playing Ark with minimum settings hahaa

"Dumb" question: Whatever happened to having the lowest-end AIB GPU being passively cooled? I have a couple of non-rack server builds teed up that need (barely) more than no GPU, but no extra moving parts. Is the 1030 the last option?
There is the Kalx models from Palit.
Gtx 1650 and Rtx 3050 6 GB are the top models. But they quite taller than the bracket
not able to passively cool all the new cards. cores, vms and memory chips just too hot now with how dense they are
Yeah they just pull too much power to passively cool them without having a massive amount of heatsinks
On-board igpu got good enough that they aren't really viable products, so you get the old 1030 still being produced for those that just need an output from something with no igpu.
I think the last reasonable passive card I saw was a 1060 but'I've not been paying close attention really the last few years.
/edit see palit did a 3050 passive.
Other option is to get a lower powered chip with a big cooler and just take the fans off. (something like a xx60 series with a triple slot/fan cooler)
If it gets anywhere near hot it'll just throttle the frequency anyway. or if you tune the fan curve to min RPM, they should be extremely quiet anyway.
They get to hot for that now. APUs may be your best option.

does no one get the reference in the title!? LMAO. bloodninja legendary.
Interesting that the B580 usually has a slight edge, but when it lags, it lags by a large margin (though it seems to mostly happen at pretty high framerates anyway). Definitely makes me think either it's something that could be fixed with driver updates, or it's a matter of those specific games really leaning hard on specific Nvidia architecture choices.
11:26 this scene i like the 4060 better you can see the sunlight
Did LTT just improved the video framerate or is it just me? Looks smooth af

Now is probably the best time to ape in ICOs like Adaxum token, before real alt run begins!
So for us europeans the 4060 is by far the best option. Not even close. A bit of a bummer. I had hoped there would be some competition.
SONY still have headphone jack and an aspext ratio meant for single-handed use. Writing this on an Xperia 5V.
Taking into account that Nvidia might have a driver optimization advantage, but then also not taking into account that B580 usually performs better on higher resolutions due to that. The fact you didn't have a monitor capable of outputting even 2k is weird considering Linus first instinct to having like 160+ fps is just turning the resolution up. Which is what I also would have done.
Linus can do a live show and have the pacing is the same as an edited upload.
Emperor's New Groove and Kronks' new Groove are underrated.
Reading Adaxum's whitepaper as we speak. The innovation and technology behind this project are mind-blowing!
It would have been nice to have a few games that are known to use more than 8GB of VRAM, to see if the4060, with its 8GB, suffered on those games.
Thank You so much for testing SnowRunner too (^_^) It was an excellent show.
