I grew up right by this house (within a block or two) but never got to go in. Some of my schoolmates were able to see a puppet show there (not sure why I missed out, I think maybe I wasn't in that specific class). Thank you for letting me finally see inside!

Incredible. I hope whoever buys it keeps it in the original state. It would be a mortal sin to change it.
That stove/sink/fridge/oven combo is incredible. Why aren't they making something like that now?
(Did I see an elliptical machine in a bedroom? Imagine...they had those in 1820? in such great shape too!)

I wish Ann Clay could decorate this house in primitive style! I love your shows. I haven’t seen a lot of decorator info from you, Lanie. You don’t make videos of shopping. What sturdy architecture. This is what the building industry as a whole should be doing, restoration and house flipping. We have so many really cool vacant buildings. In every state people could find houses if more folks working in the building industry would not demolish. Love it.

I Live a block away from this house and have always wondered how it looked on the inside. That's pretty cool. The thing I like about it the most is how it's hidden abit from the road. It looks like it belongs in a movie or storybook when viewing it in real life.

Laine and Kevin, there is a monstrosity of a civil war era home , run down, on the top of a hill on the right side of Hwy 61 leaving Vicksburg, Ms going north. One can barely see it in winter and not at all in the summer. I caught a glimpse of it by mistake one day while heading back to the Delta. Have you seen the plantation home in Nitty Yuma, Ms ? It was moved there by the side of Hw 61. I hope y’all will have the time to try to see them, both. I have fears concerning their survival. If y’all know anything about either home, please just let me know they are secure. I have loved the Nitty Yuma home since I was a child. I even begged my ex husband to purchase her when they were moving her to the hwy. No Go on that. Every time I pass her empty walls , I imagine all manner of scenarios we could have experienced with her. This house you are introducing today is a beauty. I hope she receives the perfect owners.

It's great to see old features intact and unspoiled. All that beautiful paneling could be restored. If B&B was the objective, there's space for a roomy owner's suite downstairs, leaving three of the big rooms as living and dining areas. Upstairs, you might use the small back bedrooms to create bath/dressing rooms for the front bedrooms. I will look forward to your video that includes the guest cottages.

I would think the rooms at the far Back of the house are the earliest. Probably two cottages hooked together? Then the addition of the two story with the central hall. Then the 1 story with the grand entrance and bigger parlors. At some point the original front of the house or cottages became the back of the house. When the 1 story grand entrance was added they ripped out the modest farm house (probably enclosed) staircase for an open staircase which was the fashion at the time.
