Hello Guys, in this video, I have covered each and every information related to How to Reach Ooty, Tamil Nadu from Coimbatore. Coimbatore is the nearest main city and place from where you can start your journey for Ooty. Coimbatore has railway station and airport as well. From Coimabtore to ooty, the total road distance is 80 Kms and it takes 4 hours to reach Ooty from Coimbatore.

From Coimbatore, you can either take a private taxi, or bus to reach Ooty.
Coimbatore to Ooty Bus Charges: Rs 80
Coimbatore to ooty Private Taxi: Rs 3000-4000 one way
Mettupalayam to Ooty Toy train : INR 90-500

Please note, mettupalayam is 30 Kms away from Coimbatore, and the toy train option is available from Mettupalayam for Ooty.

Time has flown by. I first landed in Coimbatore in January 1968. My job involved traveling a lot. I had to visit Nilgiris every month and stay in Ooty for five days. Those days the bus services were only private ones. The MCS bus was most popular on Coimbatore - Ooty route. The fare was Rs 3 and the First Class bus fare was Rs. 4-50. The room at Modern Lodge on Ettines Road cost Rs 12 per bed that included breakfast, lunch and dinner. There were no auto rickshaws then. Only Vauxhall Wyvern or Velox taxis whose drivers used to fill petrol only after seating the passengers.

Lot of white colour Ultra Deluxe buses are there in morning.105/- ticket price. Reaches Ooty on 3 hrs. 2+2 reclining seats and Air bus.

But in reality I born and raised in ooty and I left ooty and settled in Mumbai and I am missing my native place and my beloved relatives and friends and specially my schools At.Antonys
My school's name is St. Anthony's primary school in kandal and my high school is in St.marrys hill name is At. Joseph's high school now it called At Joseph's college and school.But I left ooty on 1974 and settled in Mumbai and now I am missing my beautiful mother land ooty.

Nilgiris is not what it used to be with rampant deforestation urbanization and over population and pollution due to extreme traffic.. There are slums everywhere nature has vanished and its hot too

Can we travel from coonoor to Ooty by train by taking the unreserved tickets from the ticket counter at the station or do we have to have the confirm reservation, please reply
It's better to get reserved. Chances are high for not getting tickets at counter. Train starts around 7 am in the morning
