Hutch seems like a friendly guy, he's going to love it at BCR. The bobcats are clearly not fond of people which is great. If they can be rehabilitated maybe they'll stay far away from humans. Little ones, think of needles, cages and worse of all, irate farmers, if you're tempted to go near people.Plenty of ducks in the wild.
The way that Hutch just sits up he looks like an Egyptian God like "Yes humans, entertain me"

It is not like moving a domestic cat. These bobcats are very fierce, and this is fast, safe, and efficient.
no, i mean that it look like there is a good chance that the cat could run out and not get in the net and then go all tazmania devil on your ass.

Do you guys microchip the bobcats before you release them? In case the get re-injured or recaptured at another time? Or for population monitoring? It's such a wonderful program!
We do not chip or tag any of our rehab bobcats. We do set up camera traps at their release site.

Is there a limit on how much you’re allowed to touch the adolescents? Or is it more of an issue of their and your own safety because they’re wild animals. I just saw in other videos with even smaller cubs you handled them with a level of distance.

I am curious, Don't they get upset when moved in the cage usually? My house cat HATES its carrier.
Sometimes they do not like it, but it has to be done.
Is there much difference between the vocalizations of an angry adult bobcat and an angry bobcat kitten? Those 4 month olds sound absolutely terrifying.
They are a bit different but equally as scary.

That was our president who has been doing this her whole life. The new arrivals showed with short notice so she only had time to rush in. She did not have an opportunity to go home and change.

It was quick, safe, and efficient. Wild bobcats are naturally scared of humans. They would have hid in the crate the whole time if we didn't net them out. Our doctor was there, and we needed to get them the care they needed. We would not have been able to give them that in those dog crates.

How common are fleas in big cats you rescue, and in general? Do you treat all big cats with and without fleas with flea treatment when they arrive? Just curious ☺

We would never breed, buy, sell, or trade any of our big cats.
Beautiful cats, and happy for them. However, what is the woman using the net doing wearing FLIPFLOPS!? I see several potentially serious safety issues, but that is the most blatant. Please, girls, (and this does seem to be a 90% female operation) do upgrade your safety awareness and practices. . . unless you actually want to incur and/or pay medical expenses for on-the-job injuries.
That was our President, who is the daughter of the founder and has been doing this since she was a small child. She had to rush to the sanctuary when these cats arrived and did not have a chance to go home and get appropriate shoes.
I am glad she cares, and her family has obviously done a great service to these animals. However, she could easily leave a pair of appropriate shoes at the shop. This would protect herself as well as demonstrate to young viewers that common sense and safety are easy and good things.
