Great video again. The music is dope and Shantideva´s story is really inspiring. I guess He made good the old saying " it is not wise to judge a book by its cover". Keep up the good work mate!

how is this story or the character 'Shantideva' suppose to be inspiring? What is the lesson from this really? That someone was compassionate and helpful to people in need, then instead of continuing to help people with the resources on hand, dude decides to retreat himself into a Jungle, like all Princes in Indian mythology liked to do, then what happens? sometime later the dude enrolls in an university, doesn't appear to socialize, interact, and be useful or helpful to others, clearly people are annoyed with his non participation in the communal life, that they device an evil plan to make him do something worthwhile for the community, now comes the dramatic, awe inspiring moment of the story, so this character recites 9 chapters of a book, levitates as he does that, and eventually disappears, so what is the point of this story again? just keep to yourself, and memorize the text, so when you are called to teach, you can recite and magically levitate and disappear. What the hell is this story all about? You want real inspiring stories, it is all around you, there are people who do extraordinary things in their ordinary lives, like holding 2 jobs to feed a family, you see anyone like that, what more inspiration do you need?
why must you be inspired? why do you look for it externally at things that you or someone else does? The moral of the story is "Silence" when you are neither attached nor have any aversion yet love flourishes. When you go beyond likes or dislikes. When all your self centered activities end along with its feeling of loneliness and the pursuit of pleasure. When all that ends there is the sacred silence which is not produced by thought. It is not the silence between 2 thoughts. When this sacred silence operates the ego - thoughts - the conditioned human mind is transformed without any effort. You feel what has this man contributed - With his teachings of bodhisattva there are so many beings atleast trying to be good in this world but the problem itself is in trying. When you try to do something you tend to avoid who you are. This is why no knowledge or holy books or even Gods can transform the conditioned human mind. Only you can and this is why you must be your own teacher and student at the sametime. Stop looking to be inspired. Only a deteriorated mind looks for inspiration - rather ones focus should be on what causing its deterioration and not move away from it and try something else. The answer to the problem is always within the problem not away from it.
@@gabrielr8642 Right, so the point of this story is be 'silent', keep to yourself, don't participate in communal activities or contribute to society, and so in the end you experience this sacred silence. And how is that helping me pay bills or raise a family? And then you say 'you are your own teacher and student at the same time', and you follow the teachings of Bodhisattva? Isn't that contradicting your statement? Then why waste time posting a story if it not suppose to teach or inspire?
@@selvamthiagarajan8152 that Sacred Silence reflects on ones thoughts and actions. The way one does their work improves 1000 times when that supreme intelligence operates. It has nothing to do with action or in action or desire or will. When that intelligence operates it touches all parts of life. In this story what the other monks were trying to achieve all their life - Shantideva did that in silence and bestowed the teachings for generations and generations. He did what needs to be done quietly. "'you are your own teacher and student at the same time'" It means one has to observe their own life and learn without any form of authority of others or even your own authority that comes when you accumulate knowledge about yourself as you learn about yourself.
What use of this silence if it has no impact on your daily living? it is totally worthless but When that sacred silence operates it touches all parts of one's life. It can be seen in one's daily actions and thoughts. In fact any work that person does will be 1000 times greater than otherwise. What all the other monks tried to achieve, ShantiDeva did that in silence and bestowed the teachings for generations and generations. But never force yourself to be silent using desire or will. You know, in the hopes of getting something in return. We are speaking of that type of silence which is not produced by thinking - it is not what is commonly called as "meditation". This sacred silence has nothing to do with thought. It happens as a result when all self centered activities and pursuit of pleasure etc.. comes to an ending naturally without any control or effort. The video about Shantideva is to see whether it's possible to live like that and find what happens if you live like that... not to look for inspiration and blindly follow everything by controlling or suppressing or modifying your own thoughts and feelings. 'you are your own teacher and student at the same time' means to observe your own life and find out and learn for yourself not through the authority of others (guru or holy books etc.) neither through your own authority - you know when you start to learn about yourself you will begin to accumulate that knowledge and will use that to define yourself - you should avoid that too. Your own knowledge about yourself will inevitably create an image about yourself and that image will prevent you from further learning. The video is for us to find out if there is a different way to live than the way we are currently living which is obviously so destructive and self centered. Always looking for some gain or the other whether inspiration or money or pleasure etc. Always asking for something or the other. Love always acts whether that person or thing is useful or not. It doesn't matter to love. But human love is full of demands and expectations.
