Cecile is based on real life person Cecile Caminades which was the former communication manager for Konami Paris and she is friends with Kojima plus his assistant Ayako, worked as a public relations manager on MGS4 and to this day still works with the independent Kojima Productions as a tour guide / planner when Kojima and team are doing business related trips in other countries or when they did the Death Stranding world tour. She also worked as a coordinator / manager for Death Strandings french translation which was handled by her PR Agency LU6.1. Kojima said the character is meant to act as a bridge between the everday life and the extraordinary (Snake and MSF fighting) with having her talk about everyday topics such as fashion, restaurants, movies etc. Also after finishing the game you can find three Strangelove briefing files about The Boss by replaying AI Pod boss battles in story mission.
hey Whimsy ✌️: "How do i get the sneaking suit" -You already got it as a mission reward. "What letter ??!" - the letter to Dr Strangelove that Huey gave you (he begged you not to read it) . It's in your documents in the mother base menu. "That whole dialogue is new" - No, it was the first dialogue with Th Boss on the codec at the begining of mgs3. The Boss only had one child she gave birth to during World War II. Adam (Ocelot). Only Snake and Eva know the truth about The Boss. Strangelove dosen't have access to that data. ☮️
RE: ghillie suit The moment of you googling made me remember the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the mission "All Ghillied Up". Legendary. I dunno if you played, but if you haven't, then let's say it's a recommendation from me
1:45:16 is a reference to Dr Livingstone (for you young people out there) who was presumably missing in Africa in 1869 so the New York Herald sent Henry Morton Stanley to search for him, he found him in 1871 calmly standing on a hill looking out on Lake Tanganyika. Stanley afraid to be dismissed by the famous doctor if he rushed and embraced him just went up to him and said "Dr Livingstone I presume?" as if they had met in a London gentlemans club for no reason.
Woah 24:50 you did it I was rooting for you also the team dispatch to secret missions is real cool i bet they did it first so much to experience I feel great video
It being presented in the context of the final battle definitely didn't help. It's essentially an encapsulation of everything The Boss told Snake during the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater.
5:45 In case you didn't realize the reason for this, the enemies get damaged when you throw another enemy onto them. So if you just CQC the first guy and he doesn't get hit by the others when you CQC them, he will not get knocked out. That is why they sometimes get back up. This is only for the first guy, the game deals enough damage for the others to get knocked out when you throw them but not the first guy. Also don't forget to replay the "Infiltrate the Crater base" mission and film your reaction for choosing the wrong trucks. You also get more injuries and deaths when you skip the outer ops results. 57:06 "Bully Psyche" 1:11:40 You unlocked the Sneaking Suit in the last mission 1:39:46 You can read letters under Other at Mother Base
It's in the "Other" category in the R&D section of Mother Base, under documents I think? Same place as design specs and camo variations but you have to press the Triangle button for more details on it.
I love Whimsy's concern for the armored vehicles health. Even though they get fully repaired after a couple of missions, it's nice to know she's making MSF mechanics jobs easier.
1. Stronger enemies have higher psyche which means they won't get knocked out by a single CQC throw. 2. There are 3 CQC throws with varying power; quick throw (hold R1 while moving), strong throw (hold R1 without moving then move in a direction to throw them that way), and consecutive CQC. 3. For consistency, use quick throw. This won't knock them out but while they're on the ground, they can be held up. 4. If you have limited fulton, there are ways to kill enemies without locking out an S rank; you can throw enemies off a cliff or onto a vehicle's wheels/tracks using the strong throw. 5. If you throw an enemy onto a wall, it knocks them out no matter how strong they are. 6. You have the NVG. Use it to highlight enemies through smoke or to easily find those that are hiding. 7. You have the sneaking suit. Not as good camo for jungle environment but silences your movement which makes for quicker hold ups. 8. Equipping rations automatically uses it when taking fatal damage.
Congrats for your first chopter! That felling of redoing a mission until you manage to pull the stunt off its really a true gamer thing 🤣 And dont fell bad if you cant take a tank or other vehicle on the 1st time, some of the missions are suposed to be done after you got some better equipment. Also, a lot of people said it some videos back, so i dont know if you already read it or not, but please, do the mission with the trucks again, and check all of then before the right one, for a easter egg you sure wont want to miss And please, stop bullying the soldiers that have "E" stats 🤣 oh, the poor guys
1:58:48 it’s not explained very well in the game but you get parts for Zeke by destroying particular parts of the AI bosses (such as destroying the jet packs on the Pupa)
Oh whimsy You’ve committed to such a difficult road, but I have perfected the strat in my PSP years. - stick with the holdups, more predictable imo - bring your NVGs to see through the smoke - don’t take any chances, tranq if necessary - dunno if you noticed, but in this game ONLY, having weapons equipped lowers your camo index. Always keep your hands empty and crouch run if you wanna avoid detection by the vehicle - run thé Analyzer on the vehicle if you can for some valuable numbers.. - for ground vehicles, when you run out of fultons, you can dispose of the guards…indirectly with the vehicle 😅
Yeah the location of the soldier with the orange jacket is actually random whenever you play this mission. He's usually in the area where you fight the helicopter, at least in my playthroughs. Just bad RNG. The old Metal Gear games, i.e. before Solid, had a lot of moments like this mission. It's kinda nuts in retrospect. Highly recommend everyone watching some playthroughs of them, Pat Stares At did both just recently.
Another wonderful episode as always Whimsy. Super happy to watch it this time having ramen as breakfast ❤ I feel you can do that of recording in different days so you can stick videos together as a whole one episode (for example for boss battles being the last part of a big episode and that way you don’t kill the “epic moment” cause it feels anti climatic at some point, but it’s okay, I do keep enjoying your MGS videos so much, I grew uo with the franchise because I have older brothers, I played first MGS in spain spanish back in 1999, then I played MGS2 in 2002 when we got our PS2 from the USA, since we didn’t know much english, one of my brothers who was studying english at that time played with us while translating it. I had my PSP in 2009, and when Peace Walker came out in 2010 I felt really happy to be alive and being able to play it with my best friend, I mean, watching your videos just remind me of the best memories of my childhood and teenager days playing my favorite franchise ❤ Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤
The vehicle fights are SUPER tough, especially when you don't have all the bells and whistles. I suspect that even the PS3 version was balanced for multiple players to be doing these missions. Maybe I'm wrong? Not entirely sure. I want to mention what my favorite thing to do against APC's is, but it might be taken as backseating, so I'll wait until the last Peace Walker video or something. Anyway, thanks for such a fun and entertaining playthrough. All the best. :)
one thing about the analyzer is that it only reveals one of the stats so even if it shows C, D or E for intel or R&D, the soldier could still be S/A/B grade in combat or medic or another skill, that’s why there’s a ??? under the grade, it needs to be fully upgraded to see all the soldier’s stats so it’s still worth fultoning them anyway
Aah thank you so much! It only looks like this sometimes when I sleep with a hair band to curl/wave them slightly 🥰 I should do it more often I like it too 🤣
Good luck fighting "TJ Chrysalis 6000" in the next vid, cuz you definitely are going to need it. 😏😜 Recommend you equip & use the "FIM-43 Redeye" for the fight, since you don't have the "FIM-92 Stinger" yet.
I never played Peace Walker, but I'm looking forward to see her play MGSV. Does anyone have a timeframe for when she'll finish PW, or how far along she is?
I wanna say she's a little under halfway through? There's some RNG involved with Zeke too which you need to develop for the ending. As long as she keeps developing better gear then the boss battles shouldn't take up too much time.

I dont know about that Cecile background! Thanks for the fun fact!
What do you think she thought of being portrated on the game on her undies...?
she's also in Death Stranding 2
hey Whimsy ✌️:

ghillie suit AKA sniper Chewbacca
24:37 You got the sneaking suit!

Isn’t her name a reference to the movie Dr Strangelove or How i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb?
@@chandlerburse her name yes, but the "Dr X I Presume" is from real life Dr Livingstone.
Woah 24:50 you did it I was rooting for you also the team dispatch to secret missions is real cool i bet they did it first so much to experience I feel great video
1:55:34 The Dialogue isnt new. She said it in the first codec conversation and in the scene on the Bridge.
It being presented in the context of the final battle definitely didn't help. It's essentially an encapsulation of everything The Boss told Snake during the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater.

Everyone is an ornithologist around here!
01:48:20 Sounds like a turret from Portal. 😂
Fun episode! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Whimsy!
You should read Huey's letter if you haven't already. I think it's an item
It's in the "Other" category in the R&D section of Mother Base, under documents I think? Same place as design specs and camo variations but you have to press the Triangle button for more details on it.
I can totally see Whimsy cosplaying Dr. Strangelove or even Vic Boss at the end of this playthrough 😊
I think she can pull off a Kaz cosplay. It'll double as a Liquid cosplay too.
I love Whimsy's concern for the armored vehicles health. Even though they get fully repaired after a couple of missions, it's nice to know she's making MSF mechanics jobs easier.
cause big boss take care of the MSF guys
Hahaha when you put it like that 🤣

You really need to go back to the cutscene where you check trucks and make sure to inspect all the wrong trucks !
I second this!
One of the greatest games ive played, remember as a kid just spending boring summers playing and listening to all the tapes😅
Congrats for your first chopter!

Question 4. Have you ever tried the sock trick sleeping with one sock on and one off. Does wonders. Use sparingly. 🐀
Never tried that no 🤣
50:42 😂
She drink the yerba too haha
There are logos for all the areas to let you know the terrain before you choose your outfit....
Fuck, that's what the symbols are for on the map screen? I've beat the game three times and never noticed it.
1:48:25 That song here is "Sing", originally from the Sesame Street in 1971. The Carpenters' version from 1973 became a no. 3 Billboard hit.
24:00 yes that one was a Hind B
Remember to equip your Sneaking Suit. You got it after that helicopter battle

I could be crazy and it's always looked like this but your hair looks awesome!
Aah thank you so much! It only looks like this sometimes when I sleep with a hair band to curl/wave them slightly 🥰 I should do it more often I like it too 🤣
I`m glad Whimsey translated that.
Oh boy! The real deal is here! Lets go! ❤
So many tapes, so little time! They must go through a lot of Walkman batteries.
Nah, Snake just has to eat a few Glowcaps and he's all set.
Good luck fighting "TJ Chrysalis 6000" in the next vid, cuz you definitely are going to need it. 😏😜

57:09 you sounded like pewdiepie 😂
The door won`t open? Guess that requires a manual overide. Sorry, that`s a reference from Portal 2.

Depends on whether she just finishes the main game or also goes for the extra stuff.
Great, thanks for both of you guys' input.
1:02:18 you're pretty good
Good ending
Your hair looks perf!
