  • I made this arty junk journal from scratch, including binding the whole book together. I think it has turned out really well so today I'll flip through it all, and I plan on filling it with paintings instead of writing. I started with one painting in this episode, and there will be a follow up video once I eventually finish it. Whenever that will be, haha!

    Great book title “things rarely go according to plan”, so true. Can’t believe the amount of time you must have spent working on your latest junk journal. Adding more art, so lots more to do. Never going to start junk journaling, already have limited time, but love seeing what you create. Your themes for birds, flowers and butterflies always looks good. Maybe with Christmas coming, you could do a Christmas themed journal.

      Thank you! I did most of this after working on videos; I'd spend a bit of time in the afternoons, and some days had more time to have entire "crafternoons", haha! I find it so relaxing making them, with no pressure for it to be anything in particular. I haven't got a lot of Christmas stuff, but maybe I can make one over a number of years when I collect new papers and festive junky bits. 😄

    This junk journaling looks fun 🎉. I think it would fun to have a journaling club. Like the one you do for coloring at the library. 🎉 cardinals are very bright in real life. I’m loving your cardinal painting.

      @@vhacker71 Thank you! A journaling club would be fun, and also make a huge mess, judging by the state of my desk and that's just one person. 🤣

    Last year I got a "gift subscription" of Daphne's Diary for myself which expired automatically after one year - I saved those magazines to use them as collage material 🙂 Sometimes I make journals out of cereal cardbox and magazine pages and other papers. After I'm done I keep them for a short time to "admire my work" - and then they go into the recycling bin to make space for the next one(s) 🤣 Your journal is beautiful, my favourite piece is the card your mother gave you 🥰

      Thank you, I love that card too! I struggle to throw things into the recycling bin, which is why my studio gets so full, haha. 😂

    Fantastic! I love papercrafts and using scraps to upcycle! You really have a great eye. So many ideas to try. I collage with anything. Scrapbook paper, labels, stickers, magazine clippings. Whatever gets the creative flow going. Thank so much for sharing! 👍

      Thank you! Magazines are always such a great source of inspiration, and I also collected a lot of mags and pamphlets on my road trip for future use. 😄 Old books are very hard to cut up; I look for ones which are falling apart anyway, or have been thrown out on someone's hard rubbish, so I feel less guilty for cutting them up, lol!

    This is beautiful! Love it! It would be awesome if you could show us a few tutorials on how to make a few of these things. I'd love a full one but that would be so time-consuming for you and probably take the joy out of the creation on the junk journal. This might sound silly or dumb but how or what do you use to glue your pages together, because they're so smooth and have no wrinkles? It would be awesome to see you make a piece of art that corresponds to a specific paper or theme in the journal. Have a great day!

      @BeckyTregear  4 дня назад

      @@danielleb.7055 Thank you for the suggestion! I mainly use Art Glitter Glue, with a fine applicator so I don't put too much on, and it usually doesn't cause paper to wrinkle. Glue stick is best for very thin paper!
