About Married with Children:
The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharine-sweet TV families popular since the days of Father Knows Best. With offbeat humor and unflinching honesty, Married... paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all. Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). Married for 16 semi-blissful years, Peggy and Al have found that the secret to a happy marriage is to accept one another's idiosyncrasies.

Little did they know that this would b the start of the greatest comedy of all time!
ONE...of the greatest. This show lost it's edge around season 7
@@ProfessorKenneth Actually for me, it was after season 10.
At the beginning it only supposed to have 6 episode, and it was still debatable whether all 6 would air.
Then the 6 got extended to 13 episodes for the season.
Then Season 2. was green lit.
And then... ...
Greatest , without doubt.
Even for constipated , whining losers without life
@@ProfessorKenneth There were a lot of really good episodes in Season 10
Man, Al’s Chicago accent was so strong back then. Wish he kept it throughout the series.
My first stepfather was from Chicago, and we used to watch this show together - he pointed out the same thing.
Ed O'Neill's originally from Ohio. Is there much difference between Ohioan accent and Chicagoan accent?
I am a New Yorker, ivan tell who has a New York accent. But the Chicago accent ? Forget about it! I cannot tell.
In LAT dub they changed his voice too. Dub actor changed from a "normal" to a "cartoonish" voice. Lat dubber also put his voice in Homer Simpson at same time.
@@KueztionX he became more heavy around season 7
Marcie’s speech about interest rates is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on tv. She was a great character and perfectly acted.
The one where she needed to "get her taxes done", and gets a little too excited about it? That was great!
I also like tge show Threes Company
@@kevinkottom1526 It didn't take much to get her excited like in the episode Banking On Marcy.

Peg:Do you have PMS?
Marcy:No.
Peg:GET IT!
I love when Peg laughs when Al says,"you're gonna neuter him too".
The both of em looked like they actually were out of character and thought it was the funniest thing 😂 small moments like that are what made that show great
My marriage wouldn't have survived 30 plus years without watching this show and laughing. Cheers
Stop lieing 🤥 DWEEB 🥸
Sounds like you should have never gotten married
@@Resist_Oppressionmaybe but she said her marriage survived! She just needed some extra spices in it,like a good tv-show!
The best thing about this is the audience reaction. It's well before the "howling audience" era. They've never seen anything like this. Their reactions are genuine.
Audience? It's just recorded laughter 🤦🏼♂️
@@mistersimple1986 Married with Children is well know for having a live studio audience. It got so bad in the later seasons that the actors often had to pause whenever they first appeared in an episode because the cheering took sometimes nearly a full minute.
"If I wanted you to know what I was thinking, I'd be talking" best line ever!
Savage 😂🤣
The truth
That always makes me lol no matter how many times I see it. Thank god this show was on when it was. The world is way to uptight now.
So true
Marcy: Where are they?
Al: ehh I dunno
🤣
God i love this show. I miss the old days of being in school and watching this stuff in the evening. On a TV boys and girls.
Now that's how you make a Banger pilot episode😂🔥
When this first aired i just turned 23 now im pushing 57 i laugh harder now because i get it loved it then but love it more now, the first season was the best.
I feel you. When this first aired I was 42 and now I'm 78
The golden age of television.
I'm not just talking about season 1. I'm talking about seasons 1-5.
All seasons are great
Woman says, what are u thinking? Al says if I wanted u to know I’d be talkin!! I mean fuck off, one of the greatest lines ever!!
The ep that started it all. Married... With Children would go a long way in it's 10 year, 11 season run!
Agreed 🤗
And sadly the show was till doing pretty well ratings wise, and the cast apparently was expecting to get a 12th season. But then fox pulled a fox and supposedly didn't even give them and advance notice the show would not be renewed.
@@thepayne7862 I believe that is when Fox began to go liberal. Look at it now.
@@thepayne7862 it was a unbalanced atmosphere behind the scenes, and ratings was winding down after Steve left. It became a classic comedy up until 1990 and after that year of 1990 MWC become a over the top product.

Oh yes we are in the comfort of our own homes. In public we have to pretend we are in tune with wokery.
@@beachlife2968I don’t!
you didn't get the point did you?
The part where Steve drinks the coffee has got to be real. That look he has, looks like it was totally real.
So prophetic, when Al answers, "I don't know" when Marcy asks where the kids are: Marcy, being the prototypical "hover parent" or "helicopter mom" - EVEN BEFORE the character had kids.
Marcy was the original Karen.
Eh, I think Marcy just wanted to meet the kids
In the first season the living room actually had plants and looked maintained. That disappeared quickly.
Peg actually did housework or made the effort to look like she did in the early seasons. Probably not past season 2 though.
@@blppt every housewife ever?
Yes I remember when Peggy tried to force everyone to eat healthy and made kale salad.
Yeah, the contents of the refrigerator dwindled to dead rats and empty milk boxes pretty quickly as well. : D

He was Al Bundy from Season 1 Episode 1. Born to play that part.
Don't get me wrong I love the entire run of married with children, but personally I liked the first 2 to 3 seasons the best.
Al and Peg admitted they loved each other on occasion, they felt more like a real married couple, that had problems every now and then. Kelly wasn't an outright moron, she had some intelligence and she had lots of street smarts. Bud had problem with girls but he wasn't an outright sleaze or perv.
In the first couple of seasons they felt like a more authentic family.
That being said I still the love the insanity they got up to in later seasons.
Same I liked when they seemed relatable and felt more realistic
@@mohammedashian8094 Same here, same thing happened to Family Guy. The first four seasons they felt more like a real family, they weren't always dumping on meg and they definitely weren't dumping on each other nearly as much.
@Dante Carroll I liked all the seasons , I understand that they have to change things up.
@Dante Carroll I didn’t like the first season at all and I felt they were a better couple as it went on.
@Dante Carroll very good point I should rewatch the series in reverse starting with the last episode. It will make the show about a dysfunctional family that becomes more functional over time lol.
Al and Peg: The real, honest couple
Steve and Marcy: The fake, spineless couple
Steve and Marcy would have voted for Biden
@@Brucemcleod2345 Yeah....
Peggy’s laugh 😂 😂😂
I burst out laughing when al said you going to neuter them too.

dude that “if i wanted you to know i’d be talking” delivery makes me cry laughing omg😭 2:20
Those were the good old days. Life was simpler for the Bundy family. Everything sucked back then, too. It's just that it wasn't so complicated.
One of my favorite shows.
Favorite sitcom of all time
Mine too!
This scene is essential. One can see that Peggy envys Marcy because her husband is more supportive and respectful. On the other hand, Marcy finds the wild marriage between Peggy and Al very refreshing to watch. She thought: Cool people. I wanna be as cool as they are.
So women are actually attracted to beta males?
@@adamwalker2377 nowadays they are because they can control them
If you analyze it aside from the outstanding comedy, you can see how the men/women roles, which balance each other, are exaggerated. For instance, the over protection instinct in women when Marcy talks about the supposed violence in sports on one hand, and in the other, the men's will to take risks when Al says "I don't know".
This show was brilliant at all levels, and it mocked everything and both sexes equally.
Thank you hulu and netfix for streaming the complete seasons👍
Haha you can tell that was not Steve's first time watching sports with that routine recline on the couch
This show has cracked me up from when it started. Great memories 👌

I wish steve had never left.. he was slowly devolving into Al’s level. Would have been great to see it happen and marcy having to deal with it.
This show invented roasting and Im here for it
The Bundy’s are the pure definition of dysfunctional, but compared to Steve and Marcy, they’re less likely to end in disaster. Cuz in the end of the day, despite they’re issues. The family truly loves each other.
Probably the best sitcom to have ever come out of the USA - and The USA have made some wonderful sitcoms over the years
Eventually Al convinced Steve was living a fake existence which is why Steve eventually left Marcy.
Funny enough, he turned him more like Peggy in the end cause Steve eventually just didn't want to work and instead leech off Marcy, The WIFE.
@@sumthingwikked4257 You sure you’re not thinking of Jefferson????
@@Jakegothicsnake that was also Steve right before he quit his promising bank position & soon thereafter officially wrote Marcy a dear Jane letter fyi so yes it’s definitely Steve fyi
This is how al met the chicken lol!

To think, Marcy used to be against the idea of being overly competitive.
Al & peg Bundy = marriage GOALS!
It’s like their own version of the Simpsons episode where Homer hate Flanders!

Amazing how The Bundys corrupted Marcy.
Not really. They just bringed out her true nature.
They showed who she really is.
This was just a cover, and she already whipped Steve
I was just thinking of watching the entire first episode and last episode of Married With Children.

Touché with ur “ right of center” comment Amigo!
I loved her character. Al Bundy had an embarrassment of riches in this show. Luckily they had Ed O'Neill to make the most of it.
“With men, if you ask them for something you are never going to get it. But if you do some damage to their internal organs, you’ve got a shot! And if it doesn’t work, what have you lost?”
😆
I lived in Chicago most of my life and married a Chicago girl who never cooked a meal in all the 30 plus years we were together. She never cleaned the house and nagged me to the day I left. Boy did I identify with Al Bundy.
And we also had two kids. Boy and girl.
@@marksauck8481 Sue them for copyright infringe .

Marcy is who all Karens strive to become. She is the ultimate form of a Karen. Although a very rare occurrence as most Karens are often consumed by other larger Karens. It is observed here a Marcy is rather avian in appearance, such a fascinating creature.
Marcy’s frustrations regarding her husband(s) and her neighbors the Bundys seems relatively justified. Not sure if she thus can qualify as a ‘Karen’ . . .
Not a Karen, a SJW.
I might be a minority on this but I’ve always preferred Steve over Jefferson
Yes I think Steve and Al were a better double act.The early seasons were the best too.
@Ian Nisbet Totally agree with you there brother
I always liked Steve also.
But the writers were quick to keep one key element to both Steve AND Jefferson: They both LOVED it when Al tore into Marcy.
(It also helped that Ed O'Neill and Amanda Bearse genuinely DID NOT LIKE each other in real life.)
Peggy’s hair was real by that time.
She was wearing a wig by season 6
Before the nose job and enlargement surgery.
“Don’t start having him good time… alone.’That is why women can’t stand their men having hobbies and enjoying their lives without them. Red Pill like nothing else!
Steve and Marcy would vote for Biden.

What are you thinking? Ya know, if I wanted you to know I’d be talking…😂.
Marcy amd Steve’s kid sounds like a modern day liberal

The Bundys definitely got this marriage thing figured out.
And I'm thinking, the day the Rhoades met the Bundys, it's the beginning of the end of their marriage.
