- Sky News host Steve Price has backed Peter Dutton’s “sensible and measured call” to halt any more temporary visas being issued to Palestinians from Gaza.
This follows Independent MP Zali Steggall blasting Opposition Leader Peter Dutton - calling him a ‘racist’ on the floor of parliament in a fiery debate over people arriving from Gaza.
“Don't import trouble, don't import ethnic tensions, don't import people who want to live off the Government,” Mr Price said.
“Make Australia a safer, richer, better place to live - it's not rocket science and it's not racist.”

In Zali's world, everything is racist from white bread to black coffee, not sure where fairy bread rates in her philosophy. It's not racist to want to keep Australia safe from any potential terrorist threat. It's not racist to want to put Australians first. We have a multifaceted crisis - affordable housing, interest on mortgages, cost of fuel, electricity, groceries. Whether we will still have our jobs in the foreseeable future with 49% of small businesses looking at failure. Immigration will impact on those already burdened resources, making the economic crisis worse. The real issue with the refugees from Gaza, however. is that no one can categorically guarantee that these people aren't Hamas sympathiser/supporters. it makes sense that places like Egypt and Jordan refuse to accept them, they are wary of any threat to their own national security. Zali needs to apologise to Mr Dutton for her accusations.
My guess is even the moderate Muslims here wouldn’t want them in their communities,.. go on Zali go for a walk in Western Sydney and ask them and they’ll tell you Hamas isn’t their friend
