- Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie has clashed with Independent MP Zali Steggall over whether Australia should be granting visas to Palestinians from Gaza.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton demanded an outright ban on granting visas to Palestinians from Gaza this week.
Ms Steggall on Thursday accused Opposition Leader Peter Dutton of “being racist” after he demanded an outright ban on granting visas to Palestinians from Gaza.
Mr Dutton later responded to the racism accusations on 2GB and denounced the remarks as representative of her “extreme views”.
“It is not inflammatory to call out behaviour that is divisive. Peter Dutton is dangerous. The Coalition is dangerous with this,” Ms Steggall told Sky News Australia.
Ms McKenzie warned that without putting people through appropriate checks and balances, Australia runs the risk of importing terrorist sympathisers.
“I think what Zali has just demonstrated in this tirade on this program is how close the teals are to the Greens because they absolutely have the same policies, the same approach, and they’re prepared to risk Australian safety, above all else,” the Nationals Senator said.
Zali is the same type of politician who pushed for the UK to include mass middle east migration and called centrist British MP's racist for disagreeing.

The surrounding nations have already taken thousands of Palestinian refugees over the decades as the Israelis have been evicting them from their homes for 70 years. Except for the Aboriginals, we are all from another country. All of us. The Palestinians are beautiful, creative, vivacious, passionate, intelligent and loyal people. They love family and they love their land... but tragically they can't remain there as it has been completely destroyed by the neighbours. Of course we expect there to be high levels of care taken around out security. It goes without saying. So Peter Dutton accusing all Palestinians of being a terrorist threat is fear mongering and inappropriate. Yes, of course some applicants will be refused entry to Australia. Why? Because ASIO and other Government organisations run high level security checks to ensure that only the safe people can enter. And Dutton knows that already. Checks on who enters Australia will continue, whoever you are, Palestinians or from other nations.
