"Im going to Lazer some natives" most British thing he has ever said lol love the videos don't stop being you
I knew I wasn’t the only one thinking it
here is a pro tip. if you put the seed on an untapped iron vein the tree will produce more iron.
the seed will also send out roots so just in the same area will work.
Another pro tip, the more resources the roots touch, the more it produces
It can also do multiple resources if the roots touch them
Another pro tip: get the dome resistance
Another Another pro tip: idk
Another another another pro tip: with all these resources upgrade things (I mean what else would you use it for)
Matt: *gets option of the condenser* Nope.
Matt about 5 seconds later: I have no water! What do I do?
Umm, is...isn't that an architect move?
RCE, that seed grows best when planted on deposits of ressources, the more there are, the more the iron tree grows in ressources.
Sup
Also tree keeps growing. Not sure if there is a limit
From what I've seen it has a maximum of 3 branches, so 3 resource deposits is all you need
After an engineer game, Matt turns back into an architect. If he wasn't always late he wouldn't have wasted all those cobalt.
Amen
For an engineer, he plays like an architect.
Real Civil Architect?
When you have the repellent, it turns the enemy timer into the strongest shape.
OMG YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I was wondering how he could pass on commenting on it >.
these jokes have gotten so overdone that even Matt saying hard in any context makes me go "haha, dick". It's becoming a problem and I need help
Ukraine should stop using repellent and allow Russia in.
@@Kieron762 Or a nuke should be used instead of repellent
The now classic RCE move of “I don’t want to take more damage” then proceeds to not upgrade the weapons but apply more hitpoints for the enemies to bash down :)
*never upgrades weapons
*panics because he takes so much damage each round
> weapon upgrades
> dome resistance
He upgraded his laser at least 3 times. 2 strength and 1 speed
@@thomasphillips885 that and nothing is pretty much the same by the end
Yeah
the fact every time you thow all your cobalt into repair and never in stronger dome is incredible, UPGRADE THAT DOME RCE
So serious there was no time for the "R"!!
UPGRADE>BANDAID
A very architect performance this round. You need to upgrade the laser basically every third round to match the enemies (I find that Strength > Speed > Strength > Speed works best).
Also, the extra iron gimmick is a trap, it doesn't actually provide you with any bonuses since iron costs are doubled anyway. All it does is force you to make more trips/slow you down.
Yeah it’s definitely hard mode to tempt the greedy.
Only benefit is with the converter and its constant iron price
Literally all Double Iron is good for is those achievements which require you to do stuff like have a ton of iron sitting in the lift, and carry a large bundle.
Content is king!! 👑
The thing with the 2x iron mode is actually making the game harder. Just simply and because of the carrying of it and thus it makes a domino effect on every other thing you want to buy, just because every upgrade cost x 2.
Came here to say exactly this 🤣🤣🤣
well now it comes down to making it harder or easier game mode. i was confused at first too. after reading your comment i think it is meant to make different/harder game mode rather than interesting/easier gamemode
Yeah, thought the same thing. Content is king! 👑
you are supposed to plant the seed in a deposit of some kind. if you can find iron and another resouce closeby it can even produce 2 types and also clear the space above for the tree to grow into
I've never watched a RUclips content creator as consistently as I've watched RCE. Can't go a single day without watching a video and liking it. Been subscribed for so long now, I hope I can learn to be as consistent with my work
Thanks Kieran, appreciate the kind words!
1:13 The Strongest shape returns
Max out Hardening with your cobalt before you use it all up doing repairs!
“I can’t even count that high!”
…
“It’s eight!!”
😂😂😂
RCE found the motherload of one ore, but his downfall was a lack of the other. How Poetic.
RCE made me buy this game and play it, so fun... btw a suggestion, the resource converter is absolutely broken! ... you can convert 1 water to 4 iron, and we barely use water much
I can't wait until this game releases on Switch, it's the perfect game to play on the go.
rce, you have to plant the tree on a ore (water, iron, colbalt) and it will make that ore
Your actually doing Pillar mining. That's what our maps look like in the coal mines.
''When is a gift not a gift''?. When you have to take twice as long to mine and it costs you twice the resources to build.
"I'm not going to be late! I'm going to laser some natives instead!" That may be the most British statement I've heard you make :D.
Apparently, there was an update to the game and fish-bone/strip mining is no longer the efficient method. The new idea is that you follow the easier material to drill into to find the ore now and avoid anything that's too strong to drill into.
I believe the pop sound effect from the mini guys is actually an Easter egg to stardew valleys crop harvesting sound
If there’s double the iron and upgrades cost twice as much, wouldn’t that actually be kind of like a handicap? Because you can only carry so much and the elevator can only lift so fast.
Weird, i wonder why Matt didnt notice how proximity meter + repelent = strongest shape.. 😂
I'm surprised Matt's never commented about how strong the proximity meter looks
Getting hardening instead of saving cobalt would have helped a lot with how late he always is
Matt, you should use three tiles wide strips when stripmining after the first layer. After that point iron will always spawn in at least a 2x2 formation, so you won't miss any. You could miss single tiles of the other resources though.
Edit: This strategy is advisable whenever you are primarily in need of iron
@@dahn57 Usually it's primarily the iron you're after for getting upgrades, and I find enough of the other resources anyway most of the time. But you're right, sometimes I'm in dire need of cobalt or water. At that point I randomly dig through my 3 tile wide stripes to get every bit.
That usually works really well for me
5:14, Speeking of onbu, I accidently created a sunglasses wearing version of him in timberborn, the spiral map... which turned out to be quick to get easy even on the hardest setting, after double up the depth of my dam tanks I basically never had a dryout on the farming area, even my water supplies remained above 3-4 hundred after a 25+ day long drought, even the 2nd district was more just an outpost of 2 beavers so they were fed on the carrots from the main district, had planned on getting them to harvest berries but never had planks spare to give them, too busy constructing other stuff.
Basically everything from the trees (both sides of the river) was treated as non-construction zone (aside from a couple of farm houses and roads to them), the trees were replaced with maple trees eventually & the other side of the river was completely covered in carrots upto where the green remained beyond the dam (which was right by where the trees started), I only ventured to the spring area to unblock the river pass, which then went on to become a dedicated drinking water source, the lake upstream I accidentally turned into part of my farming water when I put in levies to double the depth for long droughts, yet to see my farmland dry out now.
As for the berries after they died from a longer drought I just used the area for plank factories and housing, the district center I moved from the word go to the river bank and now has large storage next to it, used to have something else but I forget what it is now, most of my labs are near the 2nd district as I use the area full of trees across the river bank down there for them, had to be 1 block higher since I was already starting to double the depth of the tank there too.
It is a rare moment when Matt is talking about "the most efficient design" and it is not a knob.
I'd just like to apologize for all the times I yelled at my screen for you to go back to the surface. I bought this game after seeing you play it, and I've probably lost three domes from being late to waves. Love the content!
Just a friendly reminder that improving movement speed actually improves both drilling and carrying indirectly.
Carrying improves carrying by 50% so you can carry 50% more at the same speed but speed improvement makes your movement 50% faster which means that an upgrade to carrying and upgrade to movement has the same net effect on carrying capacity relative to movement speed while carrying.
Drilling is improved by movement because a) you get to the drilling location faster so you have more time to spend drilling and b) movement speed actually governs the interval between each drill action. So while the drill upgrade doubles the power of your drill, speed upgrade increases how fast you can drill by 50%. Add to that the time saved getting to the drill location, and often a speed upgrade will get you the same effective drill output as the drill upgrade. On top of it improving effective carrying capacity as well.
Therefore, always go movement speed upgrade first. Always always always.
I think the bar underneath the time till the next wave is the repellent bar to tell how much time you have left on the repellent or when it is on cooldown, how much time until it is ready to use (when it is ready, I think the bar will be full.)
2:27 That was a pretty strong shape on the screen when you were talking about time being tight. 😀
2:26 that is the strongest shape
The strongest instrument panel I've ever seen.
If you had just used the cobalt to upgrade your dome hardiness, you would`ve saved yourself from a lot of damage.
it kills me how he never hardens his dome
18:29 here is a pro tip waste every thing you have to heal your self like repair dome or increase dome health because time is frozen while in the screen
Yesssss this series is the best
Love to see a run of that where you get the lift. :)
Everyone always ignored the dome hardness upgrade. If you don't take the damage, you don't need to repair. An ounce of prevention and all that. It's not even very spendy.
How did matt didnt notice that the proximaty meter is the strongest shape😂
Hearing a british man say, "laser some natives" in that cheerful intonation Is way funnier than it should be.
*Tonight, on the RCE channel:*
Matt struggles with resource management and character upgrading, Drillbert has been neglected hydration, one more Dome Keeper player doesn't realize how the ore seed works, and why the water generator is an underrated upgrade
You have to plant the tree on an ore block, pick whatever you need most. It takes a few rounds for the tree to start bearing fruit but it’s a great way to make a reliable source of iron or cobalt.
the "iron seed" is actually a general resource seed.
If you plant it in regular rock, it will generate 1 iron every once in a while. If you plant it on ores (within 4-5 blocks distance to ore), the roots will find the ore and the tree will generate more ores.
Proper location can yield you 3 ores instead of one. I usually go for 1 cobalt ore in the vicinity, so I can get 2x Iron and 1x cobalt.
RCE you never fail to entertain us. Keep up the good work man
"The Architect of the pond world" Matt you're a silly man, I love you so much
the proximity meter looks like a very strong shape
Hey RCE, the repelent is best for the long cycles mode becouse its cycle based and not time based.
A tip regarding strip mining, the most efficient for iron is leaving 3 block-rows inbetween, since iron always spans multiple veins in a 2x2 area. You may miss soje water or cobalt that way though
1:14 is that the strongest shape?
03:08
BRANCH mining
not STRIP mining. Strip mining is not referring to 'strips' of mines, but 'stripping' the earth bare.
Surely if you get twice and many iron, but all cost twice as many then 2xiron is harder as u have to carry more back
I'm really enjoying this series!
Just a cheacky info. Dropping the tree on a resource makes it's fruit being partly that resource. So dropping it on cobolt makes it's fruit cobolt. And the more ground it has to spread it's roots, the faster it produces
Pro Tip. To travel faster going up once you reach the middle, I recommend destroying the corner for easier turn. The idea is exploring the map and creating routes without spending a lot of time cleaning unnecessary rocks that doesn’t provide resources.
Cobalt is found closer to the edges of the map, you have to plant the tree on a resource for it to grow more resources (the roots spread out a few blocks so it can grow multiple resources. The more resources it’s planted on the more it can grow at once), and it’s more efficient to have 3 blocks in between each strip mining layer since iron usually spawns in clumps.
If you double the iron but then double the upgrades… isn’t that still a 1:1 ratio? Sounds like an architect added that feature
And engineers are supposed to be good at maths... And working with iron.
That hostile proximity meter kinda looks like the strongest shape!
RCE you should make the dome harder, it will save iron in the long run.
the good thing about keeping domes is they don't sting you.. but the honey tastes a bit like sharp sand & blood
If tadpoles are the architect of the pond world, does that mean they'll eventually grow up and become engineers?
Because frogs are cool.
As long as you continue to be late to every wave, I will continue to watch your Dome Keeper content. Lol.
Love the dome keeper vids!
"i'm just going to laser some natives instead" you're making ya ancestors proud my lad!
*RCE & Dome Keeper = WooHoo!!!*
love the art style of this game!!
"Ahh... It was going so well!"
If both the amount you get and amount you spend both go up at the same rate, its almost like nothing happened😅
No actually the run got harder cause now you have to transport the extra iron
You have to spend twice the effort to retrieve the resources, so the difficulty should be harder.
@@Mr.Pixie. okay but why that way, why not make the blocks just twice as heavy or something, the game makes it seem like its trying to trick you and make you think itll make the game easier
@@TheEnthraller thats why its *almost* like nothing happened
@@NexonixGamingNetwork how does nothing hppen? It takes more time to transport all that new iron.
How can you NEVER upgrade the laser?!! Truly an architect intelect level
Didn't he upgrade its power twice and speed once?
Matt, fully upgraded elevator is actually goated🗿
Pretty sure double iron is all downside. All it does is effectively cut your carry capacity in half.
Try the following combo:
Long Cycles
Huge Map
Repellant
Condenser
Resource Converter
Lift
Stun Laser
Cobalt Tree
Access to infinite resources, and an overcharged Wither ability means you can buy every upgrade and last indefinitely.
matt you have to place the tree seed on iron ore or any ore when its still in the ground
Inflation even made it to space.
Drillbert is charming. Nice video!
I can't believe Matt would say there's something more efficient than a knob shape
The double iron game mode just makes it harder as you need to take twice as much iron up which takes twice as long for the same stuff
“I can’t even count that high, that’s 8.”
Drillbert is your best friend in this game. Upgrade him and give him treats.
Convinced me to get this game.. good work. Devs I will see you soon.
That is branch mining, not strip mining.
Strip mining is when you take down the entire mountain.
You need to look at the proxy meter more often and head back sooner.
As for seed/tree when planted it produces resources based on the tile it on and 2 adjacent tiles.
use excess cobalt to upgrade your domes plating. its like an inverse investment. you put in cobalt to spend less later
Seems like a fun concept at first, but the double cost is too difficult to work with coz you need to do multiple resource deposits
"I think we can take this much fairly easily- I'm going to have to make this hole a little wider"
I believe that’s called…inflation?
Strongest shape monster meter.... C'mon Matt! You're loosing your touch! haha
Repelant and next wave bar have the most efficient shape.
"I can't even count that high"
...this guy was an engineer, right ?...
isn't it pointless? You have double iron, but the prices are also doubled, so, it's the same, basically?
Hi
Drffff
"Engineer Admits He Can't Count to Eight!"
Nice vid bro
I have a message from drillbert's union representative. He says, "Hey man, i didnt start on the wrong level, i just started on the one you told me toooooo!"
I prefer the shield, because it's basically like health that regenerates.
Day 67:Dear Matt,
I have a very good video idea
Gather all your editors and make them all have a fight on like a PvP game (e.g. Minecraft,Rust,Ect,ect...) And see who is the best editor and is worthy of the rank of a classified engineering. From me.
Okay, it's tomorrow's video!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming you better not or I will call you a pesky architect.
