I often wonder if the Mass in the vernacular was closer to this , which is a more faithful
translation than the the mass of Paul VI would traditionalist been more accepting.

Probably. The Ordinariate Use is much closer in its ethos and content to the classical Roman Rite. It even retains the old orations.
