The hardest part of the test is the Hazard Perception. In the videos there could be just a narrow window where you can score points. I would say watch as many videos as you can, they will probably not be in the test as you see them on RUclips but there may be some with slight changes, different vehicles or pedestrians.
Hi Dorian, This is a very well thought-of video, which explain quite articulately and to the point, why the answer is so. Nicely assimilate- well done. I however have an observation on one point you made. You stated that a motorway was a dual carriageway and vice versa. Whilst the defining statement is accurate, i would like to offer my humble opinion that the reverse is untrue. I believe that a central reservation is the distinguishing feature of a dual carriageway. which is what makes boring types of road a dual carriageway. Motorways have hard shoulders, emergency phones, and one always leaves a motorway from an exit to the left in a style akin to using a roundabout. The dual carriageways with this style of exiting. The existence of dual carriageways without hard shoulder suggests that not all dual carriageways are motorways. Similarly, the are dual carriageways where an exit may be made by turning right. Furthermore, the last point suggests that different rules governing right two lanes on the right two lane on each type of road. I hope you find this of some help
That is a good observation, and I agree with you. I like to keep it simple and explain what is required to pass the theory. Can you imagine me trying to explain that to a pupil struggling to pass their theory?

Passed my theory test first time yesterday with scores of... 49/50 multiple choice questions 59/75 Hazard Perception videos. My personal advice to those who r studying for it is firstly do not study the book, instead keep practicing th questions repeatedly. Most of the answers is based on logic and common sense. Also ignore the saying say you r ready for it when you pass 3 consecutive tests ... this is simply not true! Ideally you need to pass minimum 40 - 50 mock tests to be genuinel ready. Trust me I know from my own experience and revision I did as I passed almost 100 mock tests before doing the real 1 yesterday. 1 final tip, don't pressurise yourself and do not panic. Make sure to take regular breaks and you fully know and understand the key concepts and ideas from all the main topics regarding driving. Good luck to all those preparing for it! You got this!
hii just a quick question :) how many times did you click on each hazard perception video? I’ve seen videos on yt where they only click once whereas the dvsa app tells you to click 5 times 😩 it’s so confusing cause the gov website literally says to not click in a pattern which is what the dvsa app wants me to do 🥲 literally have my test in 2 days and I’m stressing 💀
@@iwantoxym hi 👋🏽. Firstly my advise to you would be not to panic and have belief that you can do it. Secondly in regards to hazard perception you want to make sure you only click immediately once you see the hazard. Aim for 2 clicks maximum 3 to ensure you can achieve 4-5 marks on each hazard clip. Make sure you practice practice practice in order to help you gain confidence and perfect the potential hazards in the videos. You got this, good luck!
I Highly highly recommend you to watch this guys videos . He is the best by a country mile 👌 follows his golden nugget tips 😂, they are absolutely useful and helped me to pass my test today . 49/50 64/75 . Thanks buddy , you are amazing
I failed my theory test 6 times, and I always passed the hazard videos with higher scores, and failed on multiple choice questions on one or two marks !!!! I have booked my 7th test, on the 31 May and hopefully 🤞 I will pass ، I find your video is very helpful.
Failed my test twice despite watching videos and practicing for months. I dont know what i did wrong but i passed the hazard both times and now have Nothing but fear to go again

@@DRIVINGTHEORYUK Thank you! Honestly your “always choose the safest answer” helped so much. I watched this, some of your other videos and then binged a podcast on it, did a ton of practice tests and hazard perception on the programme my driving instructor uses.

Dear Sir I wish to acknowledge your comprehensive explaination when we are going to do the driving test I started driving in the Caribbean in 1978 and I took the theory test two years ago and failed I have been watching videos and a collection of aids to help me understand the principles of theory, before I book another test. Do you have any suggestions that I can follow to pass this examination. Kind regards Francis
Hi Primus,I'm not sure if you are talking about the theory or driving test. Suppose it is the theory, not much more than the video. Take your time to read the questions and answers carefully as you have 57 minutes; use them if necessary. Believe in yourself; this will stop you from second-guessing and going with your gut instinct. Remember your answers have to lead to a Safe, controlled or common sense answer, and they are not trying to trick you. Good luck.
another benefit of having the voice-over on the questions is it slows you down to a better pace. it's too easy to rush through it otherwise and make a poor choice of answer.
Just found your channel, I wanted to look for alternative ways to study for theory as I struggle with focusing to learn from reading, and I don't get much peace and quiet from partner and kids to attempt to focus. Do you have any tips or advice to be able to study when i have focus issues and I learn better from practical's other than being shown or read?
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your struggle with focusing and studying. I totally understand how challenging it can be to find the right study methods that work for you. To be honest, you will have to read as the theory test is a written test effectively. Do the reading by studying the apps. You can take it in small chunks. Set the app up to do 10 questions at a time and take it slow and steady. You can use headphones and have the questions read to you; this will block out any noise. I go live every Monday at 4:30 pm, where you can ask questions and join in by doing the twenty-question mock test. I hope this helps good luck.
I think that the quality of the videos have to be clearer as it’s extremely unfair, there is absolutely no way that I personally would be able to see those two colours on the cane for instance
Hi Anita, I run a driving school that does intensive courses; the theory is included, and the course is fully booked for the near future. What are you struggling with?
@@DRIVINGTHEORYUK Good morning sir Dorian Is to do with the hazard perception I think mainly around accurate timing before clicking and actually knowing what the hazard are on the road. Thanks again for your help.
@@bababauchibarri6857 You are looking for anything that will slow you down or change direction, as the click represents you checking your mirrors. Here's a video I did breaking it down in detail ruclips.net/video/Sv2_eW3dUgs/видео.html I hope this helps
How to pass the theory test when practising on app and books I've score 45-49 questions right out of 50, and in the theory centre I can't reach 43, I get 40-42 on 2 occasions. Far enough English it is not my first language but I've done 2 degrees and I can not understand why this is happening?
Sometimes this happens; you study, and your passing, the big day arrives, and you fail. This is a test situation nerves and anxiety puts doubts in your mind, especially if you have failed before. You need to trust your gut instincts when you are in there and don't second guess yourself or change your answers. Start by looking at the sheet they gave you, as this has the categories you got wrong and brush up on those. Keep practising. You'll get there.
If you aren't sure what the answer is, you can flag the question and move on. Once you finish the test, you can go back to the flagged ones and change your answer if necessary.
I need some advice if you can help me just came across you on RUclips I’ve studied the theory test for 4-5 months since may anyways I’ve done 6 test so far and all ways scored 42 out of 50 consistently and hazard perception isn’t a issue for me . Hi Lee, don't worry about school. Studying will be on your terms as fast or slow as you want. Start with an app the paid version then go from there. Check the description below I have a few listed in the link.
They don't ask about the stopping distances anymore in number form, just how much longer it takes in the weather. Wet is double, and ice and snow are up to ten times longer. Hopefully, I'll do a video on this shortly.
Hi Dorian I am struggling with hazard perception part as I am scoring good in practice at home and I use to get confused in real test and video blows me out can you please suggest me give me a advice on that thanks .
Hello buddy am taking all this in I have sat my theory 4 times and only fails by 2-4 marks and I don’t know what am doing wrong plz help I do have reading problems and I have been using headphones
Hi , Thanks for all the tips really enjoyed watching this video. I just took my test on the official DVSA app i was scoring 47-48 marks for 23 mock exams in a row without fail. My mistake was I was memorising the wording only for the questions and answers on the app which led to me failing my actual test as I scored 40-50 in multiple choice and 54/75 in hazard perception. I was so sure I would pass with a guarantee and looking now I realise that I need to understand what I am reading from the modules and understand how to anticipate the correct answer if the question or answer is worded differently. Any tips to what I can do for this to ensure a pass for my second test?
Sorry to hear that you failed. You just identified what you need to do to pass next time. Memorising the answers is not good, especially as there sample questions on the app. Check the categories where you got questions wrong and go from there. You no what the problem is just solve it. Let me know how you get on in the next one. Good luck 🤞🏾

Thanks! Will do!
Hi Dorian,
This is a very well thought-of video, which explain quite articulately and to the point, why the answer is so.
I love your videos Dorian well explained will keep practicing thank you so much ..

What are you struggling on? Don’t be discouraged, most likely you just haven’t been given a good revision resource

Watched this before my test and I passed!! Thank you
Congratulations on passing. I love it when you guys pass; it makes it all worth it
Passed my theory test first time yesterday with scores of...
49/50 multiple choice questions
59/75 Hazard Perception videos.
@@shamizil omg thank youuu 🥺 that makes so much more sense now 😊

I failed my theory test 6 times, and I always passed the hazard videos with higher scores, and failed on multiple choice questions on one or two marks !!!!
I have booked my 7th test, on the 31 May and hopefully 🤞 I will pass ، I find your video is very helpful.
Did u pass. ?
Failed my test twice despite watching videos and practicing for months. I dont know what i did wrong but i passed the hazard both times and now have Nothing but fear to go again
Very Good advice 🙏🏾

@@DRIVINGTHEORYUK Thank you! Honestly your “always choose the safest answer” helped so much. I watched this, some of your other videos and then binged a podcast on it, did a ton of practice tests and hazard perception on the programme my driving instructor uses.
Going in for my test been passing significantly whilst practising but just barely passing whilst I’m praising this morning hopefully I pass. Will come back when I’m done! 😅
Best of luck
@@DRIVINGTHEORYUK I passed 48/50 on multiple choice and 62/75 on hazard perception as I got 0 on a clip. But I’m so happy! I can finally start my intensive course 🥳
Very good advice cheers
Your welcome
Dear Sir
I wish to acknowledge your comprehensive explaination when we are going to do the driving test
I started driving in the Caribbean in 1978 and I took the theory test two years ago and failed
I have been watching videos and a collection of aids to help me understand the principles of theory, before I book another test.
Do you have any suggestions that I can follow to pass this examination.
Kind regards
Francis
Hi Primus,I'm not sure if you are talking about the theory or driving test.
Suppose it is the theory, not much more than the video. Take your time to read the questions and answers carefully as you have 57 minutes; use them if necessary.
Believe in yourself; this will stop you from second-guessing and going with your gut instinct. Remember your answers have to lead to a Safe, controlled or common sense answer, and they are not trying to trick you.
Good luck.
Just want to say a massive thank you i past my theory 1st time thank to your videos
Thank you for this video l have learned a lot 😊
Thank you I have my theory test with 2 weeks hopefully I pass first time studying like mad but thank you for the advice
How did you get on?
another benefit of having the voice-over on the questions is it slows you down to a better pace. it's too easy to rush through it otherwise and make a poor choice of answer.
Great point.
I don't think a dual carriageway is a motorway, I'd say a motorway is a dual carriageway, or motorways are a subset of dual carriageways.
Don't overthink it. keep it simple, the theory test does. If it works for you though then run with it. Everybody studies differently.
I agree, that's why I recommend you watch the video's more than once. 😉
Can’t replay real life! Count it pretty easy.
Please do more legend!🤝🥺
Thank you,I passed theory test 🙏😍
Congratulations on passing your theory test! Well done!
I’m gutted I failed my Theory Test today on Hazard perception

Hi Anita, I run a driving school that does intensive courses; the theory is included, and the course is fully booked for the near future. What are you struggling with?
Please how can you help me with my hazard perception? I really need your help. I live in Middlesbrough. And thanks for all you do.

@@DRIVINGTHEORYUK
Good morning sir Dorian
Is to do with the hazard perception I think mainly around accurate timing before clicking and actually knowing what the hazard are on the road. Thanks again for your help.
@@bababauchibarri6857 You are looking for anything that will slow you down or change direction, as the click represents you checking your mirrors.

How did you get on?
Hello Dorian, how can I join the four days course? Thanks
Thanks for your video. What is the best app for Andriod for the theory test that you will recommend
All the apps are available for Android. I use Driving Test Success.
Your videos help me and I hope it will pass ....✌️
Fingers crossed for you.
Cheers mate 👍
I hoped it helped.
Plz tell me what is the rear colur for grease blue .red.green.yellow

hi can plzz tell bit more about the flag how it work? is like the question you are not sure you can flag then you can do again in the end?
If you aren't sure what the answer is, you can flag the question and move on. Once you finish the test, you can go back to the flagged ones and change your answer if necessary.
Very useful
I need some advice if you can help me just came across you on RUclips I’ve studied the theory test for 4-5 months since may anyways I’ve done 6 test so far and all ways scored 42 out of 50 consistently and hazard perception isn’t a issue for me . I am high functioning autistic but I don’t let that get in the way of me achieving what I want any advice please thanks
Is there anywhere you can actually go to for theory training in a classroom or anything ?
Hello,
The app link doesn’t work for me unfortunately. Is it just me?
I’m just starting my driving lessons and I’m enjoying it but I’m wanting to start studying for my theory but I’m not sure how to start I wasn’t good in school
Hi Lee, don't worry about school. Studying will be on your terms as fast or slow as you want. Start with an app the paid version then go from there. Check the description below I have a few listed in the link.
Any tips for getting to know various stopping distances in different weather conditions? It seems to be a common mistake of mine

Glad it helped
Thank you :)
You are welcome
Doing mine in 5mins lets see how it goes booked two weeks ago 😅
Edit : I passed 48/50 and 55/75
I don't know how can I pass my theory test I tried like 4 times still not passing I need help
Start with checking your paper work. This will give you an insight into your weaknesses then go from there.
Hi ,
Thanks for all the tips really enjoyed watching this video.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
