A near save Fomorttiis would help against galeforce strats and the new beast seal allows him to run hardy fighter. He may still have problems tanking but at least he can shut down galeforce shenanigans occasionally
That's definitely true! The issue is just that he doesn't do anything against Galeforce if he dies in the first combat. Beast and Hardy both do a lot if he can wait for turn 2 onwards, but on turn 1 he has a pretty rough time...
Broooo, this game gets more and more power-crept everytime I come back. I dropped the game after a year of playing (i began around the time when Feh Pass was new), and everytime it gets more and more crazy. The characters that work in a Duo, the stats on new characters. Everything, really. 😭
Honestly, the powercreep isn't always this bad... we've had an awful few months of it around Ike's release, but prior to that the (aether raids at least, SD is a different beast) meta was surprisingly stable for quite a long time! Just look at how many years I used Harmonic Catria for, a Book 5 unit - and my Chaos team still uses Gatekeeper, who's also from Book 5
Thanks for sharing! I'll toss out the idea of a Wooden Tackle near save unit (axe, atk/def shred and post-combat healing to stack with BoL4 healing); if we can't KO Duo Sharena, I say we try & outlast her action economy instead.
Wooden Tackle definitely looks like a good option to me! My other ideas were the new conch (full tempo and +11 turn 1) or the classic Arcane option, probably on Vigarde because he's a Grail unit (easy +10) and has the best defensive stat spread for it. We'll see what works, though!
respect the gullveig. i feel like she fell off a cliff prretty quickly after her release but you still make her work as for near saves Brave Edelgard has been my lord and savior against the winter edel/bride sharena army. Think I need to switch to deflect melee now though cause there are just so many attacks from sharena lol
She did, but mainly due to relying on her huge piercable DR to survive in a meta where DR piercing was starting to find a spot on tank kits, not just nukes. As it stands, though, the main tanks in the meta rely on their Specials to pierce DR - so with Scowl support, Gullveig is back in action!
Awesome season! I love watching your AR replays and how you explain your team comps. Even though I’ve been playing FEH since the beginning, it’s only been recently that I started understanding the mechanics better and taking modes like AR more seriously. Your videos have really helped me as a player, so thank you 😊 I’ve been doing a similar setup with baby Emmeryn, baby duo Robin, and Tina, and I just slap the heck out of most players that come across my map lol Awakening is my favorite game in the FE series and I’m sooo happy that Emmeryn got a broken alt (glad she’s slept on, too!). It’s nice to see you use her so often in such creative ways! Also, are you a Zelda fan? I noticed at 7:22 you played in the background a track from the newest Hyrule Warriors game and got very excited because that OST is amazing!

Me personally I have been using Brave Edelgard and Flame Emperor for both different seasons and no Winter Edelgard has been able to kill them unless they used a bolt trap/tower. They have been able to tank almost everything thrown at them. I haven't ran any calculations vs Sharena with either of them but a +10 Vigarde may help if you don't have any merges on the 2 Edel- I mean Brave Edelgard and Flame Emperor
Ok by doing a few calculations I've seen that if they have a few merges, +def, armored blaze/pavise, and they activate atk/def near save Sharena doesn't kill. Bonus survivability if they have atk/def untiy or close def 4 with Weaving Fighter. Using Hardy Fighter doesnt really help with survival but that's probably due to potent 3. Also Edelgard survives more often than Flame Emperor but Flame Emperor has way more HP and is f2p friendly. I haven't done any calcs using Vigarde but he probably survives better than Flame Emperor
Yeah, Vigarde at least has the best stats of the bunch - maxed out he has 62/54 HP and Def, whereas B!Edel has 60/54 and Flame Emperor has 65/49. He looks like the unit I'm probably leaning towards! Question now is just which inheritable to give him.
@@Penrost776 me personally I'd just let him have his default weapon. If you have thrima might as well give it to him. I dont have lucina so i have no idea what it does but its not downfall so it must be good. If i had the available fodder I'd give him armored blaze or bonfire, close def 4 if supported by freyr or atk/def unity if not, weaving fighter, atk/def save, and idk atk/def form or something
The other issue with Soren setups is that they don't work turn 1 - and most player-phase teams will try to snipe units turn 1 if they can to get value from Safety Fence...
