Long time ADJ employee here: The reason you'll see a lot of older ADJ lights now under the Eliminator brand is because that's what we're doing. We have moved all of the lower tiered "DJ" type top sellers or something that is a good seller, but not exactly in line with ADJ's new PRO fixture class and moved them to the Eliminator brand. The ADJ advantage points is the MAP price, you'll def pay MUCH lower by finding and working with a ADJ dealer. Anyone paying 800 for a Stryker Wash just isn't looking in the right places or asking the right people for deals. Lastly, there's so much that also goes into even the most basic of lights that we CHOOSE to do for the fixture to ensure quality performance and longevity. Stuff like UL and ETL listings, which is not cheap, and we will also re-design optics in fixtures for better optical output and max brightness, specify better higher quality components etc. You can compare Eliminator to brand XYZ, but you WILL get what you pay for. Also how have we in ADJ support let you down? Let us know if it's anything we can fix.
@@Jingles8302 appreciate your response and apologies I literally just saw it now, totally understand your points about ul etc. I have had many awful QC issues with nearly everything I’ve purchased with an ADJ logo in the past 5 years. One of my led pars had a blue led go out after about 3 years of light use, adj support couldn’t tell me the issue and wanted me to pay to ship it to them for paid diagnosis, I ended up going to a local repair man who was able to diagnose and replace the faulty led for about $25 +parts. I understand it was out of warranty and was willing to pay to have it fixed but not pay for the manufacturers time to diagnose a simple issue that the tech I spoke to on the phone ultimately said was different than the actual issue. Then I had a light that needed a part replaced, it was basically the only replacement part not offered, again light was out of warranty. They told me they would probably have the patt and to take apart the good light I had and swap parts till I figured out the issue. As I did this, I realized how many bolts on the good light had been stripped or mis-installed in the factory, now this light which was under warranty had its warranty voided based on what adj told me to do. I called and emailed support asking to see if they could get me the part I needed. After a month of we’ll look into it I gave up, had to buy a new light to match the, other and use the broken one for parts to put the good one back together due to strippped screws etc. this is why id rather buy something cheap that I can afford to replace the whole thing if it breaks because warranties and repairs for low end lights aren’t worth the headache
Awesome video Alex... I've noticed so many similar lights from ADJ / Eliminator coming up on amazon searches for stage lighting... just from no-name brands. I've had good luck with off brand moving heads but wouldn't recommend them for reliability and support.
They are all producing in China. Even pro brands like Ayrton, Martin, Prolights. They all produce in Asia. But the registration and all import risks as well guarantees are done by the brands. That's why you pay alottle bit more.
I switched from shedhs to chauvet rogues and robe fixtures for my lighting as found shedhs a complete unreliable rip off fixtures got about a year and a half then they failed
A couple of reasons why to buy from ADJ over direct from Jina. One, you get a two year warranty. Two, fixture profiles are going to be easier to find and the website grammar is terrible and specifications are often grossly inflated on almost all of these direct from China companies. Third, the QA is going to often times be better from ADJ. Direct from China Companies are notorious for using different LED's and power supplies so you may not getting the same performance from a bunch of the same model. The Stryker models are a little on the high side, but if you are resourceful enough to go direct from China you can get a deal from an ADJ dealer. The ADJ fixtures are being used more professionally now and have brand recognition, plus they have a lot of Elation technology.
@@Renniz72 sure, but is it worth paying for? For most people the answer is no, also the eliminator brand is literally admitted to being adjs lower end line. Ultimately I feel like eliminator is adjs response to the fact that chinese quality has risen to the point that the competition is too good and people recognize they aren’t worth the cost anymore for a warranty when they will still make you pay to ship them the light for repair its usually not even worth it. I’ve used adj for parts to do repairs to lights out of warranty and they are beyond useless id rather buy a china light that I can replace the whole,e thing when it breaks
I can guarantee you that they are NOT the same at all. You will find very different components inside. Take the vortex for example. Eurolite sells the Chinese CAT-80 which looks identical but is clearly much cheaper in construction. You may not think there is much of a difference but the differences are there. ADJ does quality control here in the US and will absolutely have better customer support than some random factory in China.
@@DJALEXBROWN You don’t need to. The Eliminator Vortex is ETL listed and the generic chinese/eurolite is not. That’s all you need to know. The Eliminator has different gobos/DMX layout as well.
we do a lot of perm installs in nightclubs mostly where lights get a lot of millage. We used to install Robe, Martin, etc. now sense the Chinese lights have flooded the market we get now most owners (unless they have a good knowledge of lighting heads etc) want to go the cheaper route. Recently over the last few years we have used several overseas companies for their fixtures and we have a good relationship with these companies. They are not as good as quality as a higher end fixture and they wont last as long either. we do carry replacement parts etc for most of the ones we install but we do have more issues then we would with name brands but hey we now figure. For the cost of a Robe or Martin at 3000 bucks each just buy a shit ton of the least expensive lights, use them up until they start to fail throw them out in 3 years and buy new ones and rinse and repeat. Hell the Chinese lights are bright and they work well for a good amount of time. Install an insane amount of them and for nightclubs they are hard to resist.
I DISAGREE with the quality but, I do agree that the price is way too high! The fixtures just are NOT worth that much especially the Eliminator Stealth Spot, and The Stealth Wash.
Why do you disagree on quality, I'd bet money if I ordered both the chinese and eliminator version, they would be the same light inside and out, if I had $1000 to dump down the drain I would make a video
@@DJALEXBROWNI have already looked inside of ADJ and chinese lights that you say are “exactly the same” and they are completely different inside. If you watched the whole video you would see I am explaining the opposite, ADJ/eliminator is taking chinese base lights and calling them a new eliminator light, also mentioned, some lights, such as the inno pocket spot, where ripped offf by chinese companies, and now eliminator is selling an exact chinese knock off under the eliminator name... IMO theres no difference in the quality, warrranty or support, just the brand on the eliminator lights mentioned.
This is why I don't buy lighting and when I first started in 2012 old school disco halogen lighting & led lighting were popular now 2024 everything is going cheep. But wouldn't chinese lights be more cheeper and they brake fast.
They are literally the exact same thing, internally all the products in this video, the point being that the eliminator lights mentioned, are the same and same quality/higher price, same likelyhood to break. Effectively they are doing the same that SHEHDS does at a much higher price
