I just got the shaver shaper in 2021, it does have a ni-cad battery but both shavers have a rotary motor. Not sure if it was different before. But now the only difference mechanically is the battery. The lithium battery obviously has the more powerful motor.
I got the Finale after using the burgundy one for years. The Finale does feel like the motor is slightly more powerful. I like them both, but would stick with the Finale. Caution! Getting replacement heads from your local store may not be as easy as with the burgundy version. Make sure they also sell the replacement heads. You can always get them online, but sometimes you need it right away!
Amaury Agraz I shave just about every day. I have a pretty course grade of hair. I typically have to buy a new head every 4-5 months. The blades seem to be good, but after about 4-5 months the foil tends to wear out and separate from the head.
Honestly in my opinion they are ok a bit over hyped if you ask me. I’ve used them on my clients and especially when shaving the face you have to go over a few times to get a close shave. However I still use them because they are light weight, convenient and easy to work with.

I love these shavers! I use them to shave my head everyday, but I have a question. When buying replacement foil, they are listed as comfort close, super close, and ultra clean. What's the difference? Which is the closest?

I currently use andis T outliner to shave my face because a regular razor irritates my skin. But the trimmer leaves me with a light beard shadow. If I used a foil to shave my face. Will it knock it down to give me a really close shave? And does it have to potential to irritate my skin and cause razor burn?
I have found that my clients even myself that cannot use a razor does not get any irritation or bumps but very skin type is different so I say do the jaw and cheek area first because under the neck is super sensitive.

I've had both and bought the black ones and when they are in certain positions they make a loud noise and it's definitely not normal. Problem is wahl doesn't have a great warranty on their products. And no beauty supply shop even allows returns. From using the both of them the only difference is the battery and you can swap the replacement coils out if needed they are identical.

I had both too and have to agree. The Wahl is cool no question buuut its prone to breaking a bit too easily. The Andis however...much more durable and for the price its pretty damn good. I will say this...the Andis doesn't get that baby smooth feel u'd get from the Wahl but u won't have to keep replacing the units from Andis like the Walhs.
I can attest to this being the truth. Andis gets closer and doesn’t require repeating going over the same areas multiple times, which leads to razor burn.
I have the BaByliss fx02 and the Andis plus foil shaver and love them. But I also have the Wahl 5-Star shaver and it doesn't come close. It's more like the kemei shaver that's a knockoff of the Andis. So don't waste your money on the Wahl 5-Star shaver.

If I can help anyone out. First buy some cheap clippers from Walmart or any store. Zero gap the clippers. (Watch a RUclips video) . The. Shave your hair as close as possible then go over with a foil. The one I used is the Andis version foil. That it. If course used.old school alcohol or Wich Hazel .that is it. Tea tree oil for lotio.
Good review, thanks. My barber used the burgundy one on my beard a few days ago and I really liked the way she shaped it. I'm thinking for personal use I'd save thirty or forty bucks by going with the burgundy which should be ok just for home to trim my beard. I still want to blade shave as far everything around the beard goes, just use this for a beard trimmer/shaper?

He had a smile bigger than Mr Bob Marley himself and we would laugh, in a friendly way, when he would get pissed about something because you could kinda understand what he was saying at first but then his speech sped up and went so deep into the slang which always followed by a loud squeak/kissy noise and then him laughing. It will only cut very very short hairs.
Use a trimmer first or even a 0 on your clippers
FYI for us bald head guys I use it every day...you gotta use it every day after a razor blade shave

Wahl the battery dies within 6 months. Hard to do the servicing.
Good review, thanks. My barber used the burgundy one on my beard a few days ago and I really liked the way she shaped it. I'm thinking for personal use I'd save thirty or forty bucks by going with the burgundy which should be ok just for home to trim my beard. I still want to blade shave as far everything around the beard goes, just use this for a beard trimmer/shaper?

FIRST OF ALL I was an inch away from buying the shaver shaper until my bombaclot conscious kicked in and told me to watch a review. Yours was the first video to show up and NOW I’m absolutely getting the Finale. Thanks my man. Secondly: dope shirt. Third: I had a friend in bootcamp “Chin” from da islands and he had the strongest Rastafar iiiii accent on the planet. We LOVED hearing him talk and laugh. He had a smile bigger than Mr Bob Marley himself and we would laugh, in a friendly way, when he would get pissed about something because you could kinda understand what he was saying at first but then his speech sped up and went so deep into the slang which always followed by a loud squeak/kissy noise and then him laughing. Which in turn made all if us, usually marching to a cadence, laughing as well. Man. Anyways. Great video. Entertaining and educational! Exactly what I needed. Mi wi si yuh!

First Flight Barbers i got mine yesterday, the shaver shaper, it is junk for mine opinion, waste of money.
Bs there not worth it.get a pair of andis out liners learn how to adjust the blade and go to work plus the blade last much longer
