7:15 "Igni is really weak so I didn't use it"... Dude... I played this game quite a while ago but I remember I had a sign build. Upgraded igni just broke the game. At some point, you get a 360-degree igni attack. It does more damage than combat attacks with swords. Usually, two or three igni shot killed whole groups of tough enemies. No only is igni powerful, it is overpowered. At the end of the game (because like you said combat can be repetitive) you just igni the enemies a few times instead of engaging in a lengthy battle. and it kills them all.

@@EllieMenopy i started playing the first game with the idea that the game is old chunky and just for the story and to understand the world better And it’s so awesome the art work for the intermission
My tip: when your in chapter 1 kill a crap load of barghats you get 50 orens a 10 stack from the witch and helps with early orens.i mean theres like unlimited barghats and you can easily rack up 2k orens in an hour of slaying these bad pups.
poker is faster lol, save and gamble away. You get to meet a professional by the time you hit chapter 2 and you usually hit chapter 2 accidently early on anyways
I've recently realized how much I like The Witcher franchise and yes, this first game is the one I started from. It can get really cool if you like this kind of games, although it has a lot of stuff that sounds cool on paper but that you won't use at all, even on hard difficulty, but I love it's duration, how characters tell you all about the lore and, I will give a piece of advice to everybody, when starting a new chapter, complete side quests before beginning the story quests, because that way you will gain much more experience and you will become much stronger and better than if you only do story missions (if you make a good use of the skill tree). I really like the game and this video was fun and actually useful, so thanks a lot for it!
It did, but mainly because we play pc games. Console pissants dont like or understand games that take any kind of thought or effort. Notice for witcher 2 and 3 they had to rip out 99% of the rpg mechanics, because console pissants just dont understand anything
Hi, I also had great fun while playing the game and seeing other people exploring its every bit and enjoying doing so makes me quite happy. The guide is helpful and your narration is pretty entertaining to listen. Keep up the good work :)
Don't listen to this guy telling you to ignore signs... Aard will let you insta kill most of the games enemies and Igni becomes an overpowered fire storm eventually overtaking Aard in usefulness. Yes, obviously don't waste your skill points earlier in the game completely on signs and balance it out between the sword abilities first.
@@EllieMenopy We all have our crosses to bear. However, I do appreciate the info in the video. Quite helpful. I just started W1 tonight and I haven't played the sequels yet, so I was totally your target audience.
I was gifted Witcher 3 on the Steam Sale this year. I had the 1st and 2nd one for YEARS but never played... this sparked me to start with the 1st one. Thanks for the prep talk before I begin. Great video!
Man, back in 2007-08, this kept me away from school. So good, I understood then that video games can be way more than Gtas and Counter Strikes. 10/10 Soundtrack
A guide to Witcher 1 in 2020?? I'd say very useful. I didn't find out about the Ctrl Click looting until chapter 3 lol. I decided to do a full series playthrough and 50 hours later I'm at the end of Chapter 5. Thank you for taking the time to make this, and don't worry about your voice, it's fine!
I never knew anything about the witcher until I claimed it on gog, starting playing it, didn't know what the hell was going on and found this video, really helped, great job!
I don't know, I am playing this game right now, and I absolutely love it. Haven't played neither 2 or 3, I decided to begin with the first. Amazing game.
When i saw the netfix series i started reading the books and started the first game and now i play the 2 so i guess i should count myself from one of the few people that start with the 1 game. :)
Your lucky. I went 3, and it became my favorite game of all time, then since I only had an xbox 1 and no PC, I then bought and beat witcher 2 twice (both pathways on dark difficulty) then I repeat witcher with all dlcs on deathmatch. My chick has a super cheap laptop from 2016 for college. I just recently, 3 days ago, went to the gog website and witcher 1 enhanced was only 99 cents. I thought fuck it even if it doesnt work, it's just a dollar. AND IT WORKED AND IM LOVING IT. Oh and btw halfway through reading the books and I counted down the days for the netflix show to air, followed it for over a year until it finally released. I fell in love with geralt and this universe, no other game comes close besides ocarina of time and halo 1-3
I know witcher genre since 2014 and I started with Witcher 2. You right, majority of players started with the Witcher 3 and small amount of gamers started with the first game. Usually they are polish ;)
This video was fantastic. I am currently on Act 1 and felt like I was super unprepared and coming at it wrong. Your video helped me know what to come at this game with, both mindset and style wise. Other than that it was a blast to hear your commentary on this. The video was goofy but still very fast-paced and incredibly informative. Don't even care if I'm interested in any of your other videos that was worth the follow. Great work man. Keep it up.
I purposely did not play the 2nd and 3rd Witcher games so that my expectationsa won't skyrocket when it came to playing the 1st one, and I'm happy that I did that. I'm having a blast playing this game. If you can overcome it's flaws, you will see it's all the more better side, and I promise you you will enjoy.
Brand new to pc gaming. Happy to start with enhanced. Became a fan from the Netflix show. In my Witcher era and working on my own leather Netflix season one brown armor for cosplay and Ren Faires. Also have a real wood Gwent board and real card decks. We have the Witcher: Adventure Boardgame, the all in Kickstarter Old World game board Kickstarter set (not played yet) and ordered the Witcher: Path of Destiny board game all in set. We are in book 2 , Sword of Destiny.
I really suggest playing the game with Full Combat Rebalance mod. It adds an actual working dodge mechanic (similar to bloodborne dodge), an parry mechanic (Geralt will parry enemies that are right in front of him, in some degree), it makes alchemy better, it completely rebalance character progression making it way better, rebalance Signs, combat styles, and most important, makes combat way more engaging and faster, you no longer can stay in one place, and chain combos, you need to actively moves, not to get surrounded (hit in the back are pretty lethal), and dodge attacks. Recommended for everyone.
I subscribed on the bases that you hate your voice alone, lmao. I have my own tiny channel, but I've sat through hours on top of hours of having to hear my own voice while editing, ugh. I've always hated my own voice, especially on any kind of recording device. So, I feel your pain there man. If it helps, I actually like your voice, and I really like that you put your mess ups in. It makes ya feel kinda stupid, speaking from my own experience here, but I believe it makes you more relatable. Great video, and I can't wait to dig deeper into your content. Recently got a laptop, so I've been digging around on Steam. Found The Witcher 1-2 Enhanced Editions so I was totally down, cuz like most, I loved 3. Although you didn't answer my original question, I feel the tips you provided here will be a great help. Btw, my original question was, when you start a new game it gives you a choice of game modes "Witcher" or "New adventures". And I'm not sure which to pick. What is the difference? Is the new adventures one after the events in the game? That being said, your video was still helpful and you got a sub and a like out of it so I see that as win/win. I'm finished with this mild rant so you sir have yourself a beautiful day.
Actually I began playing the games with the first one. :D One quick note: I preferred Igni. At the beginning it was weak but I developped only this one (and Aard a bit) and during the last chapters it was lethal even in boss fights. ;-) But all in all your video is a pretty good job!
I'm a Witcher 3 junkie. I'm in my 8th playtrough but started Witcher 1 two weeks ago and I love it. You have to get used to this gameplay but I love the story and getting to know the history of the characters. The thing I HATE is you have to WALK so much haha. No roach or fast travel. That sucks. What I love about this game is that the builds are a bit overwhelming in the beginning Also the fighting. I did not understand at first that you have to wait for the flaming sword and then click. In the beginning I just kept on clicking and of course it didn't work out. Thanks for this vid!
Keybinding tip...make two keys, one for steel sword and the other silver next to each other. There is no reason to have 3 keys for strong, fast or group. If you click the key to draw either steel or silver sword then all you have to do to change fighting styles is click the key that you used to pull out the sword that you are using. As for signs, aard and igni are the only ones to waste pts. into.
Hi DPhantom. I stumbled across your vids when I was looking for non-spoiler help with The Witcher. I'm new to the entire series, and wanted maximum pleasure for a 300 hour investment. You were a godsend. Just enough to make me feel competent without hand-holding. So, thanks for that. I'm sure I'll look at more of your vids eventually, but I'm really trying to stick to a one (maybe two) game at a time. PS, I love your voice, and think I like your brain. Peace/Out
i bought the witcher 1-3 on sale last year but started playing the first part only now (instead of working on my master's thesis) and I have no idea how to play this thing, so i'm thankful for this video xD
I am so glad that I have started this franchise with this game... Since the others seem to play much better. But as I am playing on the computer, I am planning to carry my choices throughout the three games. It will be a fun ride!
One of my best friend just gift me Witcher I and II for Christmas 'cause I loved Witcher 3 when i played it on PS4 few years ago. Thanks you for the video man, appreciate it.
I've just started playing the game recently and I have 25 hours in it already. One thing I'm not enjoying is the inconsistency of quest difficulty. Some are ridiculously easy and others and near impossible. In the 3rd act (might be second can't remember precisely) in the sewers you raid the base of Salamandra and there were SOO many enemies. It took me at least 12 attempts to get close to beating it
I had it on my pc back when it first came out, got really far into it and thought it was like no other. Nowadays TW3 is a masterpiece and I still roll a character out every so often. Also Big Ups to CD Proj Red on Cyberpunk 2077 forget the haters I Love this game and my PC handles this fine work of art with precision and speed, cant stop!
I bought The Witcher 3 a while ago on sale, but somehow never played it. Last week I wanted to play, but then figured I'd rather start from the beginning and bought the first part. This was really helpful to feel alittle more acquainted since I sometimes feel overwhelmend when starting new games. I just finished the first chapter, and so far I like it. PS: I also noticed the different running speeds, but did't make a connection to the fighting style.
Thanks for the tips. If I could add one of my own, I'd suggest going to the swaps early on and killing as many Bloedzuigers, Drowners and Ghouls as possible. Apart from helping boost your stats, those monsters all contain chemicals which can fetch tidy prices with Kalkstien. I spend entire playing sessions in the swaps killing all around me..😉
VERY good film. I've got used to ur voice quickly so take it easy on that. Thanks for upload! Even it doesnt help me, cuz i gain some first experiance in game, besides ctrl+m1 powerful OP shortcut. It was fun to watch! Yeah as polish I think you did quite well on that reading Andrzej Sawpcowski. In our fandom of witcher or books Aard isnt "yard", use "art(h)" with "th" instead of "t", but I understand why this differences are and its completly fine/normal.
And one tip for people who get drunk and fight those plants vs zombies inspired pumpkins pulling your sword out will allow you to run instead of stumble everywhere once your done as when your drunk the effects can last quite a while
Havent played any of the Witchers before. Iv binged the 2 seasons twice and i bought this game today on Steam sale for a whopping €1.19 🤣 Your vid will help me out and ill come back to watch it for help through my playthrough 🙃👌
Hey Tanks for your good video But take my advice Maximize igni Sign and it will be more useful than you can imagine Not even bothering myself killing many enemies Just use igni sing 3 times and they are all dead try it once at least 😊
i've always wanted to play The Witcher Trilogy for so long, it's because i've never really have a gaming PC (because i'm basically poor lol), and now i finally have a decent gaming laptop and plus there's an autumn sale on Steam that makes this game really cheap, so i just bought the Trilogy and this really helps me thank you.. (p.s sorry for my bad english haha)
honestly, the ctrl-click tip made me not deinstall the game (found it on another video before this one ^^) everyone's like "pick up everything" and i'm like "but i want less than 50% of my gameplay to be spent collecting" after multiple tips videos, i'm still unsure on how exactly i'm supposed to kill the plant-monsters in the swamps, that's what i was actually looking for xD
If you can't kill it, then don't thats how witcher games usually are. just level up a bit, avoid the plant creatures, and go back to it once your geared up enough. also check the bestiary for what it's weaknesses is. the journal is your friend ^^
@@EllieMenopy the issue with that is that i haven't met any archespores except for the Coccacidium throughout all of act II, so i didn't even know what i was looking for. my strategy was to quen (as soon as i got it) and run xD my biggest irritation with that is that it's stronger than the chapter II boss, although it appears pretty early in the same chapter my first attempt at it was actually to igni it, which proved ineffective, although that's the way to do it according to the beastiary
Useful vid and good tips! Could've done without the stutters though as it was clearly edited anyway haha It probably made the video lengthier than it needed to be :((
I played the first one when the second one was released. So worth playing them In order because each game just gets better and more defined. I’m into playing older games because we’ve become spoiled with graphics and production quality nowadays.
I went ahead and got the series when it was on sale and I enjoyed playing up until the second chapter with a pack of wyverns and the special blade. See I did well and got the sword, however about a hour later I had died after I went through a cutscene, exited and entered many buildings, and somehow never once got a auto save all that time. Then I was back at the wyverns.
I was confused about the controls when I started the game as it didn't had controller support but then i got used to the keyboard and mouse controls and enjoyed the game mechanics
I FREAKING LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 1. Your voice sounds fine, I like it. 2. These tips are AWESOME!! 3. I am definitely here bc of the TV show and decided to also start reading the books and finally decided to buy TW3 and was suckered into getting TW1 & TW2-AoK at a huge discount. I planed to play the PC version for all 3 on a particular laptop, but it has a problem so I'm stuck using my MacBook for TW1 and TW2 only. I don't mind at all bc I am a brand new videogame player and this is my very 1st videogame EVER! 4. Seriously wish I found this BEFORE I got started but I'm glad I'm watching it today. 5. Promise to come back and watch again for reference and now I'm off to watch that video on Alchemy. OH!! Thanks for mentioning the runaway option during combat!! LOL - I literally just did that down in the sewers to avoid being killed. Thanks again, will look forward to more great info from you!
love your enthussiasm. hope you enjoy the PC gaming space. and try to experience this game with an open mind. its actually one of the more unliked games in the series. it had some problems, and not a lot of people liked it. witcher 2 fixes all of that, but it also made the combat harder. I'm personally glad they did. but im not sure how it would go for someone new to games ^^. nevertheless. hope you enjoy more video games in the future! ^^
Wish your video was published 3 years earlier. After abandoning this game 3 years ago I'm playing it once again in lockdown. Thanks for the tips n tricks.
Got about 6 hours I think? Went off exploring for a bit. Got to a quest where I had to find flowers. Got stuck for about ten minutes trying to figure out how to get the flowers. Was about to give up but I kept going. So far solid 7 this game is pretty nice. Combat is terrible though, ass as fuck. Thr worst shit I have ever seen. It's so stiff and weird. If you click once you're stuck in a loop until the enemy stops attacking..
I recently started playing the witcher 3 but stopped after 15 hours in order to play though both the witcher 1 & 2 so im now in the third act of the first game
I am using Bing AI in order to progress in this game. It’s nice to know technology finally allowed us to decypher 15 year old technology. But seriously now, they could have done a better job highlighting ingredients necessary for x and listing potion ingredients on hover, ability to carry swords in a backpack, ability to turn in quest items despite them being in storage, separating location quests from non-location quests, telling you EXACTLY when characters are present and where to avoid issues and implement rechecks to avoid quests bugging out, internal character monologue signaling how to get rid of a problem (guards in chapter 2) or text indicating that an interraction is for later. I dont want to get someone drunk just to find out its a quest for later etc.
thank you for this video, i always wanted to play the witcher 3 because i love questing in mmorpg games and the witcher 3 looks like such a game, then eventually i purchased it and read in the manual that choices of the witcher 2 carried over to the witcher 3 and then i looked it up and that's when i also bought the witcher 1 and the witcher 2 and started with the witcher 1. i am currently at the boss fight of chapter 1 which i am struggeling with but i am sure at some point i will be able to defeat it and continue
I played this the day it was released. I've played them all. Since 1 and 2 can be bought on steam for about $4.00, I thought it ight be a good time to revisit them.
So, the closed captioning just said that the author of the witcher books is named "Race of Cow Skis". As a hard of hearing pollock I don't know if I should be offended or impressed.
Wait there is no way to re-distribute the talents later on?! This is like the only thing that really pisses me off in these older games. I don't mind the combat is clunky, story cut scenes leading straight to unexpected boss fights or lame tutorials, but this mechanic where you have no idea what is good and bad to invest skill points into and if you screw up you basically have to start the game over again or suffer through the rest of the game with a real bad build. I get they want to force replay-ability, but this first witcher game is so heavily story driven and limiting to the main story line that is becomes boring going through all of it again after the first playthrough since the combat itself is pretty boring and takes a big chunk of the gameplay experience. At least the dialogue, scenery and story are entertaining me so far.
Playing with the Rise of the white wolf mod helps a lot with this game. I highly recommend installing that if you are going to play this. There’s a few other essential mods as well but that’s main one you will thank yourself for. But yeah this game is great but the combat is pretty atrocious and no amount of mods will change that. Witcher 2 is the game most will probably want to start out with since that game feels a little more closer to TW3
I played witcher 3 three times on death march so i startes the witcher 1 and im enjoying it so far I will beat witcher 2 after this and witcher 3 again God I love this universe
Sorry for my bad english, but I remember playing Gothic 3, Oblivion and The Witcher 1 back in the days. The Gameplay compared to the other Games was really bad, but the Story was the best Part about the Witcher 1

I just started replaying and I thought it aged really well. it's very mod friendly too
It did, but mainly because we play pc games.
We need an enhanced edition of your voice.
this IS the enhanced edition. sadly -__-'' . . .
@@EllieMenopy We all have our crosses to bear. However, I do appreciate the info in the video. Quite helpful. I just started W1 tonight and I haven't played the sequels yet, so I was totally your target audience.
@@stevegreedo5687 glad I could help.
Thank you for taking the time to make this, and don't worry about your voice, it's fine!
oh and your voice dont suck or hurt, its calm and very relaxing. keep up the good work brother!
This is the first Witcher game I’m playing so I have nothing to compare to. Probably why I’m enjoying this game.
The only things people always complain about are the combat, the graphs, cos there are few shining and glowing things around...and reading😒
damn that full metal alchemist picture hit hard
I love the first game! I’m nearly finished it then I will play 2 and 3!
Recently started playing The Witcher 1, wish I had found your vid sooner!
This is exactly what I was looking for before I start the game tonight. thank you!
I just bought all three but started from number one... loving it!!
Did you finish it??
Peace/Out
In my country it's cult classic, so every Chad gamer played W1
ur country is ....
@@MCamlibell Czech Republic. Right next to Poland, so...XD
@@domsou7780 I suppose it's the same with mafia 1?
@@golem4617 Right on

Aard is like a pirate, “aar” with d at the end
I said that as soon as that section of the video came up
Hey, I reccomend meditate 1 hour after drinking long term potions. After that you have 0 toxicity and can dring much more potion stuff :)
Great TIP!
i bought the witcher 1-3 on sale last year but started playing the first part only now (instead of working on my master's thesis) and I have no idea how to play this thing, so i'm thankful for this video xD
I played Cyberpunk, loved witcher3 (over 1200 hrs on steam), now I don't know why started witcher 1 today so I landed here :D
It had such atmosphere, art style... Still consider it one of my favourite RPGs which determined my gaming past.
I’ve just started W1 and found your vid very useful! I hate the sound of my voice too!
It took me at least 12 attempts to get close to beating it
Your way to biased towards melee combat. Igni is an extremely OP sign that helps a ton in group combat
nice edit...good video u deserve more subs man..good luck
I had it on my pc back when it first came out, got really far into it and thought it was like no other. Nowadays TW3 is a masterpiece and I still roll a character out every so often. Also Big Ups to CD Proj Red on Cyberpunk 2077 forget the haters I Love this game and my PC handles this fine work of art with precision and speed, cant stop!
This video makes playing this game like 30% better
Iv binged the 2 seasons twice and i bought this game today on Steam sale for a whopping €1.19 🤣
Your vid will help me out and ill come back to watch it for help through my playthrough 🙃👌
Thanks for help with combat! I bought 1 and 2 for 6$…. I love the Witcher series so I am going to play them both
I am starting and this video helped quite a bit. Your voice is fine. Thanks for this :)
i'm at 8,5h into this game, i wish there were the fast travel man lol, but i'm enjoying it a lot, even if is a bit slow and dispersive so far
Hey
Tanks for your good video
But take my advice
Maximize igni Sign and it will be more useful than you can imagine
Not even bothering myself killing many enemies
Just use igni sing 3 times and they are all dead try it once at least 😊
i've always wanted to play The Witcher Trilogy for so long, it's because i've never really have a gaming PC (because i'm basically poor lol), and now i finally have a decent gaming laptop and plus there's an autumn sale on Steam that makes this game really cheap, so i just bought the Trilogy and this really helps me thank you.. (p.s sorry for my bad english haha)
honestly, the ctrl-click tip made me not deinstall the game (found it on another video before this one ^^)
everyone's like "pick up everything" and i'm like "but i want less than 50% of my gameplay to be spent collecting"
after multiple tips videos, i'm still unsure on how exactly i'm supposed to kill the plant-monsters in the swamps, that's what i was actually looking for xD
If you can't kill it, then don't thats how witcher games usually are. just level up a bit, avoid the plant creatures, and go back to it once your geared up enough. also check the bestiary for what it's weaknesses is. the journal is your friend ^^
@@EllieMenopy the issue with that is that i haven't met any archespores except for the Coccacidium throughout all of act II, so i didn't even know what i was looking for.
my strategy was to quen (as soon as i got it) and run xD
my biggest irritation with that is that it's stronger than the chapter II boss, although it appears pretty early in the same chapter
my first attempt at it was actually to igni it, which proved ineffective, although that's the way to do it according to the beastiary
13:20 the Gameplay( or rather the gunplay) was the one saving grace for mass effect andromeda in my opinion
I’m on chapter 5 I believe of W1 and am really enjoying it! Thanks so much - great video❤
Just what I needed! Good job dito, you have a new subscriber. :D
Thanks for a heads up and lookover. just starting the series.
I remember building a PC just to play this game. Love it but it didn't age well. Would love a remake of this game.
I would love a remake with the witcher 3 engine!
Or better, an improved engine! 😎
Wish your video was published 3 years earlier. After abandoning this game 3 years ago I'm playing it once again in lockdown. Thanks for the tips n tricks.
Hi :)
I love this videogame I finished it yesterday and it is incredible!
The signs really help me very much too.
Have a nice day :)
I enjoyed your video, very informative, funny and your voice is just fine! Thank you.
You sound fine mate. GJ! I recommend getting a Blue Yeti if you're ever looking for a mic again.
If you click once you're stuck in a loop until the enemy stops attacking..
thanks, that ctl click changes everything
love the video and the editing it was so cool I'm reading all the books then jumping right in to witcher1 modded on my PC.. Awsome video thank you!
Andromeda’s gameplay definitely didn’t suck. In my mind it was one of the saving graces of it
Igni is the n1.I have used Yrden a lot, once you level it up it is good for blodezugers, kikimore or that huge koshchey.
Excellent video. Lots of really accurate and good info. And u sound ok. Dont worry about it. Thanks.
The quen in the first game is used a) for treating your wounds, b) when you forgot to make a Cat potion and do not have a torch 😌
I recently started playing the witcher 3 but stopped after 15 hours in order to play though both the witcher 1 & 2 so im now in the third act of the first game
Congratulations!. its the same for me. Instead on going through 1 and 2. i went all the way back to the books. lmao
Yeah would have started with the books if i could but i havent gotten a way to get my hands on them if i dont want some digital version
I play it now. Didnt have any contact to the witcher until a week ago. Find your vid helpful.
I am about to start having just got the three games. Thanks for the tips
Got it as part of the Cyberpunk 2077 promotion... it was actualy a realy nice thing to be gufted to the GOG users...
Witcher 2 is the game most will probably want to start out with since that game feels a little more closer to TW3
ive never played witcher before and i thought it would be best to start from the first and boy was i confused when i didnt know how to do combat
absolutely adored your commentary
I played witcher 3 three times on death march so i startes the witcher 1 and im enjoying it so far
I will beat witcher 2 after this and witcher 3 again
God I love this universe
it got gold dialogues everywhere, this already beats many rpgs
Sorry for my bad english, but
I remember playing Gothic 3, Oblivion and The Witcher 1 back in the days. The Gameplay compared to the other Games was really bad, but the Story was the best Part about the Witcher 1
I agree, the gameplay sucked, but I love that they tried anyways.
