Thanks for the fun tour ! You know, in all the times I've been to Chicago I never made it to the Botanic Garden. They were all business trips though so hard to get out of the immediate area where I was staying- but at least I was always walking distance to the Lurie and the Art Institute ! I can't pick one fave of all the public gardens I've been to, but Coastal Maine Botanical Garden, Chanticleer, Lotusland and the Huntington are right up there.

Business trips are so hard to get to actually see the sights! I used to travel a lot in a previous job so have been to so many cities where I’ve only seen the airport and a hotel 😆

No cicadas by me out in Schaumburg. However, went to my parents in Mount Prospect for Father’s Day. They are everywhere!! Literally on edge the whole time. 😆 horrible flyers they are. my family is going to the Chicago botanic Gardens today. It’s a free admission day!

It’s crazy how they’re all over in some areas and then not at all a few miles away 😆

It wasn’t until college that I saw a mountain for the first time 😆 I can’t imagine how pretty it would be to see them every day!

Im in the suburbs of Chicago and the cicadapolaypse is so real! They are about 2" thick on our driveway and literally look like piles of leaves. They have gotten STINKY too!
They were super fun when the first came out because I have an almost 2 who likes the buggies. But they are SO loud now you cant hear a chainsaw in the backyard. 🙉

I’m glad I finally got to see some but happy they aren’t here in Chicago 🤣

Used to visit CBG, they used to charge only for parking, but not for actual admission. Would take the Metra line to the Braeside station for a manageable walk along Lake Cook Road to the garden. Now they charge for admission in addition to parking.

I've not seen one cicada in NW Indiana yet, but my husband works in Hillside and he sees them all over there lol. I remember years ago taking our son to Brookfield Zoo and they were all over the place! Also, I loved seeing the botanical gardens - how beautiful!

That’s how it’s been in Chicago vs the suburbs! I’ve still seen zero in the city.

Great job with the flow in this video. We have zero of those bugs up here in Lynden, WA so far, but I am ok with that 👊🏻🌻👊🏻

Wow, such beautiful sights and sounds🥰 I’d love to visit CBG soon and visit the city and visit the beaches on Lake Michigan! I live in Toronto and we also get the cicadas. They definitely freak me out and I’ve had a few traumatizing childhood experiences with them, but I like that you appreciate their natural beauty! I too feel very blessed to live on the shore of a Great Lake (Lake Ontario). It truly does look more like an ocean than a typical lake.

Cute chipmunk 🐿 I always thought that cicadas are only in a hot climate. The sound reminds me at the south of France or Italy. Thank you for taking us to lake Michigan and the beautiful botanical garden.

When I go to botanical gardens, I always find myself comparing it to the Chicago Botanical garden. It is an amazing garden, and not many are on that scale.

I'm with you on the lake. I grew up on Lake Erie and what other people called a lake we called a pond. LOL
