Thanks. It's good to see this rare opera. It was broadcast on B. B. C. Radio 3 some time ago but without the overture. Who knows what is extraordinarily original about the overture? It's the gun-shot! A child would have done better directing this opera! They might be better at governing as well. A father revealed recently that describing Brexit (ridiculous expression) his teenager? son had said "How bloody stupid!" Why mix periods? At a travesty of Camus' "les Justes" in Paris a female audience member shouted out "Mais pas dans une ligne!" "But not in a straight line!" etc. etc.. Was Grete changed from fiancée to bride (as in Smetana's masterpiece)? Why was she dressed as a bride throughout?
Sehr schöne Produktion dieser wunderbaren, heute leider viel zu selten gespielten Oper! Schade, dass es mit MIcroports aufgenommen wurde - für die Dialoge hilfreich, aber für die Abmischung in den Ensembles schlecht...
Zur Aufklärung: Beide (@Theod'Or @Richard B. Meyer) haben recht. Die Produktion hatte am 10.Mai 1998 Premiere aber diese Verfilmung wurde 2000 gemacht.
